Hi,

I have been amazed at the wonderful information on here about all aspects of modding, and the sticky on Taps and Dies For 901-801-510-4xx is wonderful information.
As I am not very good with determining thread sizes, can anyone help me by telling me what the thread size is on the outer part of the Ego battery connector please? (and even better what size of tap I need to get to thread it)

If you also know - the die size for the ego plinths would be useful information too...

Thanks in advance, and hopefully if anyone can answer it can be added to the Taps and Dies thread :)

Cheers

The inner connector uses a 510 connection and the outter uses an eGo connection.

eGo is the actual name of the connection type.

Thanks for the reply - but I knew that already, what Im looking for is the size of tap/die I need to make my own threads in this size :)
Similiar to the information in the link I posted, but as the ego threading was not mentioned in there, I was hoping someone had that information since that post was done.

Ill gamble my money on this as it seems right - cheers :)

Was this ever verified? I"m wanting to do some 510 and ego parts, 510 is M7x0.5 from what I've seen, just want to verify ego size before I place an order. The hardware stores around here don't carry oddball sizes like that...

Thanks for the quick responses guys! Now, someone wanna tell me why the hell a M7x0.5 tap is about $5, but a M12x0.5 is flippin $17?! Stupid non-standard threads anyhow!!! At least they're in stock tho, Victor and every other place I could find is OOS on the M12 for some reason....

The M12 is the cone threads which is what this thread was started about not sure if your looking for the atomizer / battery side threads if so Those are M7 X 0.5

The one I checked on an optical comparator was 7/16" x 36, I was rather shocked it wasn't metric, but the pitch gauge didn't line up with the threading so we put it on the compartor and calculated it.

might want to get that thing calibrated. It is almost a perfect .50mm pitch, 36tpi is .70mm and it is not even close to that.
