Hi, first time posting. Really not sure if we're supposed to introduce ourselves first or such :p but after a week quitting smoking and switching to vapor, I've had a problem. I recently spent a good chunk of change on a 3D tv, and spent even more money on the glasses for it. Last night I was sprawled out, watching a movie that came in my glasses bundle, vaping away when I noticed a splotch in the corner of one of the lenses. I didn't get concerned until about 10 minutes into the movie (probably 10 or so vapes), when I realized that the splotch was starting to obscure my vision. I took off the glasses and saw a giant oil stain looking blob on the left lens. I wasn't doing anything but puffing away on my ecig so my first thought was that the vapor had done something, so I blew on them with it... and it made it even bigger.

Now just to note, while I vape I tend to let it kind of just waive out of my mouth, without blowing it right away :p I like that the vapor tends to float around longer then smoke. I'm sure I was letting it just sort of sit in my face/the glasses before I'd blow it away/it'd disappear. I was laying on my side also, so I'm sure it was hanging around at the side of my face. I'm thinking that the moisture did it?

Here's a list of all the technical stuff, to give you a better picture of what was in play >.> :

ecig: Riva ego: with 510 atty and carts.
Liquid: pg 80%/vg 20%
3D glasses: Shutter glasses, lithium battery powered

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, or if anyone has an explanation (such as "you're dumb, moisture is bad mmmkay") Any feedback would be awesome though.

Nice to join the boards/quit smoking. Thanks.

Nothing to offer, sorry. But, very interested in what others have to offer. Not intimately familiar with the hardware. But, you state it's an oily blob, well ... that's not moisture. I'll shut up now since I'm ignorant, but I'll be watching the thread out of curiosity. I hope the damage, if that's what it is, is not permanent.

Welcome to ECF.

Well besides the weird splotch, there's tiny cracks around it, and when I turn the glasses on a small section flickers :\

from what ive understood its actually sucking the moisture out of the air to create a vapor its not really moisture...hence why you get dried out if it was moisture noone would ever be complaining of dry lips ect ect so i would assume vaping has NOTHING to do with it...i wear glasses 24/7 and i do the exact same you do...now for the "moisture" to damage your glasses....one would assume id see SOME KIND of moisture on my glasses on my window while driving anything!! and ive nvr seen it...sooo id say go get an exchange or a refund if you can but the e cig i HIGHLY doubt would be the culprit even if it is indeed moisture your blowing out..ud think the ppl with glasses would be like oh yeah man my e cigs always fogging up my glasses...

yeah then it seems your glasses are cracked and just being damaged....generally whenever water and electronics are introuced youd know because they just wouldnt work water is a conductor so it would literally fuse all the small circuit board wiring together so id probably rule out moisture but you nvr know

i honestly couldnt tell you anymore then assuming your glasses have just shorted out or something theres literraly nothign in the e cig that could do that aside from poruing your e juice into your glasses. i LITERALLY just took off my glasses took a huge hit and blew it on my glasses and i didnt even get a speckle of condinsation....soooo no man its not your e cig. this honestly just makes e cigs look bad...not talkign .... about you man buttt i woulda tested the thoery out more b4 starting a thread saying e cigs ruined your 300 dollar 3d glasses

I wear reading glasses and have got e liquid on them numerous times by not being careful enough when blowing out an atty. I have a couple of cheap pairs and neither one of them have suffered any damage from the eliquid...hope you can get a refund on yours.
Welcome to the forum and enjoy that new tv :).

So, you seem to be saying the 'cracks' aren't physical cracks in the glasses, but they appear electronically in your view ... right?

I highly doubt vaping has anything to do with this problem. More likely, in my opinion that you've got a defective unit.

One of the many things I enjoy about vaping is the lack of film deposit on my car's windshield. But, again, I'll go back to watching the thread. Bedtime for me.

(only thing I can think of) If those 3D glasses are polarized, something in the mist \ vapor is changing the focal points of them there lenses? ... I know derh about 3d TV.:vapor:

i thought of that at first too but my glasses are polarized and have that antiglare tint for computer usage....im still getting nothing whatsoever like i said aside from dumping your juice in them its not gonna be the ecig man just try to get em switche d out

Not trying to make ecigs look bad at all (not sure how them messing with one item would). Also why would I test something that happened to me randomly? :p I've been putting off joining the boards for a few days, and when this occured I thought it would be a good time to come in and ask about it, and maybe warn people "Don't be stupid like me. Don't use your ecig with 3D glasses) :p I do thank you for thinking of possibilities. This probably wasn't the best way to introduce myself >.>

no its fine man alot of ppl woulda jumped to the same conclusion but you could tested it out by vaping on anything glass or even your hand to see if it got...moist...lol but what i mean by saying that an e cig messed up your glasses....if i knew my e cig would ruin my electrical equpiment or damage my glasses...id think twice b4 vaping
