Hi all! I'm sorry that I'm making my first post about my issues but I could use really use the wisdom of more experienced vapers.

I've got an Ego-CTwist that worked like a dream until the battery stopped charging. I did some research and it seams like this model has problems with the firing pin getting stuck from over-tightening. I followed the fixes for said problem but I'm not totally convinced that's what the real problem is.

I made a short video (33sec long) at youtube with the extension /watch?v=Wx30PMe5_PE&feature=youtu.be

Basically when I twist it into the charger, the charger light will go red as it makes contact and the battery's button with flash a few times before going out. After a few moments the battery will begin flashing again and the charger will glow green.

Looks to me like it's making contact but then refusing to charge. I'm not knowlegable enough to know the issue here so any wisdom you can lay on a greenhorn would be highly appreciated. I'm wanting to get it fixed before the urge to buy tobacco becomes to strong.

Thanks in advanced and happy vaping.

As bad as this is going to sound, and welcome to ECF by the way, have you tried just playing with the wire some? I have an eGo-V that I use daily and my charger kind of went bad and I have to play with it to make it work. Have you tried another charger as well? Just trouble shooting before we start getting too deep into the battery.

Another thing to check: make sure all threads and contact points on Both the charger and the twist are clean. Take a q-tip damp with rubbing/isopropyl alcohol and swab out all connection areas. Let dry (only takes a few minutes) then try charging again.

A little bit of liquid leaking out over time, can mess up how well they charge.

That behaviour sounds like the protection circuit inside the battery is tripping. There could be several reasons for that happening - the circuit itself has gone defective or the protection is tripping for legitimate reasons such as the battery is spent and the internal resistance is now high. The battery fire button flashing followed by the charger shutting down is definitely abnormal.

Is the battery getting warm during this process? If yes stop using it and retire that one.

I didn't think to try cleaning with alcohol, I'll do that and also check for battery heat as Rickajho suggested.

Did that help at all?? Inquiring minds (mine mainly) wanna know.... :)
Won't hurt me if you tell me no. I just know I had a problem ages ago and that had fixed it. Might not be the fix, but it is worth a try ;)

It did a very good job of cleaning it out but no unfortunatly the problem wasn't fixed. I'm thinking it might be a loose wire. I'm currently looking for my vice grips - I'm going to try to as delicatly as possible pop this sucker open and see what kind of damage I can do.
