I may try it in the future, before the FDA jump all over it of course. I guess it would be a huge waste of money at the moment since I either can't taste the juice or it all tastes sickly and awful.

Maybe I should have already looked into this, but how is it looking the FDA will affect the vape future? Will high power devices and sub ohm tanks be a thing of the past? If so, I really need a mod with removable batteries. It will be my excuse for buying the Kbox 120W.

What kind of high wattages are you guys reaching? I almost burned my mouth off at 55W. I could imagine getting much higher. It must be a HOT vape.
I vape at 27 watts on my Subtank, for both MTL and DL, and 50 watts on my Aromamizer for DL. I'm struggling a little on my Aromamizer because in addition to my vaper's tongue, the nicotine hit is now much stronger due to the duel coil set up.

What percentage do you think you MTL and DL? Which ohm coils do you use in the Subtank? Isn't vapers tongue the pits. I have felt so crappy lately that the thought crossed my mind to start smoking again. I wouldn't of course but I'm currently getting very little joy from vaping and dealing with quitters flu on top. I hope it passes soon.

I haven't had the need to go past 50watts yet; however, I did experiment. I think my lungs need heal more before I'll be able to comfortably tackle higher watts. I can see needing more power with RDAs, and I might get a Sapor soon. For mods, I have my heart set on a second RX200. I just love it's form factor. It offers so much for such a low price.

I had to fire up my computer for this one LOL. Too many quotes in one post :)

I only MTL in the mornings. The rest of the day I DL vape. Currently I have a duel coil set up in my Subtank Mini, which reads at 0.4 oHms.

No, my arm pits smell worse :p

It's the winner's flu! It's only quitter's flu when one breaks ones resolve. I drink a lot of water and fruit juice, and even though it does not magically fix my vaper's tongue, it is most certainly keeping the flu at bay.

I just toned down the watts to 39 on my Aromamizer and the throat hit has reduced, but it's still there. On top of that I have Vape the Rainbow juice loaded up in it; it's supposed to a skittles vape. Even though I can not taste it, I can sense something funky when I take a swig of water or when I switch to my Subtank :)

I had a bit of Vapors Tongue for a few weeks not long ago. Everything tasted like burnt cotton! So I switched around flavors a good bit, would rotate between MTL and LH with sub ohm tanks and RTA's.. It passes.. :D

Wow, you didn't quit smoking recently like us. How often does it happen to you?

I'm wondering whether it is worth paying the extra few pounds to get the Kbox 200W rather than the 120W? Any thoughts on this? Would I be likely to ever use the 200W as I get further into vaping or is 120W likely to be enough in the long term?
That will depend on your shinyitus. No matter which you buy, you'll always wonder if you might like the other better :) In truth, the 120 is likely to do you; you said 55 watts was too hot. I feel the same way, but I didn't know it until after I had a couple of 200 watt mods and saw for myself. Even then, I bought two more 200 watt mods-- RX200s-- and run them at less than half power, because they are great mods and the price was unbeatable.

The FDA won't touch us in the UK. The government helped out by the MHRA (could be bent towards Pharma companies ?) are being forced into this by the EU.
Tanks = Over 2ml BANNED, No question. You might be able to get some in from elsewhere (China), but they will not be on sale by November. The 'date' is May, but some period of emptying the shelves/selling stock seems to be on the cards.
From May 20th, advertising is banned. All youtube content 'promoting' e-cigs might also be illegal.

  • The maximum e liquid bottle size is 10ml.
  • The maximum strength of e liquid is 2%/20mg.
  • Every single variant of e liquid and device capable of vapourising e liquid must be tested and the MHRA must be notified of each product and its test results six months before it can be sold.
  • The maximum e liquid capacity of tanks/clearomisers is 2ml.
  • Tanks/clearomisers must be ‘leakproof at the point of refilling’.
  • The advertising of any and all vaping products is banned. This includes physical advertising and electronic communications, such as emails and social media platforms.

Mods might well escape, we don't know for sure.
Even 'old' tanks under 2ml that are not leakproof will start to come off sale.
Do you need 200w? Not in my opinion. Should you get one for a few £ $ more? Why not... but let's not forget nothing complicated last forever (mods), so the power of the mod is less relevant than the quality.

Have a few, own a mechanical or two, get your tanks bought and collect rebuildable stuff.

I'll come back in 8 hours... got to earn some money. :)

Ah, I was looking around ecf and started to feel particularly nostalgic. I loved this thread and was always excited to check in and see what everyone was up to. I received some awesome advice here. It really set me off in the right direction.

How is everyone? I've now ventured into the world of rebuildables. I now own a Derringer clone and have a Velocity clone and a Sapor on the way (Fasttech so god only knows when I'll receive it). I also plan on getting the Mad Hatter and Freakshow Mini in the near future. In the way of tanks, I went with the Aromamizer and will be buying the Avocado next, closely followed by the Goblin Mini. A few people on here said the Aromamizer was sub par when it came to flavour but I've found it damn near as close to the Derringer. It's certainly better than the Subtank.

Well, that's my update. I'd love to hear what's happening with you guys.

Wowsa

Lets see.. It's a Sunday, I'm cranky, it's hot, and I'm working- I'm bloody marvelous :)

Good to hear from you, again. I'm well, in good health and happy. Accumulated a fair bit of hardware and juice since we spoke and inherently my wallet is a little light. Right now I'm sucking on a Moto Plus; I like it :)

Edit: How are you dear my dear? Glad to see you've jumped into the deep end of rebuiding. Have fun, keep calm and vape on.
