I just got a few of these in the mail. I have never used a carto before. Can someone explain to me how to fill it up? In the mouth end, there is some white material surrounding the hole. Should I just drop some liquid into this mesh stuff? How many drops? Is there any primer to deal with? I would do a search, but it's my understanding that this is a new type of carto, so maybe someone here could give me a quick answer.

Thanks much!

You mean white stuffing under the white end-cap?

And do you know the capacity of the carto? Boges (about 1 3/8 inch long) are around 1ml. But Echo may have 3ml - I have no idea. You need to know the capacity of your carto.

I recommend thinner juices, 70pg/30vg or thinner and I find thin clear juices with no sediment make a carto work well longer.

I do this
shake and uncap the eliquid
hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end.
Tilt the carto and drip 18+ drops per ml capacity into the carto, slowly and rotating to drip on drier areas
Clean up the threaded end so it's dry and clean.
Then tilt the open end down into tissue and blow into the threaded end to clear the central air channel (if it has one).
I fold a bit of tissue and clean up any loose liquid above the stuffing
Recap the carto or put a plastic or delrin drip tip on it as a mouthpiece

Then comes the settling to make sure every bit of stuffing is damp so I don't singe the carto. I lay the carto on different sides for 15-20 minutes. If your juices are thicker than mine then you may need to let cartos soak/settle a lot longer. (like some people do overnight)

I like to use a syringe, injecting between the filler and the outside wall of the carto. Usually, I'll spread it around to 2 or 3 spots if it is new or totally emptied. For me this is quicker than dripping it in, because these things take a lot of drops. If you do drip, though, I've read of putting a cut-off q-tip in the center hole to prevent accidently spilling liquid into it.

The paragraph above the pic on this page. I like their silver carto.
Echo E Cartomizer for 510-EGO/KGO/Riva Batteries - $5.95 :

Suggested filling instructions:
Drip into the filter (not the hole) until you get a drop out of the bottom. Then set on a napkin for 10-15 min to let it all even out in the filter and drain any overfilled liquid. Then wipe the bottom off with a napkin and vape for the entire day.

I've followed the instructions for filling and letting it drain, and I only added 1ml or so.

If you don't ever want leaks, get a Tank, forget this thing.

You must have done something wrong the echo-e holds at least 2.5 ml and doesn't leak at all after you let the few overfill drops drain out.

It doesn't leak in my pocket.
It will work for a while, and has a nice vape, but then I get some juice in my mouth.
I put less to try to prevent this.

You can get condensation build up in them and you are probably tasting the juice from that. It can be eliminated by using a 801 drip tip. The larger hole in the drip tip allows the excess vapor to escape after a draw and greatly reduces any condensation.

No drops get through since I put some rolled up tissue in the filter (just enough so it doesn't fall out on it's own)

The vape is really nice, smooth, a little warmer and stronger than the eGo-T.

From what I understand, there are two models of Echo's. The "plain" Echo is 901 thread, I think.

The Echo-E is 510 thread, will fit any Ego-T batteries. I got an Echo-E kit and extra carto's yesterday from Cool vapes. Fits just fine on my ego-t battery.

Should mention that the batteries that came with my Echo-E are not automatic batteries, but Ego-T push button batteries. Apparently the auto batteries only come with the regular Echo model. I was a little disappointed with this, was really looking forward to trying an auto battery.

Not a lot of info out there yet on the Echo, so do as much research as you can before buying one model or the other. This forum has the most info anywhere that I've found on the Echo. Type Echo into the search box, read through all the threads. That's what got me to order one.

Thanks Janner - I've got a regular echo (650ma and 1300ma) on the way and I purchased it strictly based on reading these forums! You are right - not much info on youtube or elsewhere but it looks good.

I just started vaping last week and on a bit of a buying binge trying to find the right device. I got the pigcig from Lecig two days ago and I like it. Now I'm trying to find an "easy refill" device and the echo seems like a good one. I've also got a Provari on order. I'm tempted to go for a box mod which holds a bottle of juice but will try and contain myself at least until the other units arrive!
