My mom smokes 2 packs a day,Marlboro Lights..
I am about to purchase her a new type of 808
here it is
302D Starter Kit

would this be a good starter kit or should i go with the 510 model,or an Ego?
I hear the battery on the 808 is better than the 510.She really needs a nice strong hit, with a decent amount of vapor, doesnt have to be a ton vapor. Also Simplicity is a big issue.something that is easy to keep up and charge/refill.and something durable.

Also one more Question! I understand the cartomizers need to be refilled after a few hours.
What happens when the cartomizer dries? like say when you put it down for the night and go to sleep.does letting the Cart dry ruin the cartomizer?

is there anything spare part that can make the 808 cartomizer not need to be refilled so frequently? like an Atomizer? etc

thank you for any help! bless all of you

If you want a standard KR808 kit - get it from LiteCigUSA or MyVaporStore - for an upgraded KR808 kit, get from BloogPlanet (MaxXFusion) - $60 - not heard of the ElectronicStix kit you posted personally and I don't fully understand what "808" style means - could be just me, but there are a lot of "808" styled proprietary vendors out there. I would stick with the mainstream, proven vendors. OTOH, looks like a good value if the product is truly "808" COMPATIBLE.

Just my 2 cents.

for the price it's probably not a bad place to start. it will give you a feeling for what vaping is. Almost no one I know doesn't upgrade eventually. Just make sure to get extra liquid from someplace and keep a battery on the charger all the time. Keep it simple and before long you will have saved enough money to buy whatever you feel like.

Sounds like bs to me. Also, it could be a KR808D-2, favored by rebranders and has threads incompatible with KR808D-1 (aka Vapor King at Vapor4Life). Or they could be purposely using "808 style" to just mean a 2-piece model and it could be not any kind of 808 at all but rather a totally different cartomizer model.

cant really speak for the 808 but I started with a 510 and really liked the vapor, got me off analogs. I did progress to an ego/riva but more for the battery life than anything else. What I found though was that the somewhat larger battery size was also easier to handle and keep up with, I dont feel like I have to be "dainty/extra gentle" with it to avoid breakage, and vapor/th stays consistent for a much longer time than with the standard 510 batteries. Not to mention simplicity.......I now change batts at most once a day, sometimes a single charge lasts all day vs. 3-6 battery changes and always having to be sure of a charged spare batt with the 510.

If you are wondering about the size being too much (some pics make it appear MUCH larger than a 510), pick up a regular Sharpie marker and twiddle it between your fingers, it is almost the same size. Not overly large or uncomfortable to handle at all.

Why do you say that? They are legit place lots of people have bought from them and been very happy. They have been around a long time. There were popular a year ago before the ego took over. But a big bulky ego is not for every beginner. Plus they have an auto and a manual it's nice way to see what you like. It's not like it's $150 it's only just over $30 what is they guy supposed to do give them away?

If you are not opposed to attys I know Liberty Flights has the 510 Riva kits for $29, shipping is $2.99 so it would be $32.98 total. My friend just got hers and is in love. I've had mine for almost a year and I love it too. If not Vapor4Life is a good place to start. Lots of different flavors and kits. Hope this helps a lil :)

There is nothing wrong with the Kr8's they are one of the most popular small e-cigs a lot of people like a cig sized e-cig to start with. they are a true 3.7 volts and the battery life is better than the regular 510's. Is it the greatest probably not but for the price I still think it's a good one.

Look around and ask were to get the best deal on a Kr8 and I'm sure you can find one for a good price. There are still a lot of fans of that model around this site.

Ok now I am looking at at original kr808d1
KR808D1 Mega Starter Kit - Manual
seem like a reputable place to buy? and a good deal for the money? i see a more expensive Ultimate starter kit though.that includes usbs and extra chargers.

