What are you doing to prevent the accidental depressing of the button. It can be pushed trying to pick it up out of a case. It can twirl in a case and get depressed. What's the rule of thumb here. Do you have to use those button covers? Are they a pain?

I picked up a Janty case from Janty that came with two of their button cover/protectors. Then I picked up some of the cover/protectors from Cignot. I use them to keep the button safe from accidental firings while in either of my cases. They are easy to use and very convenient. The Janty ones are nicer than the joye ones IMO as the janty covers internally surround the button and won't rotate where the Joye ones will to a degree. Unfortunately, the Janty ones are only available with the case at this time, so it's not really a cheap method. The cignot ones are 2 for a buck if i recall. Either will get the job done.

I have heard that the button protectors only work with the cone on - is this true?
They stay on easier with a cone or XL atty, but they will stay on without it. The Janty ones do stay on better without a cone than the Joye ones. I have three batts in my zipper case with them one and none have ever come off. I suppose if you had them bouncing around loose in your pocket you may have trouble.
On my manual Ego battery, if you push on the button five times within two seconds, it turns if off. To turn it back on, repeat the same.
