I just bought the ego aio by joy tech starter kit. I was a half pack a day smoker of Marlboro Menthols. I currently have 12 mg and 6 mg nicotine ejuice, not sure if this is high. I read this device is sub ohm and wanted to know where most started at in regards to nicotine level. Thanks

It's just about classed as sub-ohm. Sure, the coils are 0.6 but the overall power is not true cloud-mania.

Let's say it vapes at 25 watts on average, then that's like 12.5 watts using twice as strong juice.

Half a pack a day is not many cigarettes. 12mg at 25 watts is too much for almost every type of user although no two people are the same.

One has to factor in the strength of the liquid and the amount consumed. How much does the tank hold?
If you only vaped 1 tank and took less than 10 puffs per vape, then 12mg might be OK.

The tank holds 2 ml. I did about a ml of 12 mg the first day. Yesterday I used my 6 mg e juice and did about 2 ml. I might try to mix it with 0 as I am looking to eventually quit altogether. I did not become nauseous or exhibit any symptoms with the 12 mg other than not being able to fall asleep.

That is very common. You might have over-done the Nicotine, but even people who go very steady on their vaping suffer from a few issues, particularly with this.
1 ml of 12mg is a very good job i.m.o. Well done!
Looking back, when we were using 7 watt vapes (the famous eGo battery with a basic clearomizer) 3ml of 18mg was kind of average.
It's important you don't see 1ml of 12mg as 12mg yield. Neither e-cigarettes or real cigarettes give you all the nicotine in the product. Real cigarettes lose about 90% of the Nicotine by burning the tobacco.
(I know...kind of ironic). E-cigarettes are more efficient in that respect.

You can get cubis coils for AIO in .5, .6, 1.0 and 1.5. It comes with .6 ohm coils. So you will be vaping at about 22-29 watts.

At that level 6mg is likely plenty for a 1/2 pad smoker. I use the 1.0 ohm coils (13-18 watts) to get more battery life and use save liquid and I use 3mg liquid. But I'm a long time vaper who has tapered down over the years.

Welcome and glad you joined. 3mg seems to me to be about average.
