Thanks VeggieGirl. I feel the same way and can't figure out why some people are having problems and others aren't. It must be different batches, that's all that makes sense. Mine clog even if they're just sitting and I'm not using them and some of my juices are clear so it's not just the dark ones. It's definitely frustrating to say the least.

Veggie, I've been having the same sort of problem with my whistle tips that just came in. They start nice and smooth, and within a couple days the draw is thick, taste gets muted and the hit feels "dry" even with a full carto. Any more and it leaks and gurgles in a bad way. Something is certainly "off" about them compared to the clearos from 3 weeks ago.

it has to be the manufacturer making "improvements" in how they work ... that or cost cutting in production. i hate being a guinea pig and paying for the privilege.

with the 3 that i've vaped from this last batch, the 1st carto seemed just a little troublesome for about a day, started to improve, and then went bad. the next 2 were trouble from the beginning with some of what you describe and, a day later, only got worse. i know what you mean about "dry," too. i'm very disapointed (what an understatement)!

It is too bad about the quality control issues from China. I've got 9 of the new ones sitting here, 4 with the baby bottle tips and 5 with the flat tips all Smok branded. Here's my guess. Smok was not the only Mfr. making these. Maybe several are doing the same type. First batch from MV were not branded folks, so they may have been clones, or clones of the clones....lol. Hard to tell what's up with the China stuff. Notice they say SMOK on them, not smoktek. And ST does not brand their smaller dualies at all.

Looking at the picture on the Smoktek website I'm not seeing a branding on them....????? So maybe the first batch were actually Smoktek and this second type is not? Hard to say...only guessing here. One thing I know for sure, they do not vape the same.

i wondered the very same thing, joanr. when mad vapes was selling the very first batch of emdcc's, they posted "made by smoktech" in the product description. later, they removed that from the product description ... yet it said smok on the carto. even a month ago, when looking thru alibaba, you could see these everywhere ... has to be made by more than one manufacturer. cost of doing business is coming into the picture even more, now ... cutting costs for more profit at the expense of the consumer.

i really thought i had found the perfect carto and guess i did ... for awhile.

i know. i still love the emdcc's, but just the original good ones. actually i ordered emdcc's 3 times and the 2nd batch i ordered was a mixed bag (mostly good, tho) ... now this 3rd one just isn't working for me at all. i was one of the first to sing the emdcc's praises, very highly! i thought i was dreaming to get a carto like that. maybe the way they're made now is still working out for you but not for me, and i'm finally tired of wasting my juice on them ... tried low vg and high vg, thick and thin juices. i had forgotten that i got part of the first batch mixed up with the 2nd batch, so i actually have 4 & 4 left ... another mixed bag. when they don't even hold juice, this is something very dfferent. i'm not going to notify bad vapes. i know they read these threads. maybe someone else will mention it to them. they've been making entirely too many mistakes on my orders lately, and i've had to contact them too often already. i just won't order them again (and i really hate that). i thought my search for a great carto had ended.

I'm sad to hear about all the problems with the current crop of cartos. I feel lucky that I bought 20 of the originals. I'm getting weeks out of each one of them without even so much as a cleaning. All I have to do is keep them wet. I guess that we'll have to try other vendors if current batches are junk. MadVapes should take the junk back and send it back. I'm not anywhere near needing to make an order, but I plan to try another vendor when I am ready.

For some reason I've got one of these that refuses to work on my VV ego clone battery. I have tried another one, identical in make and brand (smoktech mega dual coil clear cartomizer) and it worked fine...

Odder still, my original dual coil when paired with a 510 > 510 tornado adaptor works just fine on my VV battery...

On a riva XL and standard riva battery again, that original dual coil works without fault on them. Tis a mystery indeed!

Did you try raising the atomizer connector? Sometimes that happens on clone batteries - Smoktech sometimes sinks the battery connector on the carto itself too deep in the housing.

+1 I've had Smoktech cartos that wouldn't work on a Smoktech PT....quality control again.

Edit: For those wanting the first batch of emdccs that arrived on our shores in July, probably some of the vendors that bought large amount of them from MV and charged 3.50 a pop still have some left....COV comes to mind....

The problem with that theory is that you could pay $3.50 each (compared to 2.50 at madvapes) and still end up with the bad ones. There isn't any way to tell the good ones from the bad ones when you order.

3.50 wouldn't bother me. But I'm not going to order just one. $3.50 times however many I order, to get cartomizers that don't work, that would peeve me off.

Personally, mine have been fine, and I think I have 7 or 8 of them, so I should be good for awhile. Hopefully, this will resolve before I need to order them again. By then, I may get a good mod and a liqunator tank or something.
