eGo battery dying, charger not connecting to battery

Battery not connecting to charger, batteries not staying charged. I screw the battery into the wall charger and the light does not change to the red charging mode, I have to sit there and twist it and mess with it for a good 15-20minutes before it finally clicks in. Then I have to watch it because it will turn green before it has even charged for 5 minutes. This is extremely frustrating. I have two batteries but only one good one that last for a few days. WHen that one dies, the other one last for ten minutes tops. My mom directed me to this site bc she said it was a wealth of info. PLease, ANY suggestions are welcome, I'm desperate for some kind of special tricks!

You haven't said how long you've had this battery. If you've had it awhile, clean out where you screw it into the battery with alittle rubbing alcohol and dry it, then plug it back in and see if that helped (could be a bad connection due to gunk build-up?) Other than that, I'd say if it's still in warrenty return it for another one. Maybe someone else will come in here and have other ideas.

I would say to contact the vendor. If they are reputalbe they should stand behind their products.

Sometimes if you screw atomisers/cartomisers on too tight or screw the battery too tight into the charger it can push the battery post down into the battery so it wont make contact anymore.

I would recommend trying to clean both the battery connection and the charger connection before you try this next step.

You can try to prise the battery post up a little with anything you can find to get in there. It's that post you can see in the middle of the battery where the threads are. Just wiggle it up a little bit, not a lot as you may raise it too high or pull it all the way out which you don't want to do! It's not too common for the battery post to be pushed down but it does happen from time to time. If that is the problem, don't screw the battery into the charger too tight or screw an atomiser/cartomiser on too tight.

Same happened to mine... I just pulled the middle post up a hair and it worked fine after that.

Green is both a signal of no connect or fully charged. It sounds like your symptoms are from poor connection. Contact the vendor if you've had it less than 30 days, for a replacement. Otherwise, you can order a new charger cable for about $6. Everyone needs a backup.

You may have a loose connection where the jack is soldered to the circuit board inside the charger.You said that one battery is fine and the other doesn't charge properly. As others have said, your center pin may be pushed back slightly. Use a jumbo paper clip with one leg straightened and a tiny right angle bend on the end to go down into the space next to the center pin on the battery and ease it up slightly. Pull on one side and the other until you get it to rise just a small amount.
