ego battery woes

Seven days after receiving my eGo kit one of the batteries died. I just left it by my computer with cart/atomizer attached for a couple of hours (I use my passthrough whenever I can), when picked it up, and the battery was dead. Wouldn't charge and smelt like burnt plastic from the threaded end. The supplier said he'd replace it so I sent it to him. The replacement is on its way. Five days later the second battery went dead. This time I left it in the charger overnight, the charger was hot like hell in the morning, the green light on and the bat dead with the same plastic smell. Not sure what to do now. I wrote to the supplier but no reply so far, he probably thinks I'm a jerk.

I've almost exclusively used cartomizers with my eGo, never drip, never dropped the damn thing so I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I confess I cleaned the threaded end of the battery before putting it into charger only occasionally because there wasn't any moisture there.

Has my supplier a bad batch? Am I doing something wrong? I really enjoyed that first week with eGo batteries, but I'm still alive with my 510 supplies.

Sorry for the rant. Thanks for any kind of advice.

He must have charged each batt at least once, as is required w/ a new kit. I am assuming he did charge both up, if not then *shrug* I dunno.

The original supplier's note said not to worry with bat conditioning and it's OK to use one right away and put another one in the charger, what I did.

Maybe there is a bad batch of ego batts coming around. They`re just so good to so many people, and the people that have been having problems have been having them with multiple batts, which would suggest the charger, or just a bad batch I suppose. Not just my experience, but reading this board the ego batts have been for the most part trouble free, other than the occasional button problem.

Not your problem, with the new batteries they have no memory. I used one of mine right out of the box, and it performs like the day I got it.

I had this same issue with a hello battery. I think sometimes they are just a bad batch. If it's a good supplier he will replace it but be sure you replace the charger too. My hello battery blew out the atomizers with it's weird charging thing so don't use your good attys on the bad battery. It's a real bummer when you get bad batterys/chargers but that's why I always go with places that offer warranties. I am sure the supplier knows you not a jerk, they probably deal with this issue now and then.

I don't think you have to search hard to find people who have recieved DOA batteries or Batteries that kacked out in the first week of any brand.

I think the e-Cig demand is forcing China to just crank out as much as they can, as fast as they can.

I'm sure that if the supplier is on this forum that they will do what it takes to replace your batteries. A hassle but I'm sure you will get it resolved.

No idea. The supplier is respectable (on this forum) though.

There are respectble suppliers who sell "generic" immitations of the Joye product and are up front about it (e.g.TastyVapors.us). Just ask them, and they will tell you. I got my Joye eGo from NicotineNirvana.com and it works great.

Just because it says Joye or Janty or whatever doesn't mean that you can not have problems.

My eGo is a Janty. When it arrived, one of the batteries had stripped threads. The replacement battery that was sent to me had a button that would stick in the on sometimes.

If think all this stuff is made in one huge factory anyway. And even if it isn't, China does have any copyright laws so who is to say what is real and what is a knock-off.

The key is buy from a seller who will replace your item or refund your money.

The first eGo kit I bought I got 2 bad batts... Dietsmokes replaced them immediately.
I have been on the replacements for almost 5 months now.

Another kit I had had a bad one...
Cignot replaced it immediately.

Seems it happens to a lot of folks...
A good supplier is key...
If your supplier is a registered supplier, chances are they should help you out.
