Personally I like to use a 2 cent fuse when I use my mech regardless of the batteries I have in it. If you get a hard short, all bets are off, so for the sake of a $5-6 fuse, it's worth it in my opinion.

Secondly, I have the i2, I have had no issues, it is a recommended charger on the forums by most people (stop before you even start Rick :) ) but I have also seen a few posts reporting issues with them. From their posts and descriptions, it's often hard to tell if the battery or the charger was at fault - but all I can say is most people do seem to recommend them and use them with no problems at all.

No need to, the fuse is there to protect against external shorts, too high current draw situations and low voltage drain, the circuitry in APV's and the kick do the same thing...in fact the fuse can cause problems with that circuitry, in straight mechanicals yes use them...if you use them in a rig that has those protections built in they are not needed

Description of 2Cent fuse
Lithium ion batteries, while generally described as "safe," have been known to vent hot gasses and in some cases, explode. The leading cause of a venting battery is a hard short. The Vape Safe is a mechanical fuse that trips if it senses a short in the mod by shutting down the battery. The Vape Safe can also help protect variable voltage circuitry, hot springs and other circuitry inside your mod that can be damaged in the case of a hard short.
If the Vape Safe Protection Circuit is triggered your mod will cease to operate. This Fuse will reset and is reusable !
I use Efest IMR's in my Vamo V3 and my mechanicals with a kick, most recommended site for those are RTD Vapor
