I inevitably fall asleep clutching one of my mods in front of the TV, which sometimes leads to juice stains on my shirts. I just SHOUT! them out.

And bottles are like Tupperware - give them away at your own risk, never expect them back. When we host Thanksgiving or Xmas dinner at our house, we buy the cheap disposable containers and zippered freezer bags to dispense "carry out" leftovers.
I fall asleep holding my vape a lot; I actually really enjoy waking up with it in my hand taking a puff and then going back to sleep :D

When stealth vaping in a public place, hold the vape in for a few seconds and then exhale by blowing what's left down your shirt.

Never take a cloud machine into a public place and fill the air with voluminous vapor! People tend to associate vaping with what they see in public.

Well they do shrink to fit if needed. However it must get a little warm.

Don't buy a mech by Smok-E Mountain Mech Works :(.
Referring to the vanilla? Wasn't that the mech that catastrophically failed on that gentleman in Florida? A friend of mine has one. It seems to be fairly well made. I have to say I do believe that that was primarily user error. It hit especially close to home with me as that poor man and his family only live half a dozen miles or so away. I even entertained the thought of paying my respects at his funeral. However I decided that that might be inappropriate. my heart goes out to his family and friends as he was a young man taken away in a horrible manner. sorry so glum

I feel for people who experience exploding batteries. You have to wonder if they knew about amp draw and battery capacity. There's been a fairly low number of publicized case of exploding batteries, so I wonder if they were sold low capacity cells for low resistance/high wattage applications. That, or the mech they bought was poorly insulated or not well designed to prevent shorting of internal wiring.

I suspect that torn shrink coverings may play into some of those. That, and cells dropped in a pocket with keys and pocket change. Mods and especially Lithium cells should go into an empty pocket, with your change and keys in the other pocket.

13. Don't be an anti-social vaper

Why? I'm an anti-social vaper for 2 great reasons...

1. I can't stand cigarette smoke anymore so I refuse to vape around smokers in a smoking section. Not only that, but too many of them start asking you questions OOOOOOOR, they tell you how bad vaping is for you all the while they are smoking a cigarette!!!

2. I have never found a vaper in real life that I like. They are all like, DOOOOD, you vape!? What falvor are you vaping? What's that tank? Man, I love it, it's so healthy, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

I want to enjoy my vape, not spend my vape time dealing with vapers and smokers ;)

sez the guy on a vape forum! ;)
Ive been bugged into vaping discussions by strangers while Im just trying to have a quick peaceful time out..... Solidarity..... yay.

I dont mind vaping with tobacco users, theyre a quiet solitary down trodden lot that seldom look up and make eye contact. Conversation isnt an issue, theyre busy trying to suck every last bit of crap out of their cig as efficiently as possible and dont have time for chat. I know this for a fact.

The difference between me being here on a vaping forum talking about vaping and hating talking about in in the real world to smokers and other vapers, is because people here are not annoying to me because they are talking about things I want to talk about AAAAAAAAAANNNNND (drumroll please) it wasn't forced upon me - I came here looking for it myself. ;) Not to mention, if I'm smoking in a "smokers section" I'm usually at work or some other public place where I have limited time or thinking about something important or want a breather.

As far as smokers keeping to themselves, that's not my experience with smokers at all. They have constantly tried to strike up conversation with me about my vape. I tried my best to look like I wasn't interested in talking by making no eye contact and such, but to no avail!

Many moons ago, I have tried talking to smokers who approached me about vaping until I realized it is a very frustrating thing to do and a lost cause. Vaping is like quitting - you have to be totally ready for it or it won't work. There is plenty of info between vape shops and the internet for someone who is serious. Now, if I detect someone IS serious about vaping and I feel like it, I might help them, but all the stars have to be aligned properly :). If not, I just tell them their best bet is to find a vape shop and ask them since they deal with "switchers" on a daily basis. Besides, I'm not up with the latest equipment. All my stuff is over 2 years old now and three's probably beginner setups out there that are better than what I remember (egos and clearomizers lol). I would have no idea what equipment to recommend to them today. I'm set in my ways and haven't bought anything but juice for quite some time now.

Regardless, even if they didn't try to talk to me, it still doesn't fix the fact that the smell of cigarette smoke makes me want to vomit until I'm deader than dead. I can smell it a mile away and it aggravates me so bad. I wish it didn't but it does. It's so offensive. I dunno, maybe I acquired an allergy toward it? It's possible, I suppose. But I also do not want to smell like it myself. I have gone over 20 years smelling like an ashtray, I done with that chit.

I was just having a kind of a light hearted dig at you, at myself, and at smokers and vapers in general. I totally understand the points you were making :toast:

I figured that but felt I had to defend myself after receiving 2 "dislikes".

I'm done with being the SJW of vaping. Let someone else do it. I don't have the tolerance for smoke nor the will anymore.

I vape everywhere even with smokers but it all depends on where I am often I will hold a few more seconds to stealth vape in places not allowed to vape.
I use a old cell phone holder attached to my power wheel chair to hold my mod and tank. You could probably get one to hang off your belt. I also pack a complete kit for emergencies while out of my home.
I am a DIY maker for my e liquids and do a few friends as well to keep their costs down. I use plastic bottles for them and glass for me..........I have lots as I clean up all the bottles that come with the extract as well. One friend loves very strong butterscotch so I make it heavy in extracts for him (adding a bit of cream and marshmallow to make it extra smooth for him. Sometimes I add a bit of nut flavor to his mixes. He loves them and gets a lot of questions on what flavor (he is a sub ohm vaper) and gets comments on the nice smell from his. Making for others is a matter of finding the right levels for them just as I did for myself years ago.
I told him if asked to say it is an expensive custom flavor lol never know :)
I have never had any serious battery issues other than the old ego twists that the buttons stopped working or the charging doesn't get them to work.

My biggest issue is what do you do with the batteries that are dead or not working perfectly (safely). I have been getting people to drop them off at recycle place but I don't know if they are handling them the right way yet as most batteries they take are not vaping ones. What do you all do?

Ideally discharge them as much as possible, then wrap them with tape making sure to cover the negative and positive terminals. This isn't a requirement of taking them to a recycling point, but the power in an 18650 requires additional safety considerations imo.

A small and possibly slightly pedantic point, there are no such thing as vaping batteries. The batteries we use in our mods are made by large companies like Sony and Samsung or LG who manufacture them for applications like power tools and flash lights. In fact many of them have issued public disclaimers distancing themselves legally from use of their product in unsanctioned applications like vaping.
Then of course there are the rewrappers who replace the original plastic wrap, then market them directly to vapers along with the implication that they were made specifically for that purpose. In addition they usually print inflated performance claims on them to justify a large price markup.

A useful educational tidbit that I agree with. :thumb:

battery pack with BMS

18650 batteries are designed to be used ONLY in battery packs with battery management chips. When used outside of their intended application (ie for vaping devices) the manufacturers get a wedgie.
