ego E 18650 starter kit.

I started vaping with an Elite 808 starter set after reading and watching reviews FOR DAYS. It is a 2 piece so is very simple to use and to fill and to charge. But, I was a heavy smoker and these were enough to convince me I could get off analogs, but they could not cut the mustard and here is why; of the three batteries I have (2 came with and I added a red one to match my car), 1 took all night to charge, the red one doesn't last with consistent umph for more than an hour, and the best one that was reliable for 2 hrs. was dropped by me and broke. I taped it back (with duct tape of course) and will only use at home, so it'd just not practical if I'm gone for the day, so I end up buying analogs.

So you know for comparison sake, the batteries are 380 MAH.

The cartimizers are also an issue. After soaking them when they are new, the flavor fades after 10 to 15 minutes (ok, I'm a heavy vapor) so I am constantly soaking and reloading cartomizers to get a good hit. Impossible to manage when I'm out for the day.

So you know for comparison sake, they are 2 ml cartomizers (the kind with filling in it that you add juice to).

Decided to move up, and this time spent OVER A WEEK, researching, reading, listening to reviews.

I almost think that most people on this board have become so politically correct (well everybody likes different things, what works for one doesn't for the other, newbies should try 510's first, etc.) that it is just impossible for a newbie to make a good first purchase. I wish I had my 104.00 back that I have so far invested in the Elite so for what it is worth I will tell you what I bought 2ND, which cost less than the Elite and is the bomb, IMHO.

Received today, made a big mess with the juice, but off and running and vaping my brains out with really good hits is: the Ego E starter kit for $49.00. I am female, and laying my hand flat horizontally over it from the base of my palm, it is longer than the end of my middle finger.

Yes, it is a big honker. But the battery has 18650 MAH and will last all day. The cartomizers are huge and hold 5 ml of juice. No constant soaking and switching and filling. Each hit is as good as a cigarette, not anemic hits like most on the Elite.

NOW, I can see going without buying analogs.

I thought the box type with the juice bottle in it that you squeeze to fill the cartomizer was very interesting, but cost more than I could afford. A friend has the Silver Bullet and I would love to have that one, too. But too expensive.

I'm trying to be politically correct and say there are plenty of good choices out there, but for my 2 cents the Ego E starter kit is an easy yet big delivering ecig for an excellent price if you are a heavy smoker and you want to make the switch.

Later!

:p

Congratulations. Ding Ding Ding.... You're the 1st "post of the day". Every day someone posts the same old story, time and again: They got a 510 or 808 cigarette lookalike because they look like an analog and someone said they're just great for newbs. They got to get one that looks like a cigarette. They got to have an automatic battery and an LED on the tip.

A month later they're sick of constantly recharging. Sick of carrying a handful of batteries everywhere...Sick of the wimpy vape they get after 10 drags...Almost broke out the analogs...and they wish they'd have started with a decent PV at the start and saved a hundred or two hundred dollars.

Same story. Day after day, week after week, month after month.

I am politically incorrect and try to tell newbs NOT to buy those little mini-battery cig. lookalikes. And I take a lot of flak for my trouble from the politically correct crowd. Generally, I recommend an eGo, kGo or e-Power as a first kit, any one of which can be had for under $50. Then, invariably some other newb or even a vet pipes up and muddys the water by recommending something totally inappropriate, like a $250 Provari or Reo or Zenesis for a first kit. IMO, that's as ridiculous as recommending a Blu or gas station disposable. Sure. Hey newb. Either start with a Yugo or a Ferrari....Right...

A larger battery e-cig is a great choice for a newb. For many people, it's the last PV they end up ever buying. That's something that almost nobody has to say about the analog look-alikes.

All but a select few of us have done the same thing as you did and probably 90% of us wish we'd have skipped that lesson. I hope another newbie who is considering one of those cigarette look-alikes reads this and becomes one of those few who didn't have to learn the hard way that..... The more it looks like a cigarette, the worse it will perform.

If you got to hit a Provari set to 5.5 volts with a Boge 3.0 cartomizer, you'd be wanting your money back for the Ego 18650, too.

See, that's what I was talking about. Here we have someone pretty new to vaping and someone comes in evangelizing about the Provari. Moving from an Elite to an eGo is a substantial upgrade that doesn't cost over $200. Someone else could argue that a Darwin is better than a Provari, and in many respects it is. Let's be realistic about this. Not everyone has over $200 to drop on a VV, especially people who might not even know enough about vaping to take advantage of it.

The eGo performs several times better than the Elite, for less money. The Provari doesn't vape 5X better than the eGo. Therefore, as an upgrade, the eGo is the better value.

I suppose if you owned a Lamborghini, you'd recommend that to the teenager down the street looking for an upgrade to the old 1984 Escort he bought when he was 16?
