I've been reading reviews nonstop in the review forum, and I've noticed a lot of reviews on the ego. I've also that on almost any negative review on an ego, there is an ego user ready to bash the review, and tell them that every single one of there facts are wrong. I don't understand why the ego has a god like status that can't have a negative thing about it. From what I understand, the ego is a fine PV, and has many many clones. On any review of an ego clone that is negative, they mention the mainstream form of the ego, and bash the review based on there ego, which is not the same as the one reviewed. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but why is that?

An eGo is really just a battery. As long as you are happy vaping at 3.2 there isn't much to complain about. They come in a rainbow of colors, take the huge number of 510 options, and are reliable.

The Riva SE is the only clone I know of that is 3.7 that gets higher praise, but if you adjust your atty/cartomizers to the voltage you use all is well in vapeland.

Kind of hard for me to understand your question without seeing example reviews, but it sounds like there might be some counterfit stuff out there?

Counterfiters sometimes 'clone' a product's design and sometimes even brand logos WITHOUT PERMISSION of the patent and trade mark owners. They don't always meet the same quality control standards, nor do they pay the proper fees and royalties. They are in the minds of many 'thieves' Maybe this is what is happening?

There are also legitimate 'rebranding' marketing strategies. In these cases, permission is granted by patent and trade mark holders for a product to be cloned and/or rebranded. Sometimes they also negotiate the rights to make modifications or changes to a patented design and sell it that way.

Hmmm...

I dunno. I've got eGos and Riva's both work fine. There may be better quality control on genuine Joyetech products- a personal experience.

Generally speaking I think many people get kind of "religious" about their PV. Something perhaps that would be better avoided.

The best rule I think is not to criticize other's opinions in a negative fashion.

Ego's and Riva's are simply put cheep. They work really well with Low Resistance attys and cartos and they are dependable for the most part. They last a long time and unlike mods cheep cheep cheep cheep. If you trip and drop your mod and get a huge scratch in it for the most part you just paied 100-300$ for a crappy looking PV. If you trip and drop your expensive mod and it breaks well again soo much for all that money. Ego's and Riva's if you scratch and or misshandle you can just buy a new one.

THey are also somewhat easily concealable. They arent huge and bulky and most people think they look like a fancy pens.

They last a pretty long time 4-8 hrs on a heavy vaper and longer for a lighter vaper you dont need to buy a crap ton of special batterys and chargers and keep up with them. Riva's and Ego's just plug in and charge which makes it overall very simple.

They have this godlike status because lets be honest people love cheep, people love simplicity, people love easy and the Ego and Riva are all of those things.

To answer why people bash clones well i'm not really sure about that however it could be because their are just so many of them and clones getting more expensive and fancy which makes no since because the product they copied stays the same simple cheep and easy whats the point in buying a more expensive clone when you already have what you want.

Thats my take on answering your question hope it helped.

Human nature and the fact that if they've only had good experience with their Ego (or clone) some people can't imagine that all others may not have had the same experience nor feel the same way about the Ego (or clone). Same applies the other way around. If someone has only had negative experience with their Ego (or clone) they cant imagine why others can say their Ego(or clone) is so great. If someone has only ever tried one Ego and no other versions of that popular model they really aren't qualitifed to tell anyone which Ego or clone is the best. There's a lot of people on ECF that have tried the Ego or a clone so there is going to be a lot of reviews and opinions. Take them all with a grain of salt, good comment or bad comments, until you yourself have tried the Ego (or clone) to form your own opinion.

Both points are the best advice ever. That deserves a +1

And, internet forums tend to bring out the best and the worst in some people. Couple that with written word being far more subject to interpretation than spoken, and it can be a recipe for misunderstanding. Try to read everything as if it was spoken in complete monotone, and some of those comments won't seem so harsh.

Egos are great for a new vaper. As stated above they are super easy. I started with a gas station e cig, moved to 510 then ego.

Since then I have moved to high voltage and VV mods. I will use my ego on occasion and realize what they are lacking now that I have experienced new things.

There are so many options today (and more new ones coming out all the time) they all have their strengths and weaknesses. It takes experience to find the PV that has everything you like, and things you can live with.

Take any review with a grain of salt if it comes from someone that has only used that particular PV
