I'm giving myself a headache trying to figure out which one to buy...

I've been vaping for over 2 years now and vaping with my regular Ego batteries for over 1 year. However, I'm so tired of the constant search for the perfect cartomizer to pair with these awesome batteries. I've never tried the Ego-T and it looks like I'm just going to skip it and either go with the Ego-C or the Ovale Elips. Other than the price difference of the attys, I can't find much in terms of comparing either of these units.

Anyone have any opinions as to which one is the better choice?

I don't own an Ego-T, but I do have an Inferno (basically an Ego knockoff) and I used to use the tanks. As Retriever has said, there are some leaking issues when it comes to the tank system. Due to that and the short life of the tankomizer, I switched to the clearomizers. I would stay away from tank systems if I were you, but it all comes down to personal preference. Since the Ego-C had just come out, I haven't really heard of any leaking issues though. I've never used the Ovale Elips so can't comment on that.

I have the Ego-T and haven't had any leaks with the Silicon caps on the tanks, but have with the harder plastic caps. I'm switching over to the Ego-C due to cheaper atomizers and interchange with the Ego-T. I have to admit, I like the "tank" system of the Ego. It's just a pain when I'm trying to figure out mixing flavors, that's when I wish I had a direct drip system!

I got my first eGo last week, I bought it for the battery life and thought I'd never use the tanks. Being the curious person I am I did try the tank out when I bought it.... and I am still using the tank system lol. I am occasionally dripping, but so far 0 leaks with the tank (with the hard cap) at all (on either battery).

I don't overfill the tanks and I make sure to press them on well and turn them a bit before I vape.

I have an eGo-C, got it almost a month ago and overall I'm really happy with it. I've not had any problems as far as leaking goes, and the tanks are really easy to fill. I'm already upgrading to something new, but don't let that sway you, eGo parts are super easy to come by, they aren't that expensive, and you have tons of options if you want to change your device around a little.

I been using eGo-C type B, so far it have not leaked at all and flavor and the amount of vape i get every draw been very consistent. eGo-t is an old version of eGo-C, so i wouldn't try to base your opinion on what ppz say about eGo-t.
and also eGo-C has the changeable attys which is really convenient because it is cheaper to replace and easy to clean, not like the older versions where u have to replace the whole middle piece.
overall i am very happy with my eGo-C!

I have had my egoT since jan.2, and still using the original kit parts. I had one tank leak, but while lurking on the forum I saw someone advise using a syringe to refill rather than popping the caps off every time. Started doing that with a fresh one shortly after, and voila! No leaks! I too am curious about other tank systems for noobs, as I haven't the tech knowledge in me to go all mod and mad scientist yet ;)

Hi Pink and wlecome to the forum.

So here's the deal from my point of view. You really have to take all the pros and cons into account. If you ask 9 out of 10 people which one they like better they'll say the ego. Why is that? Well because egos have been out far much longer than the elips. More people have them and have had experiences with them. Whether they are negative or positive experiences, there will more of them. Now that being said we move on to the functionality of each. I personally do not have an eGo-C or an elips however I do have an eGo-T and it has leaked. Not all the time and I can tolerate it but a leak is a leak. I have found silicone gaskets do make a difference. For me anyway. Does the Elips leak? I have no clue. Leaks aside let's take the battery life into consideration. The eGo-C is what, at least 650 mah with a 1000mah available but we'll use the 650 here for comparison. From what I've read the Elips is 350mah. That’s a major difference when it comes to vape times. You're looking at about 3 hours for the elips as opposed to about 6 on the eGo-C. That should be your first consideration. You can carry 2 650mah eGo-C batts probably just as easy as you can 2 350mah Elpis batts. No brainer there unless you really really really really really like the shape of the Elips batteries better. But that’s it. Another thing to look at is the cost of the replaceable parts on each. On the eGo-C the atomizer body is pretty much a onetime charge and runs about $8 give or take. Now I've seen the heads go for as low as $15 to as high as $30 for a 5 pack from different vendors so we'll have to approximate here. The elpis atomizers go for $15 each and a 5 pack of tanks will run ya around $15 bucks. The elips parts seem a bit steep to me. Let's take a look at startup costs. Elips starter kit, about $45. eGo-C starter kit, about $70 depending on vendor. Oh, let's not forget all the cool colors the eGo-C comes in. Now don't get me wrong. I know I sound a bit bias here and I probably am. I think this elips is just another new toy to get people to spend their hard earned money. Do we really need another PV that does LESS than an eGo? I think the 510's and all the other similar small PV's have that area covered. The Elips falls in between the 510 and the eGo right? Why would you want that? Is there really a need for it? IMHO I personally don't think so unless this will be your first PV. My 2 cents. :2c: If you already have a 510 or the like or an eGo, there is absolutely no need for the elips and you really can't compare the eGo with the Elips. Well, I mean you can but the eGo wins hands down. A bit more on the initial startup cost but you are getting so much more for your money. Heck, spend a few extra buck and get the 1000mah batts. That’s around 10 hours of vaping. I'd much rather have that than 3 - 4 hours. Now let me just say I have never vaped an elips and I have no idea what the performance is like. It could blow the eGo away for all I know but I doubt it. Look around. Check all the different experiences people have had then make your decision. (whispering) - go with the eGo-C - :) Just bear in mind what I said at the beginning, more folks have the eGo-C thus you have more to go on with them. From the few vendor sites I've hit thus far you should have no problem finding Elips user experiences as the kits are sold out every place I go.

