OK, thanks. Glad to know I ordered the correct thing. Hmm. All I have are the 650's. So about half the time they usually last me. Guess I need bigger batteries.

Maybe that is the reason Mad Vapes says not to use Ego batteries with LR atomizers. But I have been using LR atomizers with the 650 batteries for a long time and haven't noticed any difference in performance. Just when I think I get a handle on the understanding of how things work, I find myself all confused again, LOL.

The topic of eGo batteries and LR atties has been debated at great length. The post below was written by the owner of MadVapes and explains the issues...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/madvapes/127262-about-low-resistance-specific-batteries.html

In a nutshell, LR atties may reduce the service life of eGo batteries. However someone in another post said something that I thought made a lot of sense...

Whether an eGo battery lasts 6 months or 1 year is irrelevant. I'm liable to lose it, break it, or want something else by the time 6 months rolls around anyway.

If LR atties give me a better vape, I'm gonna use them.

JJ :)

Is it normal to have some juice leakage while filling it? What always turned me off the cartomizers were that juice would come out the bottom after/while filling no matter how careful I was to now get any in the straw that runs down the middle. Also, is it normal to hear some popping/cracking while vaping? I'm sure I must have put in at least 4mL and yet it does not look quite slushy but it is wet.

Yes and yes :D

They do crackle a little bit when you're using them - and a little bit of drippage when you're filling is normal, at least for me. I usually fill with a syringe over a shot glass until the top of the packing looks slushy and then stand the thing up in the shot glass for a couple minutes, gently blow out the center tube and vape away.

It is possible to fill these things without spilling a drop, but I generally fill them all the way up and just recover the overflow out of the shot glass with the syringe ;)

Alrighty, I received my cartomizers today. Wow, they are big. I used a 1 ml syringe to fill it. I was able to put 2 ml in before it started coming out of the bottom. It wasn't pouring out but a few drips leaked so I stopped there and decided to try it out. I love the throat hit and vapor. So far its perfect. Let me ask this. Is it possible to use all the juice in that filler material? It seems like it might be a big waste if you don't get to use it all. Are you guys able to vape all of it out before you have to refill it?

Hubby vapes 'em dry, and I have to discard his long before mine. Can you use all the juice? Yes. Is it a good idea? Probably not. Mine last a lot longer by consistantly toping them off everyday. I have never vaped one dry.

I tried these and I think I might be the only person that doesn't like them. The hit is harsh, even with a mellow fruit-flavored juice that has almost no throat hit. Flavor is muted, my juices just don't taste good when I try to run them through the emdcc.

I ordered 3, loaded one up. Ended up coughing for a few minutes like it was my first time smoking. Tried a very mellow grape juice in another, same thing. I'm scared to load up the third.

What's going on?

Edit: this is on a 900 mah eGo battery

Ok, thank you. So, maybe only vape it dry when you think the cartomizer has about had it and you're gonna toss it anyway? I never filled mine up all the way after the first 2 ml. I vaped on it for a little bit but I had opened a new, regular, cartomizer yesterday and went back to it so I could finish it up. (I know I said I have never used cartomizers before and I hadn't until yesterday.) I wanted to see what a regular LR cartomizer was like before I received the Ego mega dual coil cartomizers, since I had never used a cartomizer. Should I put the end caps back on the EMDCC while I'm not using it?

I noticed that I did get a stronger throat hit and my vapor was great. Of course, I didn't have mine completely full. The taste might have been dulled slightly but I think it was about the same as the regular LR cartomizer I put back on the battery.

I'm using the 650 Ego batteries.

What I have noticed about a cartomizer is that you don't have to keep adding juice every few minutes. I guess that is why people like them. I just worry that unused juice gets wasted in the filler material. (tight wad, aren't I)

If you put the end caps back on I wouldn't worry about them sitting awhile. Many vendors sell prefilled cartos and these sit around for awhile and are perfectly fine. The PG keeps bacteria from forming in the carto. I don't know for how long but I've vaped cartos that have sat for months and they were fine. You might want to wipe off the mouthpiece with alcohol wipes before storing them.

Been using my 1st one for a few days now, and it is performing great on my 650mah ego battery. I had ordered some eGo B type delrin drip tips and they arrived today. Much better than the rubber nipple they came with!

I ordered a few more on Monday and they came in the mail yesterday - and had whistle tips. Wonder if they changed back to them? Also, the first ones I got had no logo and whistle tips while the ones I got yesterday had a much smaller logo than MV has in their picture, whistle tips and came individually wrapped in green heat-sealed bags.

Hmm, I didn't get the whistle tips. I got a round, hourglass looking, rubbery, mouthpiece. Mine did come in the individually sealed green wrappers though. I just noticed that I don't have end caps. I think I got confused with the little end caps that came with the regular LR cartomizer I am using. I'm looking at the other EMDCCs I have that are still in the packages and I don't see end caps. Oh well, I think it will be OK for a week.

EMDCCs don't come with end caps - at least the two orders I've made haven't.

I guess Smoktech got some push back on the round tips - the three I got yesterday definitely have whistle tips.

When you first fill these the filler material has not had a chance to fully expand and moisten. It may look full, but it's not. This will give you a dryer more irritating hit. Top it off this morning, blow out the center hole gently, and continue to do so throughout the day as you use it. You will see that after the first fill the vape will be smoother, warmer than just a single coil, but should not be harsh unless it's your juice mix, which could also cause a problem. What ratio PG/VG are you using? All PG will give more TH.

Oh great, I emailed MV and I'm sure a few others did also, complaining about those baby bottle tips. I just ordered 5 more, hope mine have flat tips. But I've been hoarding the whistles just in case. It occured to me that since we are seeing these on other vendor sites at a buck + more than MV, they might have an exclusive on these from ST. That may explain the pricing differences.

I think there's a press release somewhere that says MV does have an exclusive -

Smoktech EGO dual coils cartomizer1.5ohm

Please note :This item we now only sell in addition to the United States market,if the United States customers want to buy them, please buy them from our USA distributor Mark/Madvapes.com who has received the rights of exclusive sales from our factory, thanks.

Interestingly, the pictures on Smoktech's site have the small logo and baby bottle tips. The ones I got had this logo but had whistle tips -

Just finished a couple hours of filing down the skirts to fit my ego clone batteries. Talk about a pain. Grabbed a bit of nail polish remover and got rid of the larger obnoxious designs on the clearos too. Now i need to find a nice, colorful drip tip to replace these awful nipple designs and im a happy vaper. These things friggin rock.

The tips that will fit these are: Joye eGo Mega Atomizer Drip Tip, COV and others stock these, about 4 bucks.
