If I'm gonna quit Marlboro Lights (which I have to, because they've quit making them), I'll need something reliable for the road. I've got two eGo batteries and one charger, but I worry about two batteries lasting all day if they're only charged at night. I've read about the PCC, which I suspect is a battery that charges up the eGo battery, but has to be charged itself before it can charge the eGo batteries.

Is it reliable/does it last forever? Would I be better off with the charger that operates from the car "cigarette lighter?" Should I just use my wall charger and get more batteries? I need to spend my money wisely right now, and I can't afford to make too many mistakes.

There are a lot of analog choices on the highway, and few ecig options compatible with my current kit.

Thanks!

ooops hate to break it to ya, but there isn't an eGo PCC

O' NO! Hopefully I can find a car charger for not alot of money. I'm guessing batteries go bad after a while and need to be replaced. I'll need more batteries as well, I suppose. Just trying to make the best of what I've already got.

P.S. Will it hurt the batteries if they're left on the charger after they've charged up?

I know litecigusa.net has a USB to car adapter for 5$, so it's pretty cheap.
As far as overcharging, most charging devices have a "power management circuit" used to prevent overcharging, I am unaware if Joye/Janty put one on their charger though, and a quick google didn't bring me any answers.

If you're concerned about overcharging, you could email joye(or janty..) about it. I can't see it being a problem if it's going to be sitting on the charger for an extra couple of hours though, since most people do all the time when they charge their batteries overnight.

You know I wasn't very helpful to you so I'll try again.

One example may be to try cignot.com for a fast charger and/or car adapter for $8 and $4. Or madvapes.com has a 2amp car charger for @$9. You can also try Janty or Totally Wicked, as these should work with your eGo.

A solar charger is also a consideration, one that will not only charge your eGo but your cell, ipod, etc. too. Good in case of power failure.

A final option is the "Kensington Power Pack" which sells on Amazon for around $50, this will hold a charge for at least 48 hrs.

I have been rotating only 2 eGos for three months now, no problem. No, it won't hurt your batteries to leave them on the charger, but I do not have a car charger so I can't speak for that.

Thanks Bugsy. I'll ask 'em. I know some batteries love to stay on a charger, and others don't.

P.S. are you an entomologist?

they quit making Marlboro Lights????

Yes, I'm afraid so. They call them Marlboro Gold Packs now. From what I've heard, Marlboro Ultra Lights are now Marlboro Silver Packs. I suppose there have been too many lawsuits; people thinking that "lights" are safer than "reds." They've had to change the name. Same crap I'm still smoking, as far as I know, but I've been spending more time researching ecigs than cigs, so I can't be sure. But if you know someone who still smokes 'em, look at the top of the box/pack.

I wouldn't worry being on the road all day if I had two fully-charged eGo batteries. My eGo batteries last me no less than 8 hours and usually last nearly 10 hours, and I never let the thing out of my hand. My wife uses hers less than I do and her batteries usually last more than 12 hours. One lasted 22 or 23 hours before it needed charging.
Also, we leave a battery in the charger every night. No problem.

New eGo bats. last 6-8hrs.+. I was smoking 1 pk day & 2 new bats. were lasting 24 hrs. about 8+16.

A car to USB adapter should do it for car.

When the bats. are charged the charger shuts off & the red led goes green. Still it's best to disconnect when charged.

:smokie:

Thanks SirVette. Keeping in mind that all of my stuff (right now) is eGo, can you direct me to a "car to USB" adaptor?

Thanks so much for your responses!

Thanks cliff. I feel better about my choice. But I'm concerned about occasional relapses when on the road. I've read too much here about attys and batteries being consumables, as are analogs, of course. Just wondering what it would take to keep going. I've always had to have plenty of analogs (and lighters) on hand for whatever contingency. Now that I'm ready to quit that, I was hoping for something more reliable than cigarettes at the next truck stop. I suppose that I'll just have to spend more money in the short term to save my money (and life), so that I'm not dissuaded by the availabilty of all of the alternatives.
