It's tough to beat a 510 LR atomizer on an ego batt.

I don't understand why you guys keep touting the atomizer when the O.P. clearly states he wants to get away from those. Quoting the O.P. "So I a few months ago I did the research and came down on the Ego. Like the vapor, TH, etc but the thing that really keeps me from loving vaping is having to constantly diddle with carts."

With your Ego's you should get the Echo-E carto's and also check in the dual-coil 1.5 ohm cartos, they hold 1.8ml or so and really rock on the Ego. I use both of these and prefer them over the GoGo. Get a few drip tips to put on your dual-coils for a nice feel and easy refilling. I've seen drip tips for the Echo-E cartos too but now I can't find them, I need some too. Best of luck.

Time for the long over due follow up: In a nutshell I tried just about every combo out there and now am, quite contentedly, a full on Go-Go user - even if it contradicts much of what I thought I wanted when I started this thread!

Here were my experiences along the way in case it helps the next person (in my chronological order):

Ego Type B tank -
Pros: Liked the capacity, size of the mouthpiece, allowed me to continue to use my ego battery
Cons: either leaked like a sieve or just had poor performance (no discernable hit) in Texas sun, after cleaning never performed again and only got 3 weeks per atty

Ego Type A tank (only borrowed) -
Pros: Less capacity than the B which means easier to switch between all the wonderful juices out there, more managable mouthpiece
Cons: Same as above but also muted what I can only call the "low" or "deep" aspects of the juices I tried, feel of the draw not as good as the B for me.

LR cartomizer (one of the highly recommended brands):
Pros: better taste than the tanks, heat didn't effect as much
Cons: variable performance, left-over juice, mouthpiece got too hot.

Echo-E cartomizer:
Pros: Outstanding taste, used same ego battery, good performance when out of A/C environment, felt solid
Cons: weak vapor on some juices, wimpy throat hit, disliked the mouthpiece

Conventional Cartomizer:
Pros: good taste, surivable in heat
Cons: mouthpiece too hot, variable performance, this like the LR cartomizer certainly felt disposable

Various Clearomizers:
Pros: they are clear?
Cons: Everything, not dependable, garbage, etc. Great idea but still weak on execution but will hopefully get better.
510-T Tank system:
Pros: best of the tank systems that work on the Ego battery, smallish capacity to change juices often, didn't leak
Cons: smallish capacity runs out constantly, atomizer/filling end closure is weak so should always fill with syringe or pipette, slightly hard draw

Go-Go:
Pros: complete taste, sufficient capacity to last a day before swap, good in the Texas heat, consistent performance, balanced throat hit, price of system quite approachable, cartos clean reasonably easily and are nearly good as new after
Cons: oddball threading (though adapters are starting to hit the market), wasn't free, does not provide day care or clean the car

Smok Dual Coil Carto (4-5 mL capacity version):
Pros: holds a ton of juice, good taste
Cons: WAY too much throat hit for me, "high" or "sweet" parts of juice taste muted, vapor to me is too dry/not warm as it is in the Go-Go

So that sums up the last few months of my travels. The advice I would give (and have given) to others wondering what hardware to go with is to start with either a 510-T or Type A. They give you a chance to experiment with all the juices you are about to discover, have what can only be called the universal battery thread allowing you to try all kinds of different "experience" devices since you have the "power" portion covered, are widely available with all kinds of help. But (there is always a but), be prepared at some point if your new nicotene delivery system turns into a bit of a gadget hobby as well to likely end up with a Go-Go or Echo because, in my opinion, right now they seem to be the best all around choice once you get the hang of things a bit.

Guess you could say that, at least for me, the egos were the training wheels and the Go-Go is the super duper bicycle you have always wanted (but never knew you wanted)...

I think we have to go through all the steps and find out for ourselves. The only difficulty I can see starting out with a go-go or echo is it's difficult to test small amounts of juices. And when you're new it's all about finding the right juice.

I agree with that. Some juices (mostly PG) I love with the echo-e carto. Hate the mouthpiece too but I bought a drip tip that fit thankfully.

Hi jmstark512, fellow Texan. I'm assuming by the 512 that you are central Texas? Welcome back - glad you found your way! I too am now and enjoying the Go-Go (my first!). Great reviews, by the way. Should be required for all newbs. :)

I started with the Go-Go and love it! However, you are right, it does not work well for taste testing/dripping (at this time, IMHO; maybe when more/better adapters come out!).

So, to that end, I ordered an ePower and some drip/tip attys with which to drip some attys. :D Should be here any day...I can hardly wait.

Good review and thanks for the followup. I wish everyone would do a followup like you did. By the way good choice on the Go-Go. The Echo is my favorite auto and the Go-go my favorite manual. The new Echo dual horizontal coils are very good and you should try some when they are available. They will be available in the next couple of weeks.:2cool:
Cropduster has the Echo 1300, the Echo-e kits and Go-go kits for 44.95 http://www.cropduster901.com/shop/

Go-goUSA has the colored kits and tanks. http://www.go-gousa.com/index.php?o...ry=1192741&mode=category&offset=0&sort=normal
