I wouldn't do that, you may damage the coils. I think giving the carto a good shake and blowout through the battery end to clear out the tube is sufficient to keep these operating in good form. If you want you can insert a toothpick at the top of the tube to help keep juice out when filling, but these have such a large diameter that it's pretty easy to fill without getting the juice down the tube.

Agreed, I can't see how putting a needle through the airtube will help anything. There must be a reason your carto's are getting clogged. Overfilling.

Vaping Zone sent me one of their non-Smoktech EMDCCs to test.

vapingzone's EMDCC clone

The carto looks identical to the first generation Smoktech EMDCCs I have - no logo and a whistle tip although it is packaged in different material. The only difference I noticed is the packing appears to be a little less dense - and the thing fired first time on my 900mAh Smoktech clone battery when a real EMDCC needs the center post of the carto pulled out a little to work on this battery. Wonder when Smoktech is gonna fix the way they set center posts in their cartos? :)

On first fill I got 3.5ml in the thing which is about what the Smoktech carto will hold but I expect the packing will loosen up. Flavor, TH and that snap, cracle and pop are the same as they are with the original.

So far it seems to be the same vape as a genuwyne Smoktech EMDCC and I can't speak to longevity yet, - I think they're worth the $3.99 vapingzone is asking for them, but I don't see any increase in performance over the $2.49 carto you can get from madvapes.

If I have any more observations I'll share them. I will give a shoutout to Vaping Zone for sending me one to try :)

That was pretty much my take on them, but they do produce more vapor on the first draw due to having lower resistance. 3.5 ml is more than I was able to get in on the first fill.

Didn't see your thread :)

Packing in this one appears to be a fair bit less dense than in an EMDCC - when I ran a needle between carto and packing at the very last I get a bump where I have to move the needle in a little to so the luer fitting will clear the edge of the carto - this left a pretty big dent in a clone but an EMDCC's packing appears to be more dense.

The smoktech EMDCC's work just fine on my actual eGo batteries. Every time I hear someone talking about adjusting a center post to get a connection, they are using batteries that aren't actually eGo's.

To me, if the thing is designed for an eGo battery, and works correctly on an eGo battery, then it's doing what it is designed to do. Any clone batteries which it isn't working on aren't built right, and there is no way for the folks making the cartomizer to know how your batteries are since they aren't standard.

Normally I'd agree, but *this* clone battery was made by the same company that makes the EMDCC :D

The first ones I got worked on some of my joye ego batts but not others. I have a couple of 650 mah ego-t batts that wouldn't make connection.

I'm finding with the new version, the ones with the baby bottle tips, the filler material is slightly less absorbant than the first version. Or it's wound tighter, either way same result. Anyone else notice this, especially on first fill? Using same type juice, etc..I never had the juice leaking out the batt end when only half finished filling with the old ones. And I've filled enough of these since July to notice a difference.

Yes, I've noticed that also. Was really surprised when I got the batt leak and I knew I had another third to go. I just laid the carto on its side and waited a few minutes before I topped it off.

Hmm, haven't given much thought to what I'm going to buy to replace these Joye egos when they all get used up. I want something portable, the same shape as an ego, fits nice in my purse etc., but maybe not the Joye ego itself. Maybe get a few of those new VV ego batts, not the PT style. They look interesting. And they will use the emdccs.

These are the best performing eGo style batts on the market today. They really drive dual-coils hard.

Next time I'm getting a few ego batts, I'll pick one up. if it gives the gold band ego clone from madvapes a run for its money, I'll be really impressed. -- Thanks for the tip!

True. I have one of those goldies and wish I had ten. After a dry spell, MadVapes recently got more in inventory. But I do not know if this new batch performs the same.

For those curious about the Hoosier SLB KGO batts, watch this vid...

Hoosier got more in stock yesterday and I suspect they'll sell out fast.

How are the new style emdcc fitting the KGO batt? I read that most of the issues with connections have been resolved with the new version. Is this true? 1 more joye ego down, 3 more to go....then I have to order something for portable use.

From everything I've read, the EMDCC works great with the KGO batteries. I'll find out soon enough since I just bought a KGO starter kit. I've read several say that the KGO batteries do wonders with the EMDCCs since they operate with a higher voltage than the Ego batteries. I have 5 Ego batteries that are getting pretty old, and I was planning to wait until one of them died to buy anything else, but my budget this month was right to go ahead and get them. I'll let everyone know about the combination of the KGO and the EMDCCs in just a few days. My expectations are pretty high right now, and I like the looks of the black rubberized KGO batteries.

an update on the kgo's i bought in mid february: they are still firing great! except for my ego pt and the vv box, i've been using them exclusively for the last 2 months with the emdcc's. there is a very noticeable difference in that they do fire much hotter than the ego's. for me, after the first 3 weeks, i had to start leaving them on the charger for a longer period of time (past the green light coming on), but they have served me well and have really proved themselves to be superior! i'll be buying more of them in the future. :)

of further note, and i've mentioned this before, a kgo that had been off the charger and used for over an hour showed over 4.1 on the meter, when i had it checked on the first of august ... that surprised me, because i've been using them heavily since mid february!
