I'm gettin' vaped-out. These cartos just keep chuggin' right along. I have 3 EMDCC's in rotation... All filled with JC Red Oak 100% VG smoke juice in the flavors of Tennesee Cured, Swiss Dark, and Solstice. It's only been a few days, but they all still perform well. From what I've read on the forum, I'm confident these cartos still have much more life to give.

I went ahead and ordered 10 more EMDCC's just in case madvapes has a lengthy wait for backorder of product.

Still have 5 additional flavors to try with my EMDCC's... Life's good!:)

26 days and I just threw one out. I started with 3 - 1 had bad threads and was never used - 1 has been cleaned once for a flavor change (ran out of the juice I started with) - and 1 has had the same flavor the whole time and just got a little weird tasting today. I might have gotten more use out of it if I wanted to clean it, but 26 days is plenty.

today, i'm at 21 days on emdcc carto #1 (keep going back to that one), and i put some funky flavors in it a few times and, instead of cleaning and waiting for it to dry, i ran some 90% vg w/10-15% distilled water thru it a couple of times, blew it out from both ends, and added a different flavor. it's not a perfect way to do things, but it sorta works for a "jiffy flavor change." this might not be a suitable way for others to do it, but it's one "not-so-perfect" way to change flavors without cleaning the carto. of course, there's a slight residue of the old juice in there for a little while, but it vapes out as you top the carto off.

Soon as the draw gets tight I steam clean 'em out. My hubby made me a carto drying holder out of plastic lighting grating that we were using for an aquarium divider. He fitted it into a small tupperware container and I just pop one into the grating hole and turn on the fan over it. It stays put and gets dry very quickly this way without adding any heat to the unit. Also works well for airing out bottles of juice to get rid of the alky if needed.

I'm using one now on my little ego PT at 4.2V and it's real sweet vape. Not too hot, just right, especially with the base in this juice being the Ecopure, wow, very smooth.

sounds like a sweet drying set up! the vv passthru sounds great, too! i'd love to be able to vape at 4.2v. as ya'll know, the best batts i have so far are the kgo's and my ego passthru. i want a vv, too!!!

i wouldn't mind reading some opinions on what the signs and symptoms of the pending doom of an emdcc are. could it be that firing hesitation of the coils increases? could it be that the filler material refuses to hold e-juice? or would these be signs that the carto merely needs cleaning? i may be trying to ride an almost dead horse with carto #1 but am not totally sure ... the draw isn't tight at all. guess i just want to see how long i can keep one of these going ... refusing to give up on it as it's still firing (altho with more hesitation). i do get less hesitation on the ego passthru, tho. i noticed that even some freshly opened emdcc's seem to have a little firing hesitation. am i expecting too much? carto #1 was the best one i've opened, and i've only opened 4 of them since 07/08. i know that even if i used and tossed one of these, on average, every 4-5 days, i'd still be doing super great! it's just a testing thing with me right now. i wouldn't mind hearing some opinions from others.

one other thing: i noticed that when using the emdcc with my kgo batts and the batteries blink that they need charging, they will still fire a 510 atty but not the emdcc (until i recharge). it seems the kgo's are not completely discharged when they indicate they need recharging (when attached to the emdcc). could this be because of the dual coils needing a high mah? does the mah decrease on a discharged battery? i'm not a techy type ... just wanted to know why this happens? i haven't tested this with the ego batts. after 5 months of heavy vaping, my batts could be wearing out, too. also, is it possible to wear out an ego passthru? i always thought that would be my back up if the others died.

of note: i may have overfilled #1 and that may be why it wasn't firing so quickly. i just blew out some excess juice, and it seems to be firing better again. i'm just glad i finally found a carto that's this great! i'm beginning to wonder if i can ever kill carto #1?

There's really not that much difference between 3.7 and 4.2. The ego batts are 3.4V, not a true 3.7V. The PT I'm using barely fires the mega carto at 3.2. 3.7 feels much like using a std. ego 900 batt, and 4.2 just pushes it a little. I want 5V + to try so will still purchase a little sister or other VV mod in the future. I hear the DCCs really shine at 5V or greater. 4.2 is just a little warmer. I haven't thrown one away either, these are very durable. I would say it's time to toss when they arn't performing well even after a cleaning. Sooner or later the coils will get too gunked up with sugars/resins etc., and performance will start to dwindle and aside from cleaning with something stronger, which would probably ruin the filler, it's time to toss and fill up a new one.

i guess what i want is hotter than 4.2 also. if my kgo is firing at 4.2, then i want more. my batts are getting older now, tho, so maybe they're not doing 4.2 anymore or i need to toss the old emdcc's. if i'm going to toss an emdcc anyway, i might try my h2o2 cleaning and see if it renews or kills the coils. i'm happy ... just want to be more happy! lol i want to try 5 volts, too. i'm still unclear about depleted batts and mah. if the mah is 1100 and the batt is run down, is the mah also lower until the next charge? sorry, i don't understand this. i've tried searching for this but can't seem to find anything. guess i need to break down and open another emdcc.

For 6$ more you have the madvapes VV box. This box can be used with all the cartos and atos. Its amazing, it works with just anything you want to throw on it.

i looked and mv still doesn't have any vv boxes in stock, but they do have the 5v box. otoh, the smoketech store is in my neighborhood. i've been in contact but am still undecided. the sale is until noon tomorrow, and the price is right, but if the smoke tech 5v box won't taked the emdcc's ...

anyone tried the megalodon(?) and i'd give anything for a provari!! well, back to reality.

what i love about these emdcc's is that i've chain vaped and abused mine (still on the 1st 4 i opened) with bad juices almost beyond what one should take, and all i have to do is run some vg and a little e-juice thru them a couple of time, blow them out, and they are firing great again! :) maybe they're not like new now, but they are working and should last until i get some more e-juices. i ran out of everything i love vaping and can't order more until tomorrow. :(

Looks like MV is out of a whole lot of things, including the little VV box. I've been on wait list for 2 months now. Wonder what's up?

Other than being a box, so not the best to show off, its the best simple no nonsens efective mod you can get for the money it costs. It works just with everything, no matter the ohms or whatsoever.
I agree with JimmyJet, having 8 other mods, I never regretted to have bought the madvape box.
If the others dont work for some reason, I allways take first the madvapes, to check if it is the batterie mod or something else what is failing.
Well worth the money, well worth the efforts to get one.
