Hi all,

I just wanted to say, bought ego C atomizer and 5 LR heads in December from UK supplier and all I can say is..... im well dissapointed :(

Having initially bought TW Tornado Tank (which worked ok.. but not great) I thought since I already have the batteries, I might aswell give the Ego-C a try. Ive been using it for a week and have realized that this product was a Big Mistake!!!!

When I first got the ego c, I followed instructions provided and it worked well for about an hour............ till it started developing all kinds of problems.

First thing is that vapour production feels weak compared to Tornado Tank and the taste is like razors in your throat - burnt, dry and zero flavour. The tanks get a lot of condensation around them and sometimes vapour production is so weak that it seems like something might be blocking the flow. There are 2 air flow slots either side of the cone which make an annoying whistling sound everytime you are taking a draw.

I tried a few things in order to try and rectify this:

1. Put brand new tank with new caps (tried hard and soft silicone caps) making sure not to overfill tank with eliquid
2. Tried new atomizer heads (worked ok for a while then same thing develops)
3. Tried various different eliquids (even from the company who sold me the items)
4. Tried cleaning by blowing into paper towel
5. Tried using it on USB passthrough
6. Tried taking the 2 inserts in the mouthpiece of the tank

Feel so frustrated as this is becoming much more expensive and stressful then smoking analogs, that I am starting to lose faith in vaping.

I wanna give this one last shot and would be so grateful if anyone can suggest an alternative whereby I can use my existing batteries but use them on something else (such as carto's or atomizers) and hopefully point me to a positive vaping experience. Any brands, devices and e liquids (preferably UK sites) would be greatly appreciated.

hi moody and welcome to ECF:) from the description of what U wrote I think to do with yr old tornado batteries..when using LR atomizer U need batteries to generate 3.7V to function properly..if yr old batteries is say below 3.2V..this will be the problem for yr LR atomizer to function properly..all new batteries will decay in time after been charged in months of usage..do try yr set up with a new batteries..in the meantime watch the expert using eGo-C and see if U doing it the right way as the expert does..i do not own a eGo-C but VV & LCD eGos and works well with the tank setup or dual coil LR cartomizer..hope U can overcome yr frustration and stick to vapping..it is through mistakes we made and correct that is the learning curve when we embark on vapping journey..i am now so contented with my gadgets and vapping experience after 30+ yrs on analogs..regards mafig

I'm not sure what e-liquids you're using or the VG rate, but I would suggest you get some BOGE 2 Ohm cartos, make sure to Fill them all the way, let them sit for an hour or more (most should be able to sit overnight?)and remember to top them off occasionally (or whenever the flavor/vapor isn't quite there) This is what I use/do on my E-go t-type batteries and it's simple and very good system IMO

Get some Boge 2.0ohm cartomisers (cartos) and try them (cheap as chips, get a few). Fill them using the 'condom' method to make sure they are properly filled and see how you go.

From what I can see your batteries are the standard eGo type batts so should fit anything with 510 threading, eg Boge 2.0ohm 510 cartos.

You're not alone in going through the initial frustrations. I think we've all experienced it. Persist while you get it sorted and in the meantime if you need to have the odd analogue, that's cool too.

Cheers.

i second the cone, but i'd get the 1.5ohm dual coil cartomizers, they'll be nicer than the 2.0 ohm ones, not to mention will last you longer since they're actually two 3.0 coils in parallel, so won't degrade as fast as a single 2.0 ohm one.

but even the 2.0 stuff will be night and day compared to the standard ego tanks. the whistling was normal even on the original egoT atomizerA/B.

I second the suggestion for Boge 2.0 ohm cartos and the condom fill method. Once you fill them initially, you can pop off the tip and top them off as needed. You will get longer life if you use a high PG juice. 100%PG down to about 70%PG/30%VG works well. Thicker juices don't feed as well in a tank or a carto.

