It died quite impressively, too... I knew I should have gorilla glued the bottom cap on. It all kind of came apart trying to unscrew it and killed the (admittedly, junk and one foot in the grave) battery it was attached too. Still, fun experiment.

1. Discoveries are made by not following instructions.

2. If you don't break something once in awhile you're not trying hard enough.

:D

I've learned I need to have less time to kill after placing orders. I am so bored waiting on my KGO and juices that I am trying to learn.

Posted this in another thread, but learned about an hour ago that the Lorann factory is about six miles from my house. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and ask if they sell retail - if they do it's liable to be an interesting and expensive expedition :D

Keep me posted on that. I'll go for an hour road trip to dip in to the world of DIY liquid. I've been afraid to look to hard at it, and couldn't find a solid resource to start learning, but I've had some crazy ideas I want to make.

In prep for tomorrow's great happy vape day, I'm boiling out a couple of these that have passed usefulness of the juices they hold. I'm wondering if having a broken in, clean EMDCC is gonna help it wick vg juice better, and maybe even restore the mediocre performance we've seen from this most recent batch.

Actually, has anyone ever straight boiled a carto on receiving it to sort of pregame the filler in? Might throw a clean one in the water too and see what happens. Experiment!

Will do :)

Nah - I quit boiling them and started just washing them out with alcohol. Being as we're in Michigan it's kinda hard to get PGA but I can get 91% IPA from the local drugstore, let them soak in it overnight and just rinse them out really well afterward, then blow them out and let them sit for a couple days. So far it's been working - I still do the paper clip thing, though.

Hey joanr, I believe you were having the same weird draw problem and muted flavor I was? I think I found what the problem was on my end, maybe yours too... Check that everything is straight in terms of battery and carto posts. Using the 510 extension got the post in my battery set crooked. I pried it back up and even, reset the one in the carto as well, and everything has been tasting and vaping a lot better since.

I may have even pulled the posts up higher than I usually do, but I'm thinking it was a weak connection between the two giving me trouble. Take a peek at your own gear.

Thanks, I'll have to wait for my KGO's to get here, all my egos are about dead and I've been using my VV Box with the Boges for the last few days. But a skewered connection would make a difference I'm sure. I still think these new ones have an airflow problem related to the fix they did on them. Let us all know how that boil out goes. I haven't boiled an emdcc as yet, just a few old 510 std. cartos and they were re-usable but not by much. I've more or less given up cleaning any of them, there is nothing like a fresh carto for my favorite juices. They do steam clean well, I've done that a few times.

The boil was for my root beer float carto I tried to fill early in the morning. In the dark. With a raspberry espresso juice. I'm not even gonna try vaping that. They're drying now, the raspbeer coffee and the unused one. We'll find out how it goes tomorrow.

Too late, already boiled them twice over. I'd be apprehensive about putting isopropyl in my cartos, but I'm sure it's been proven that it's cool to do. Rubbing alcohol + lungs seems bad. Oh well, I've never cleaned a carto at all before, so this will be new. I threw an unused one in there, too. For science!

I did a little research - yeah, vaping IPA is toxic but it leaves no residue when it evaporates so I figure I'm good if I'm not sucking on a wet carto. I just rinse them really well before I put them up to dry :)

They don't seem to work the same after boiling them - either that or they didn't like me drying them in the oven.

when i first started using cartos, i tried rubbing alcohol, and it left an awful taste in my carto, so i switched to an overnight soak of h2o2 and that seemed to work fine. it got rid of a lot of residue.

Wonder if it'll get rid of the crusties on the coils too?

Boiled carto report: draw on the previously "dirty" one is still a bit tight, but it is hitting like a truck and held ~120 drops of liquid. There is still a hint of the root beer mixed in to the proper juice, but overall it's the correct flavor, and still produces beautifully (some credit to the KGO battery, but...)

Still waiting for my package with Boba's to show up... Dunno how I get two priority packages both out for delivery and only one shows up. Still better than the liberty flights order that still hasn't even shipped!

Edit: wheeeeeeeee!! It's here! I dig the Boba's a lot, but I think it needs a little more time to mature on me. The Gorilla Juice is truly delicious, though. I though that was going to be my winner, and it sure delivered. Got some Malty on the way now that it's back in stock, too.

Okay Vega, your turn to describe the flavor of Boba's Bounty. Here is my description...

Oatmeal cookie pecan birthday cake batter a la mode with a light cinnamon sprinkle.

I'm sure your description will be nearly identical. :)