I know its frustrating trying to figure out what to buy. This stuff isn’t cheap and some of it sucks. I sincerely wish you all the luck in the world with your decision and I hope this helps just a bit if any.

EDIT 3/29/12:

I just did some research on the eGo Vision aka: stardust and to my surprise I'd say there is about a 98% satisfaction rate with those things. After typing all this yesterday I went home and threw my eGo-T together and tried vaping it....again. It's been a while since I've used it. I use a lavatube most of the time. All I got from my eGo-T was burnt nasty taste. I dunno if my juice is to thick to wick or what but now I remember why I packed it away in the first place. I'm going to pick up a few of the eGo Visions this afternoon from Madvapes on my way home from work if they have them. These Visions/Stardusts are supposedly leak proof, last longer than a CE2, easier to fill-no syringe, and finally my pet peeve...no burnt taste. If everyone is correct, an eGo Vision and an eGo-T/C 1000mah battery or any other device with an eGo adapter is going to revolutionize vaping for a lot of folks and should do it for ya. I'll let ya know what I find if and when I get mine.

I'm fairly new to vaping and I also have an Ego C. I love it, but to be perfectly frank it did take a lot of tinkering. It was easy and convenient, but sometimes it would just stop wicking and I'd be rotating the tank, doing primer puffs, pushing the wick in or pulling it out, and cleaning and burning the atties. Since my kit was a knockoff, I ordered some Joyetech atties since I read they work a lot better. My initial impression is that they do indeed work better but that's a far as I got because I also included a few stardusts in the order. I fell in love and haven't touched my atties except for the first day. The stardust is so easy to fill and trouble free that I use it pretty much exclusively and haven't had a single dry hit. Not one!! I admit I haven't used dripping or cartos or anything except my atties and the stardust so I can't compare flavor and throat hit, but I really can't imagine anything being simpler and more hassle-free than the stardust. I highly recommend giving one a try. Your atomizers will likely start collecting dust, like mine.

Hello and welcome :)

I will start by saying that I do not own an Elipse, and I have no experience with them at all. I did watch a couple of reviews of them on YouTube, and decided not to get one. There was a problem with condensation buildup in the mouthpiece.
My advice would be to get a eGo type device. I am not a huge fan of the eGo T, but I think the eGo batteri is one of the most flexible solutions out there. They are interchangeable with the cheaper Riva batteries, you can use a vast selection of cartomizers (and carto tanks), atomizers and clkearomizers with them, you can get eGo (or Riva) batteries with variable volt function, pass trough function and in a lot of sizes - and it will all be interchangeable. I own Riva T-tank cartomizers, Janty eGo JETS (similar to eGo T) and a selection of cartomizers and clearomizers. My favorite is the eGo Vision, AKA Stardust, clearomizers. The eGo will give you plenty of options without having to buy another batteri.
That said, I think the Elipse has a really nice design :)
Whatever you decide to get, I hope you will enjoy it - good luck!

I own an Elips as well as an eGo-t. I like my elips more because I never get a burnt/dry hit from it and I haven't had any leaking issues. I can also use it as a passthrough while charging and it fits nice in my pocket. On the downside you can ONLY buy elips atomizer's and they run about $15 each.
have you had leaking issues with the egoC
