Ecig Light (LED) Good or Bad

The led is useful for determining battery condition and even then it's perhaps unnecessary. Although I do like the confirmation that the auto switch is indeed working. Other than that I like blue and green for led colors. I use the Silver Bullet a lot, so don't worry about lack of an led.
I think the light is good in a way because it can communicate the condition to the user. For example, my 801 on a standard battery flashes 10 slow for "you're vaping too much" and 20 fast for "you need to recharge my ...." I personally don't think it's cool to have them look like cigarettes and have red LEDs, but nobody has EVER mistaken my black 801 for a real cigarette.
I like having the LED only because it lets me know precisely when I need to recharge the battery. There's no guessing game about it, or wondering if I just need to rejuice it. I'll miss the LED on the Mod I'm getting. (I was very happy to discover that the Janty Stick has an LED)
i have a 510 and so i think the led is mostly cosmetic. I like to see it blinking when i put it in the charger to make sure it's working but other than that there is no use for it other than "PRETTY!!! IT'S PURPLE!! PRETTY!!! IT'S BLUE!!!" No mistaking those for analogs, LOL. I like 'em anyways, like I said... PRETTY!!!
The only advantage I see is that the blinking LED lets you know when the battery needs recharging (I use a manual battery). I don't want a red or orange LED as I want to make sure no one thinks I'm puffing on an analog. If there's no LED, the battery life would be a little longer.

I like the LED but I only use blue or green so that it doesnt look like an analog. The led give information like it has been stated. I had one without an led and the only way I was able to determine the bat was dead was by letting it charge 2 hours trying it then trying the same atty on another bat that was good. then I tried cleanin it and still nothing so I assumed it was dead. Im still not 100 percent sure it was dead but I just threw it anyway.
I'd be fine with a LED if it wasnt on the end. IMO there is no need to have it look like a regular cig. This to me just draws unneeded attention to it. If the LED were placed somewhere next to the atomizer, i'd be ok with that.
I agree. A LED anywhere that you can see but the world can't, that'd be perfect. 
I like the LED cause when it blinks i know it needs to be recharged. also when i first start charging it it blinks 5 times to let me know its working ok.

Flip side my wife likes that it looks like a analog so when she is driving or outside at work it looks just like she having a cig and no one looks twice. Sometimes being stealthy is not good, if that makes sense.

I like the LED, I use it in the morning to prevent falling over dogs while making my way to the livingroom lamp. LOL
I have just ordered the Chuck which has no LED, guess I'll just have to use a flashlight to avoid the dogs.
Really, I like that it flashes to show it needs to be charged. That way I don't panic thinking it's broke.

If you're in a place where smoking is not allowed, then having a device that is obviously not a cigarette is an advantage.
I've heard that the battery lasts longer if it doesn't the LED.
Not sure why an LEd would be necessary on a USB passthrough, as it doesn't need to be recharged and it would just redirect some of the power, instead of all of it going to the atty.

Afubar, good grief, if you'd just let the dogs sleep in your bed, you wouldn't have that problem of tripping over them.
I prefer without. I don't need a light blinking to tell me it needs charging. When the light starts blinking you ain't getting vapor anyway. Auto batts different story, kinda, but don't use them much.
It was really important to have different colored LEDs when I started vaping, now I don't care. The last battery I bought had no LED and I find myself using it more when I go out so as not to draw attention and have to play 20 questions with every drunk at the bar.
Plus it's great for vaping at the movies.
