Just found out from my buddys mom that ecigs are not to be used on the plane she works for us airways and she told me that ecigs aren`t allowed to be used. We had the same rules when I was at Universal Technical Institute but back then I was an analog smoker and didn`t know of the wonderful world of vaping

sd mini with mini carto is ideal for a stealth vape . hold it in a bit longer and no vapour comes out anyway .

Smoking is not allowed on our airplanes. I had a long discussion with a flight attendant who was amazed at my gear, setup, etc. and literally lurked for ten minutes checking it all out and learning about vaping, differences in smoking, how I used vaping to quit smoking, etc. While she gently admonished me not to vape on the plane, she also told me that the airline's policy is based on the fact that the FDA has not said whether vaping is safe or not. This gives the impression that they would allow it if vaping was "declared safe" by the FDA, then it "would be allowed." I seriously doubt this would ever be the case. Personally, I think it's a PC thing, and I can certainly see why they wouldn't want a passenger blowing vapor clouds around the cabin. After all, they were pretty happy about the smoking ban on airplanes.

While I should always follow the rules in these situations, I must confess that I do find myself occasionally stealth vaping, i.e., small inhales, long holds, slow exhales, etc. and using the facilities about once an hour to vape seriously. I know it's wrong and I'm a bad boy, but that's just me. I do respect others, for the most part, and do whatever I can to minimize my vaping impact, including befriending everyone that I ever sit next too with a good degree of gusto, while turning on the charm. It seems to me that I keep the vapor to a near undetectable level. I haven't been turned in yet, thank God, that would be mortifying. A doctor sitting next to me asked me if I had asthma. I thought, "Good one."

The good news is that most airports allow vaping and I have not found one that doesn't yet. Also, while I'm probably being judged up and down by the non-vaping public for vaping in the airport, it doesn't seem that way to me, and I am not oblivious to the concerns of others in the least. Also, I kinda feel that I'm a vaping ambassador in the world most of the time, so I try to be sensitive, courteous, polite and gracious, while still vaping openly to preserve our vaping rights. It's a delicate balancing act for me, most of the time. Plus I just love vaping and I resist all unreasonable restrictions on my right to vape, whatever that may be. That's why I feel guilty stealth vaping on the plane and in the lavatories. I'm not losing sleep over this, but I remain concerned. I would love to hear your views on this, as well as any confessions you may be willing to share. I think I'm still on topic with this question. Vape on!

Anyone ever have those overhead air things on while taking off in a jetliner? The airports are FULL of exhaust. Gag. And they're worried about the air quality due to e-cigs? Really?

Not all planes ban e-cigs.I forget the name of the airline but theres one that used to hand them out to smokers during 8 hour flights.Maybe one of the other veterans can come refresh my memory?

I remember something about that- but I'm thinking that it wasn't a US based airline? None of the major US commercial carriers allow it AFAIK- at least none of the one's i've used recently.

Youre correct. The Obama administration banned e-cig use on all domestic flights over concerns of the vapor being harmful and the confusion they said it could cause.

Still doesnt stop me from doing a stealth vape every now and then with my hoodie pulled up :)

I think that the FAA regulations never got beyond the press release stage...and i know i saw restrictions on use included in inflight magazines prior to the press releases saying that the FAA might ban them. I think it's still down to the airlines.

(i'm not willing to risk vaping on a plane, I'm chicken  )
