Has anyone had a problem with these killing ego batteries? It killed one 1,000 mah ego and it may have killed a second 900 mah one.

i've been vaping the emdcc's since july 8, and i haven't had a problem yet. i will say, tho, that if i find that the emdcc's start zapping my batts, i'll definitely be switching to a mod a lot sooner than i'd planned.

I'm running 5 of them, including one pass through without a problem of any kind. Were the ones that died close to a natural death anyway? I don't know what's considered old, but all 5 of mine are over 4 months old.

I had not used the 1,000 ego battery very long and it could have been a bad battery. I recharged the 900 Riva and it is now working. I was just wondering if anyone had similar problem but it just appears I had a bad battery.

i'm so relieved to hear it(!) ... but keep us posted. these emdcc's are still so new that anything can come up regarding how they work, especially with different types of batteries, etcetera. :) i still haven't heard from anyone who has taken one apart to see exactly how they're made. i'm interested to know that, as six has suggested that they might have air pockets in the batting to hold more fluid (correct me if i'm wrong about that). i did the taryn spin to fill one and think i actually put too much fluid and clogged it until i drained some of the fluid out. it held the fluid but i just about couldn't take a drag from it.

let me just add that the emdcc i did the taryn spin with was one that i had cleaned 2 days prior to filling, so there may still have been some water in the batting, too. i haven't tried the taryn spin to fill a new carto yet.

update: mv just informed me that they will not be getting the mega type b drip tips in "any time soon" and they will be increasing their stock of the emdcc's with more product that is "on the way."

thanks for the link and thread ... will check them out asap! also, what a great idea about the parfait ... as long as all the flavors are ones you like and don't mind a little mixing. i just adore the chocolate bavarian cream(!), too, but haven't tried the caramel cream yet. yum ... turtle pie! i just did my own dark-roast coffee flavor, too, (think that's what you meant) and it worked pretty well to improve on a couple of the chocolate/coffee flavors i have that were a little weak and lacking in real coffee flavor. did you do all this using the emdcc? i've used stevia for a sweetner, too, but not sure what the other one is. mostly i just use stevia and xyletol so that's all i have at home. thanks, again! :)

I use "On Stevia" with glycerin and water, nothing else added. Ethyl Maltol is the same thing as Cotton Candy. Cotton Candy is EM (10%) suspended in PG, so you can also just buy Cotton Candy, just more expensive than making it from powder.

I've done the parfait in other cartos but it works better on the EMDCC because of their size. How did you do your coffee? I infuse fine ground in PG for 6 days in the cupboard then strain it well. I keep it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and it seems to work fine. It takes a long time to filter it though so it isn't a fast process but well worth the effort. Even though it's very dark you only need a few drops. Good luck, making your own eJuice is a lot of fun and MUCH cheaper.

Has anyone had any luck cleaning these when the draw becomes very tight? I made it worse trying to vape the juice in it so it's really a tight draw now. I know I could toss it since it's so cheap but I have a pile of stuff for ICE. Got into that habit when we thought e-cigs were going to be banned.... or that's my excuse. :D

thanks for the coffee recipe. i was desperate and in a hurry, so i just made strong, dark-roast coffee with distilled water, then boiled it down to almost nothing, double strained it a few times, put it in a dropper bottle. then i added a few drops to some vg and shook it up well. i added it to some juices that really needed help, and it worked pretty well. actually it really saved them! i'm keeping it in the fridge so it doesn't grow fuzz on it. lol i'll try your recipe in a couple of days, tho ... sounds much better than what i did. i almost hate to admit i even did it that way, but, like i said, i was desperate.

what has happened, for me, is the juices i had were mostly high nic, and i found that they were too high for the emdcc, so i had to add vg to lower the nic, and it ruined the flavor. i only had a couple of low-nic juices left to work with, and ended up using them up. i needed something quickly to save the diluted ones. at least now i can make it thru until i can get the flavors i need to make my own or at least get some lower nic juices to vape. the only actual flavor i have right now is blueberry, and i found i don't like it very much. i can't wait to start making all my e-juices.

Let me know which method you think comes out better, okay? I use about 1/4 cup of grounds in about 16oz of PG. It's not an exact science so I don't think it matters much. The stronger it is the less you need to add for flavoring. I like Starbucks' dark roast coffees the best. I tried one of the flavored ones and yuck!!

does anyone have any idea what the maximum lifespan of an emdcc is? i haven't had one wear out yet. what happens? do they just quit firing?

GoodDog: i wouldn't want to use flavored coffee either ... to drink or make flavors with. i messed up trying to parfait an emdcc ... overfilled and had to pour the excess into another carto. that pretty much mixed the flavors.

I used one for a couple of weeks with dark juice and it became very hard to draw on but I've never had one just quit working yet.

If you parfait using a syringe just bring the needle up some with each flavor, starting at the bottom of the carto.

Wouldn't that depend on the mix of each juice? If some are lighter than others they should go last. But the way the coils are in these, it's hard to say what you'd get hit with first. Those who want to see what they look like inside, there are diagrams of the regular Dccs on some vendor websites, these would be the same, just a lot larger. Lost the link to a really good pic but try the Smoktech website.

I just received the eGo dual coils in the mail this week and my first imression is these things ROCK! They fit perfectly on my genuine Joye eGo batts and my megalodon. I have used them at 3.7 and 5 volts with equal success. The vapor is warm, full of flavor and they produce plumes of vapor. I haven't had one leak. They are much easier to fill compared to regular cartomizers, due to the fact that the opening is very large, so when I don't have my syringe it is so easier to drip onto the filler. My only complaint is that I couldn't get 5ml in them. I'd say a little over 3.5ml. I did notice that once you use them a few times and the filler loosens up you can more juice in them.
Just my 2 cents.

So, exactly which way is the preferred way to fill these? I just mine today and can't decide whether to take the tip off and drip, or use a syringe to fill it. (In the non-battery end, I presume?)
I wish all this stuff came with instructions!

I just pull off the rubber mouthpiece they come with and drip around the sides from the big opening at the top. First fill, they'll take around 3.6 ml. After that when the filler becomes a little more absorbent, they hold around 4.2 ml. I haven't found any need to do any filling from the battery end or to use a syringe. I put around 3 ml in from the top and let them sit for a while. Then I drip around the sides until the filler looks a little slushy.

(feeling a bit dumb tonight)

I initially fill with about 3ml of juice with the syringe and then drip the rest in and continue to drip when needed..
