Ego - Cone or No Cone?

If your using regular 510 atty/carto its to protect the threads used by the ego specific atty and carto's.. With 510 carto's I find it better to not use the cone seems to generate more heat with the cone on it.

I think it's more or less cosmetic. I use the MEGA cartomizers, so I don't even use the cone. Shame, 'cause I think the eGo looks prettier with the cone and a regular atty/cart.

I found the cone cut down on the amount of air that gets pulled in durring the drag. Thus with the cone on, I seemed to get a bit more vapor with less effort. With that being said, I rocked the cone

I read a post a while back in which someone said it helped to preheat the air before it goes through the atomizer so your vapor will be warmer. I don't know if that's true but it doesn't seem to work for me. If you want warmer vapor use a 306 atty on your 510 or eGo, and put the cone on if you want to, it's quite a bit warmer for those who like warm vapor.

With a 510 cartomizer it does seem to heat it up to me.

The cone was probably designed to give a sleek appearance, but it does serve to channel the air over the narrow end of the cone and past the hot atomizer before it reaches the coil. There's probably a few % improvement in the vapor and taste with it on.

I like the Mega Cylinder atty, myself.

I like useing the riva without the cone, I think it looks better.

The main thing the cone does (which makes it worth while) is to keep any liquid leakage contained. That is HUGE! ...plus I do think it makes for a tighter draw (which many prefer - myself included).

I usually don't use the cone, but just for the sake of experimenting I put it on to see.... Yes, tighter draw - which I don't like - so I took it back off again.

I never used the cone much - I could not tell much difference in the smoke and would just put it on when I went out with it- Now I am using the cylinder mega atomizes or cartomizers and I like their look better then the cone

An advantage with using the cone is that you won't bend your atty as easily when it's in place. I usually wear cargo pants and carry my eGo in one of the leg pockets. Without the cone I'd worry about bending or breaking it at the threads.

Anyone else noticed that the condensation/liquid that forms at the top of the cone can inhibit airflow? I find myself removing the cone to wipe it in order to get a proper draw.

The cone doesn't seem to fit well over my cartomizer, so I just go without. I didn't feel like putting in the effort to file it down or something for the sake of aesthetics.

I like to leave it on. It really makes the eGo feel heavy and solid.

The cone is what makes the Ego "special". Without the cone, Ego would be just a longer lasting 3.2V 510 battery.