I bought my first kit from MVS - and, it's still in use today.

i got my vapor4life order on wednesday, and i love the thing. i got the kr808. i opened 5 of the cartomizers, and have been vaping off of all 5 ever since. i vape one flavor for a while, then switch to another. while i am not using a cartomizer, or while i am sleeping, i just put the little rubber condom thing on the top. none of them have dried out so far. the cartomizers from the last brand i used lasted a full day, much like a pack of cigs would for me. i will keep the used up cartomizers like others have suggested, but i have no intentions, at least now, of refilling them myself. i was a pack a day smoker, and as long as these last a day each i am fine with that. hope this helps, good luck =)

BradSmith - OK - so what what model is it then? In what ways does it "outperform" KR808D-1? What exactly is a JKY302D? What cartos can it use besides the ones sold on that site? Questions like that. It may be a fine model. But how would anyone know if they use words like "style".

Check out their cartos section - filled cartos they only have "their remaining 28mg" cartos.
http://www.electronicstix.com/SPARE...artomizers/PRE-FILLED-KR-808-CARTOMIZERS-c56/

Which "808" is it compatible with for filled cartos? The -1 or the rebrander fave -2?

My opinion on this model is not enough information.

Just my .02 cents, we ordered the 510 PCC kit from Cignot. You can customize everything plus it comes with some juice already. With the PCC there has been no concern about battery life. The shipping was also extremely fast. My BF and I decided to quit together and neither of us has had an analog since the day our kit came in. It has now been over 2 weeks. I know we are extremely new, but it worked for us. I have heard great things about the KR808 but I have no experience with them.

just went back and checked out the website you were looking at. Here's what I see:

Supposedly going strong since 2008 (but LLC license says 2009-10)
Only one positive customer review
Individual juice reviews: all 5* yet only one review on each (not many at that)
Highly promoted affiliate program
US company based in UT, but only review showing on the 302d (808"style") kit is from someone who speaks broken english at best?

So giving the benefit of doubt, in 2+ years no product has more than 2 customer feedbacks, several are written in broken/foreign english? I would hope that I am wrong and too skeptical but I think I would steer clear of this vendor in favor of one which is on the ECF vendor list and doesn't depend on hotlinks/affiliate programs. If I ran an ecig company I would EXPECT that by doing things right I would have MANY more favorable reviews from US customers. Just raises a lot of questions in my mind. Most reputable vendors can be vouched for hundreds of times over by our own ECF members, even the relatively new ones.

My .02.

The Op wants a cartomizer model for their Mom.

I think if you want that particular model for your Mom, then find out what prefilled cartomizers it can use and where you can get them (unless your Mom is only going to fill blank cartomizers herself) because that vendor has a real slim selection of filled cartomizers and it is unclear which 808 cartos will fit it (KR808D-1 or KR808D-2). if the vendor says it fits KR808D-1 cartos then it should be an ok buy. Or even if it is -2 but then it won't be able to use the -1 model's cartos - you'll have to buy cartos from AzSmokeFree.com or from the -2 model rebranders.

The commonly recommended cartomizer model is a KR808D-1 which you can buy under that model number at a number of vendors or as Vapor King at Vapor4Life.com. And with KR808D-1, if cartomizers end up not being what your Mom likes, you could put a DSE901 atty and carts right on it (or with an adapter, 510 atty and carts)

Me and the wife started with Ego type 510s and loved them enough to cold turkey the first day. We like having the ability to buy parts from a million websites, with a non proprietary design. Currently waiting on my Provari to ship as it is the God of all PVs, untill then we use the ego type 510s. Cheapest I have found (besides ordering 3 at a time from china) is Madvapes. Like $32 bucks for their smoketech 510s and you get charger and everything. Everyone wants $50 or more for the same thing basicly.
Start with something cheap, because you will go nutz buying atomizers/cartomizer/mods at the start. Think we have spent almost $500 so far in just a few months, not counting the Provari I ordered last night, haha. Have enough DiY supplies to last us 3 years though and enough replacement parts to last just as long.
