I've just received an e-mail from Intellicig.com about their new liquid - ECOPure, which is apparently made in the UK and has no PG, and only 4 ingredients.

Question - does anyone know what these 4 ingredients are?

4 seems rather few for achieving a variety of flavours, as I would imagine most would need a combination of a number of separate compounds to produce an specific flavour. It may be that they are talking about 4 ingredients in the base liquid. Can anyone shed any light?

"We are proud to announce the launch of our very own e-liquid ECOpure.
After over 6 months of intensive research and development ECOpure has been to created satisfy the demand from customers for a simple and clean e-liquid made in the UK.
Because we manufacture ECOpure ourselves we can guarantee the contents of the product are the same each and every batch, in turn this will allows us to certify the quality of the product.
We have commissioned various tests to be undertaken on ECOpure, as well as testing the raw ingredients purchased within the UK.
Additionally we have tested the vapour that is emitted from the Intellicig to ensure no changes are made during the heating process.
Much of the scepticism regarding e-cigs surrounds the fact that the contents of the cartridges are made in China, now Intellicig has the answer with our ECOpure range.
ECOpure contains no Propylene Glycol which can be found in most other e-liquids and in fact ECUpure contains just 4 ingredients.
ECOpure is available in a few simple flavours supplied 20ml bottles with a child proof lid.
ECOpure can be purchased online at www.intellicig.com"

The flavours are Fresh, Menthol, Tobacco and Rich Tobacco and yes they do only contain 4 ingredients -
aqueous vegetable derived glycerol, deionised water, Nicotine and flavouring.
I have been fortunate to take part in trialling them and they are clean and simple. Having read dozens of DIY posts with some very 'interesting' recipes, Intellicig have created a liquid using minimal ingredients that does the trick. I asked if they would be offering a whole range of exotic flavours but they doubted that they would as they set out to find the right blend for the cleanest liquid on the market that would satisfy vapers and have succeeded. If you really want roasted squirrel testicle flavour then you can always add extra flavouring to the Fresh liquid as that is very clean and neutral and will no doubt form a base for many a home brewer looking for a base liquid containing nicotine. I was also told that extensive tests were conducted to guarantee the suitability of VG and that their liquid passed with flying colours. My personal favourite is the Menthol zero nic as it delivers a good amount of vapour, a nice mild hit and a cool blast of menthol that appears to be at the core as you inhale - it's like smoking a Polo Mint, beautiful!!
The liquid is produced entirely in the UK and not sourced in China like virtually all of the others on offer, which gives them much more control over content and quality. I know there will be some people on here queing up to have a pop at them for whatever reason (maybe for not being secretive enough!:p) but I can say that this is the cleanest liquid I have tried and I love it. Since going zero nic I vape a lot less but still enjoy it when I do - one problem with Chinese 'zero nic liquids' is that they sometimes contain nicotine and that is a problem in countries such as Greece and Denmark where they have been tested and found to be 'illegal'.

So I just found this on dictionary.com:

glyc⋅er⋅ol   /ˈglɪs
thinsp.png
əˌrɔl, -ˌrɒl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [glis-uh-rawl, -rol] Show IPA
–noun a colorless, odorless, syrupy, sweet liquid, C3H8O3, usually obtained by the saponification of natural fats and oils: used for sweetening and preserving food, in the manufacture of cosmetics, perfumes, inks, and certain glues and cements, as a solvent and automobile antifreeze, and in medicine in suppositories and skin emollients.

Also called glycerin, glycerine.

So they are basically replacing PG with glycerine?

I assumed that was just VG. Is this different, Lu?

Well, I don't want to assume anything but "aqueous vegetable derived glycerol"......could be VG? I really don't want to simplify it as such but on the surface, could appear that way.

How was that for an indirect answer? :D

Aw thanks! I love kitties!

I read somewhere on the forums about vaping VG as being a BAD thing so I'm not sure about their liquid if it's vg. Ah well maybe I'll order some and give it a try!

If you read the other posts you will see that they tested the liquid AND the vapour. I'll bet the results will dispel the rumours about vaping VG being dangerous. At least they have had the testing done professionally rather than just make assumptions based on an out-of-context fact.

Very well could be, I saw that they had the testing done. What makes me a little angry is that it's not available on their website without requesting it. I try no to be alarmist about such things as the jury is still out on everything e-cig, was more wondering how they taste /vape.

hi, does anyone know what is the difference in the new intellicig atomisers? , they have a white plastic bit inside , under the steel wick.I bought a starter kit for my friend(that has tried mine with a month old atomiser, different from the new one) and the problem is that there is no throat hit at all... lots of smoke but no no throat hit!!
Has anyone tried it??

It's a shame that one of the mods couldn't merge the several threads on this subject as I answered your questions on another thread.
I've pasted it below:

I spoke with Suzanne at Intellicig this afternoon and they had sold over 500 bottles since last night, which in itself says something about the company. She told me that all information and test reports (real reports and not bought from some 'institute' in a far off land) will be published on their website very soon.
Menthol is clean and minty.
Fresh is a clean neutral 'smoke' and a good base.
Mild is a light tobacco flavour and again clean tasting.
Rich is a smooth tobacco flavour and, guess what, clean.
The flavours are subtle, the vapour good, the throat hit is fine, although I'm using zero now which are more gentle.
The overall impression is how clean they taste.
Whenever I have asked a question I have been given an answer, although it helps to ask the question of someone at Intellicig rather than on this forum.
As for being 'news', maybe the first UK produced eliquid doesn't warrant that tag?
Alan.

Bit of a cheat counting "flavorings" as one ingredient, innit? I mean, it's even plural in itself, flavoringS. :D I mean if you do that, I'd bet most of them qualify as only having 4 ingredients.

ha! I was thinking that too.
In fact really my own home-made juice only has one ingredient - it's called "contents", or more colloquially "y'know, stuff" :)

Still, it's good to see manufacturers appearing outside China (not that I have anything against Chinese juice - the flavours are excellent, and the prices will be hard to beat!) It shows the market's maturing, and preparing to go mainstream.

That advert confirms that it is manufactured in the uk by intellicig.......mind you I like the price better than buying from intellicig.

funny how it can be made in UK, sold and shipped to a company in China and then sold and shipped to you for less than buying it directly and travelling many thousands of miles less [unless it has been knocked off]
