I purchased an eGo, I think, from a woman who lives about an hour away from me. She ships for free, but I was impatient so I spent about $100 with a few juices, after driving an hour south to her house. She pieced together an eGo for me and mixed some flavors. No box or manual or anything. No distinguishing marks, but it looks like the pictures I see of what an eGo looks like. 12 hours after buying it the lo-res atomizer goes. She sent me another one though as a replacement.
Here's where it gets worse: So about 3 weeks into enjoying my eGo, I notice the charger that plugs into the wall isn't switching from red to green any more. I thought maybe it wasn't screwed on all the way or something. I made sure, but the light stayed red. I figured the battery must be charged since it's been charging for nearly 18 hours. I unplugged that battery (pass thru) and screwed in the other battery (non pass thru) I got when I purchased the eGo. I like to charge the other battery and switch them out before I even have to worry about having a dead battery. The same thing with this battery too, the red light on the charger isn't turning green after hours and hours of leaving it on the charger.. It just stays red the whole time. Also, for whatever reason the battery that I had taken off that was on for hours, didn't last past the drive in to work. When I got home for lunch, I noticed neither battery was holding a charge. I go to take a drag and the light just starts blinking on the battery and I get barely any hit.
So I ended up buying a pack of cigarettes after three weeks of not smoking one.
I noticed that the wall charger, where it screws onto the battery, the plastic looked melted. I unscrewed the charger and see a melted spot under the small circuit board inside, with a huge black burned spot on the circuit board.
Is that something that happens often? Do I have to worry about the house burning down? It was enough to melt the plastic on the charger and burn the circuit board and apparently ruin both of my batteries. Now the pass thru won't even charge this battery. So I have two dead batteries after only a few weeks of owning this thing. I'm disappointed with the pass thru too. I figured while plugged in, even if the battery is dead, I could get a good hit. Nope, within 1 second it blinks and the hit is small. I can keep doing this a bunch of times in a row, but it's not as enjoyable. I get tired of doing it before I get enough nicotine.
Did I get garbage generic parts since there was no box or manual that came with it? There were no distinguishing marks anywhere. The parts look pretty generic, although I have no idea.
So now I am waiting for two new batteries and a new charger that should arrive on Thursday, from a place I heard of on here.
Has anyone ever had a melted charger or ruined batteries? I heard the batteries need to be replaced ever so often, but is it usually only a few weeks after they're new? Do the batteries just stop working like that all of a sudden. I figured the charge time would get less and less over time until you just decided to replace them. These here went from lasting all day to not holding a charge, overnight.
