That sounds like it is heat from coil. When you notice it, take it off and see if it is hot in side the connection on the tank.

Ego batteries can not handle that much. So it it is getting hot than I would suggest switching out with another one when you chain vap.

Or upgrade a battery, such as vamo with good battery. Or battery will die prematurely.

Cheers.

Yeah, there will be left over heat when you vape.. so if you go to town on that thing, heat from the coil will work it's way down to the battery.

Too much heat will stress the components and shorten battery life. On a larger device, like a Vamo that was mentioned... there's more stuff there to absorb and dissipate heat.. on the ego, you don't have much there.

I know I've been chain baking, but I've noticed that my ego connection and thus the bottom of my evod are quite very warm.. Hot even. Is this going to be a problem over time? Do I have to slow down my vaping? Do I need to upgrade to keep up with my vaping style? ;)

I would definitely take it out of the oven!
