My process for the ego-c goes like this.

Wiped down new atty real good.

Blow through both ends to get oil out and wipe down again.

Fill tank to 90%

Assemble everything.

Take 2 or 3 heavy draws without hitting button. Look for bubbles to pop up in tank. This shows it's wicking properly and priming the atty.

Take a few normal puffs. Do not inhale. Just blow it out right away.

Vape normal. At this point there should be no burnt taste. And monitor the tank here and there early on to see if bubbles are popping up after almost every draw.

Just to letcha know, I've had my Ego-C a few days. And it was litterily about an hour into my first tank until i -FINALLY- got rid of that god forsaken disgusting taste. All that nasty fluid is also all over and wick, and in the atomizer head. I went through about 1/4 of a tank until the flavor finally went to normal. Take VERY LONG non-enhaling drags, and try to burn as much of it off as you can. Its what i had to do. Im happy as .... now. I almost lost my cool also about 20 minutes into it.

You could stop vaping plastic and learn to use Boge 2 ohm cartomizers which are what most people who start on any kind of Ego tanks end up switching to. I recommend thin clear juices (I use juices around 80PG/20VG)

Also - I did not read the whole thread - if you are trying to use thick high VG juices in any kind of Ego tank (C or T) then the juice is probably too sluggish and cannot keep the coil area wet fast enough, so atomizer overheats and burns plastic?

I tried eGo-C for weeks (not any more) but I found there are at least 4 suppliers has different type of atomizer head (i'm not talking about LR or regular).

With Truman, there is very good chance the wick is too much and doesn't fit enough (or stuffed) to tiny pipe (so juice cannot reach to coils)

KDS has completely different structure you cannot take off the roof part and you cannot access or see the wick.

Original Joyetech and Totally Wicked atomizers are safe to use but I hate TW LR, it will change to burn taste quickly even with PG/VG 90/10 liquid.

What I'm saying here is you should check your atomizer head to see if the wick is properly placed.

I use to use TW regular atomizer and clean with ultrasonic, dry burn and replace wick once a week.

The replaceable wicks of the ego-C are OK but look a bit cheaply made . They don't like to be dry burned and all the usually cleaning methods are a waste of time . From my trials they are good for 3 or 4 days before they taste like a caked coil even with a clear juice . You can try to lengthen that time but won't be satisfied with the results . The wicks are expensive right now but lower the price to $1 to $2 and it might be worth it for a few days of an OK vape that is better than the ego-T was . Actually for the first couple of days I really liked it somewhat . I still might buy some more wicks because it is not all bad but if the price stays the same it won't be that often .

Where are you buying replacement wicks?

I have to thank Cignot for getting me to MY Vape, Reo Grand with Resurrector cartos. I had Ego-t and had just purchased new atty for $16.99 and it didn't work at all, was told it was a wicking problem and to watch a video to learn how to mod the wick, for $16.99 I believe it should work out of the box without me having to play with it. When I purchased this atty nothing on the web site mentioned anything about wicking issues. That was it for me and the Ego-t. Went on to find what worked, I did and all is good. Good Luck

One thing I noticed was that you said you blew out the atomizer from the BATTERY end. We blow them out from the cartridge end. That way, the primer is blown OUT the battery end. If you do this from the battery end, you direct the primer up into the wick and the barrel. One a standard atty, you would be further saturating the bridge with primer. You want all that yuck stuff to come out the battery end of the tank or other atomizer.

And, as someone already said, VG doesn't wick well in tank atomizers. 100%Pg will leak pretty badly. 50/50, maybe up to 70pg/30vg are the limits for tanks.

That's a damned shame! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the eGo-C. When mine came, I sat in the post office parking lot, got it out, and vaped all the way home. Here's what I did:

Unboxed, screwed the atty cone onto the battery, filled a tank, inserted it into the cone and pierced the cap, turned it 90 degrees, drew 3 times without power, puffed 10 times without inhaling, then vaped the juicy goodness.

My C convinced my friend to order one. She set it up by herself and enjoys the hell out of it.

Now and then I see where someone has a problem or unsatisfying experience and I scratch my head. I wonder if it is due to the oh so careful Chinese manufacturing process. That's my bet. The user should not have to go through a ritual or have to recite incantations from the Book of the Dead to kick off their vaping experience...

