Just finished a couple hours of filing down the skirts to fit my ego clone batteries. Talk about a pain. Grabbed a bit of nail polish remover and got rid of the larger obnoxious designs on the clearos too. Now i need to find a nice, colorful drip tip to replace these awful nipple designs and im a happy vaper. These things friggin rock.

I took a Dremel tool to the skirt on batteries instead and had it done in less than a minute - even by hand it wouldn't take more than two or three - what kind of battery are you using?

Don't see too many Michiganders here - I live on the south side of Lansing.

I got some of the FS eGo batteries off mypvshop to replace the cheap as .... T-Rex kit I bought from a local supplier. Makes amazing liquid, but his choice in hardware is abominable. I had to take a healthy amount off the skirts to account for a half centimeter longer battery post with only an old metal file to be found in my random tools box. Aside from the weird post construction, they seem to be built really sturdy and work well enough.

EDIT: Also, I did my whole stock of 6 at once alongside removing all the ugly text and logos on the sides. I probably wasted 30-40 minutes on it. But it's a day off and it was worth it in the end.

Thankfully, everything seems to be working swimmingly now, though I may have had a coil shut down in one of them. It tastes and vapes a bit off.

Also, hello Michigan type person.

Don't know what you've got for tools, but maybe trimming the skirt on the battery would help next time? I only had to take about 2mm off them but had two generic MV batteries that connected intermittently.

If you've got access to a digital multimeter an EMDCC with a blown coil will show a resistance of ~3 ohms as opposed to the normal 1.5-1.6 ohms. If not, Walmart will sell you one for $12 and Harbor Freight in Wyoming has one for $5 - nice to have.

I think we've got one in the tool shed at work I can fiddle with, but its such a wildly notable difference I think I'll just pitch it and move to another. Running 4 of them at once for ~1 week of heavy use, 1 failure isn't bad. It was my favorite root beer juice, so I'm sure it was the most heavily abused. Let it set overnight, see if it comes back to life and if not it goes in the trash. I can't complain for a 2.50 disposable part.

True enough :)

I killed a coil on one of these things cleaning it - it's pretty obvious if they're broken. Not much flavor or vapor. The one I'm using now is the second one I've opened and tomorrow it will have seen exclusive use for three weeks - but I vape tobacco-flavored PG juices. All I've done is run a straightened paper clip up the center hole a couple times a week and it's still going strong. I can't complain either :)

I can hook up any of the other 3 and get a cloud, but the root beer is a mere wimper and a really harsh feeling in my throat. I think I'm sucking in unvaped juice particles, haha. I have one other one that has had next to no throat hit and lower vapor production, but that might be a symptom of the juice rather than the carto. It's hard to tell, it's a newer flavor for my lineup. It's not nearly as bad as this one.

Oh well, payday in a week means a couple new juices and another fistfull of these things. The local guy here (Dan from Mister-E, if you've tried) is gonna try to start stocking the EMDCCs as well, I think he kinda fell in love when I made him try mine, but all this talk of being a MV exclusive means I dunno what luck he'll actually have with it short of buying and reselling them from MV themselves.

I think that's what everybody else is doing ;)

There's *nothing* where I live except disposable Njoys. I'll have to look Dan up next time I'm up there - thanks.

My condolences. I'd probably go mad if I couldn't send a text out and grab a liquid refresh in an hour or two. I ache for the day I can waltz in to a shop next to the gas station and pick parts and liquids on the spot.

EDIT: yep. Looks like I had two with bad coils, filled one of the spares with the same juice and it's tasting phenomenal and making those delightful vapor clouds I love so very much. I think I know what I did, trying to clean out that center tube in any way. Took one apart a little and found the coils resting inside that exact tube... I'm sure I didn't do it any favors touching it with stuff and thinking "this is really plugged up..."

Oh no. I hope they are all ok.

eta I wish I would have paid more attention so I would have ordered the other tips. Whoever began calling them bottle nipples is spot on. I do not like them and now I'm stuck with 20 of them. Darn.

Wonder if you can exchange them? I know most places won't do a refund unless the carto is DOA, but an exchange is different, maybe you could email them and see. Of course they wouldn't pay the freight. Yep, hope everyone gets through Irene with no casualties, I've got lots of family in Atlantic City and they were suggesting evacuating the island yesterday.

Very nice!

I just ordered 3 to try out and they give off a solid TH. Now, the issue I'm finding with these are the new drip tips they have. I really hate the size of those things. I really wished they kept the whistle tip like they did before. Bothers me to the point where I don't even use them right now.

Anybody found a place to buy some whistle tips that fit the EMDCC?

You can still buy the whistle tip EMDCC from Madvapes...

I just hope the flat tip continues to be an option after they sell all 1,495 of those. I also wish they would make one a tad smaller that would fit just the same, the carto is longer than the ego 650 batt. Not a problem with the 900 batt but the 650 + emdcc looks almost comical. But WTH, it's still a great vape and one I will use until something better comes along or all my ego batts run dry. 2 down, six to go. Anyone using these on the Blue Lightning Tube mod from MV? I just ordered one. That would be a longish rig for sure. Would need a crane to get it to my lips.

Can you use your regular drip tips with these??
And on the round one's are they anything like the Delrin tips? In the past I have not cared for the flat tips. And the one's that come with the Clearomizers have too small of an opening, and I hate the draw I get from those. So with that in mind which would you suggest? Wanting to order sometime tomorrow... Please help ASAP.
Thanks Tomboy

i'm not certain what you mean by regular, but the emdcc's take the ego type-b drip tips ... pretty tight fit on some of the carto tubes but works fine for me. i use the delrin. the tips that come with the emdcc's are a soft rubber and, to me, seem to change the flavor of my juice. others, here, seem to like the tips that are included with these cartos. i had a bad experience with the ce2's ... melting plastic and the small opening in the tips. it was so small that the hot vapor actually burned my tongue! hope this helps some. :)