Use the method below to fill a carto intially. You will get full wetting of the filler and longer life if you do.

it took me a few hours to figure this unit out, i got the burnt taste and was leaking everwhere and was well ...... at it.
IMHO you are sucking too hard if it is whistling. The juice feed is dependent on the draw rate. i think you are flooding it, try removing the atty and giving it a 10 sec blow through. i find i need to blow through the carts between fillings but as long as i watch my draw rate carryover is minimal. Also try low vg juices and the regular atomizers before giving up on it.

moody,

First of all, I'm still a newbie to this world and spent decent $$ to just start explorer. However, I had a chance to use eGo-C (for about 2 weeks). Second, English is not my language so please bare with me.

I almost agree what you are complained about. My concerns are weak taste, few leaks with thin liquids, burning taste even almost impossible to dry burn. A lots of vapor though.

I'm expecting all the experts will give you great ideas and suggestion with many experience but why not? I decided to give you what I can suggest from my limited knowledge. Please just feel free to ignore my suggestion.

My suggestion is to buy BIANSI IMIST atomizer. IMIST is modified version of eGo-T and similar concept with eGo-C so you can continue to use your eGo batteries and charger.

With IMIST, you can separate atomizer and wicking part so you can easily access and clean them both. Also, you can replace glass fiber wick if it gets old and burn.

1. Easy access

Cartomizer build by four parts.

- Cone
- Wick hold
- Glass fiber wick
- connector/atomizer

You can easily remove each parts and clean or replace. I usually dry burn atomizer first, then use ultrasonice cleaner to clean all the parts, dry them, put them together to almost brand new.

2. Air flow

One of your complain is eGo-C's poor air draw. eGo-C cone has two air intake and IMIST has four (see picture). In fact, IMIST air draw is way too light and sometime I place my fingers to cover while holding battery manual button. It's good to have option to control how much air you take better than you need to inhale so hard.

3. leak

Yes, IMIST also leaks. As see on the picture, IMIST is using Type A cartridge instead of Type B for eGo-C. I amd not sure which is better but difference is Type-A doesn't have small silicone cap but you can remove whole cap for easy refill without syringe. I guess all ego tanks are leak anyway, it also depend on what kind of liquid you use. I usually DIY liquid with 54mg nic and glycerolglycerin. I recently changed glycerolglycerin to high viscosity type and all the leaks are gone.

4. cons

I have no clue but I could not find any US suppliers to carry BIASI IMIST. I really think this is the best eGo system but I couldn't find any from google search. I live in Tokyo and at least three of my usual net vapor shop sell IMIST but somehow... So I only could find a place to buy in English language is Irishvapors but not in the states.

IMIST Starter Kit
IMIST Atomizer only

Also, I could not find a place to sell replace glass fibre wick. Thier starter kit comes with 5 spare wicks but it should be easier to buy. I only could find places are all in Japan. Here is some place you can try.

I believe many people will say forget eGo system, just keep the batteries and buy tank or LR atomizers. I personally use tanks and even vv mods but I also need to have one for my office use. I'm not talking about vapering inside office but I don't want to get too much attention using colorful heavy mods around building.

Ok... now I am little bit nervous thinking why US suppliers doesn't have IMIST there is got a good reason to avoid?? Well... I'm, just a newbie... I just shared what I experienced...:p

Good luck, moody! :)

Hi and welcome to ECF. I also second the cartomizer suggestion. Many new vapers have problems with tanks so I would suggest the cartos, get used to them and then proceed with a tank later because with most vapers there is a steep learning curve in regards to tanks. Friends are using them successfully but they initially began with cartos and then later upgraded to tank addons.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Hey there,

i started vaping about 2 years ago and did it for about 9 months then had a roll up and went back to smoking but I wanted to start vaping again and so I had a look at the latest Tornado Tank eGo-c, which u r using and I use the menthol 18mg strength and to be honest, like "wyetterp" comments, have found nothing wrong with the system. I got frustrated in the old days of vaping with fluid leaks and burnt taste etc but I now know that there is a knack to a successful vape. I always take the 5 parts of the ecig apart maybe once a week, clean everything and the take a slow slow draw (thats the secret) on it and it is wonderful. It does work and no leaks, no burning. I agree with "wyetterp that maybe u have a dodgy one. I ordered mine through Totally Wicked, who are extremely helpfull if u r not happy, I live and purchased my kit from them online in the UK, just keep going, I am sure you will be happy in the end, good luck. cheers Rob