I use my C as my main vape but also have cartos (for when I am away from home and forget my juice) and a dual coil tank on a passthrough battery for vaping while surfing ECF. I have a drip tip atty but think I have my head up my .... because I can't seem to drip without juice getting everywhere when I pull off the mouthpiece (using only 3 drops!).

I'd get on the horn and piss n moan at the supplier until they satisfy you. They owe you that. Don't take no for an answer.

I, just like you asked for an advice for an e-cig that will deliver and keep totally me off analogs. i received many advices that sounded like "buy an ego" and read such advices given to other newbies.

i was looking for a "plug n' play" e-cig, something i can use right out of the box without caring about threading type and having to match a battery to an atomizer to a cartomizer etc. and the eGo-C seemed to be the perfect choice. So i bought an ego-c clone and it was working well right out of the box but not for long..

I know exactly the taste you are talking about, so foul. I seems to come and go at random, very strange.

i was experiencing the same difficulties. Frankly speaking, i still am. sometimes i can vape the whole day and the day after like charm, just refill the tank and enjoy great flavor, TH and great taste. while other times, it takes a lot of playing around for hours to get it working good like it should.

Sometimes, i just need to play with the tank, insert it facing downwards and tap it several times.
in other times, something goes wrong with the atomizer and i have to clean it in order to work again.
and sometimes, it seems that both (or even a third, unknown cause) just happen at the same time.

To clean the atomizer, i boil water (and make my self a cup of coffee), i put the atomizer in a cup with a drop {or three :) } of dish washing liquid, pour the water on it and stir fast with a teaspoon for a minute. then, i take it out, wash it, wipe it and allow it to dry overnight. then i make sure the wick is okay and visible enough.

I would suggest that you make sure the tank cap is WELL CLOSED as the slightest gap (if it's not fully closed) has its effect.
make sure the battery is well charged and that the wick is okay. insert the tank and tap it before inhaling.

If it doesn't work, try dripping 1-2 drops onto the spike, place the tank and inhale. if you get taste and vapor, check the tank or try another cap. if it doesn't work, try another atomizer.

it was already suggested here on ECF to use soft cap tanks and using these may help so I'd like to use this opportunity to ask the veterans here a question for both of us.
I've read there are two types of eGo tanks, type A and type B. Can anyone tell which tank will fit an eGo-C?

Hope this helps.

10 days on an Ego-C here. I used compressed air to get rid of the primer in the atty, primed it with a drop or two of juice (lightly placing a drop on the wick post and watching it slowly seep in), assembled the unit, a couple of light pulls with no battery (maybe a bit of flooding then, but better than the primer), removed the atty, cleaned up the unit, re-assembled and away I went. The first couple of hits were a bit....strong, but after that, no worries.

I have no issues with the tanks; no leaks or the like. I even do the forbidden twisting motion to get the talk angle flat to the button every time I refill and still no leaks. Lucky, I guess, but I have done so with all three tanks included with my Ego again, without any problems. Hope things improve OP....I love my Ego!

They use the type A caps. The type A tanks are used with the cone shaped atty housings. The type B Tanks are used with the cylindrical atty housings. The type B tank capacity is ~2ml.

Just to update everybody:
First off, thank you so much for all of your prompt, polite, and helpful responses. My first post one ECF was a success! So after a week, I’ve already decided that most of you were right, and that I do not like the tank system. I managed to get rid of the plastic/burnt rubber taste using the following methods:
-put my atomizer head in a plastic bag with baking soda in it, and shook it up so the baking soda would get inside
-gently poured some vinegar and let the chemical reaction get in there and help eat away any primer fluid and leftover ejuice
-I then boiled the atomizer head

After taking these steps, I got a much cleaner, smoother vape without that GUTWRENCHING taste. However, sadly, I am still unsatisfied. I am not getting the flavor that I got from my K808 cartos with my Halo G6. I have found that the tank system not only deprives the juice of its flavor, but its also a cooler vape in temperature, which I think may actually be the reason for seemingly less flavor. Either way –not for me.
So I went online today and order some echo-e dual coil cartos use with my ego-c battery. The reason for these is I like the cone shape to the ego-c and also because I like the flat-tipped mouthpiece. I do also plan on ordering some Boge cartos in the near future to try those out too.
