Believe it or not, got the EMDCC clones from vapingzone today. Ordered Friday after business hours, shipped on Saturday and mr. mailman just dropped them off. vapingzone is in SC and I'm in Michigan, so I'm impressed.

First fill, but the hiss is back, the easier draw is back, the snapcracklepop is back, the increased flavor and vapor is back and I may be done with Smoktech EMDCCs. Now the Smoktech carto ain't a bad carto (or at least the ones I have aren't) but I did miss the slightly better performance of the vz device.

Okay Vega, your turn to describe the flavor of Boba's Bounty. Here is my description...

Oatmeal cookie pecan birthday cake batter a la mode with a light cinnamon sprinkle.

I'm sure your description will be nearly identical. :)

Honestly, it doesn't taste like a super complicated flavor to me, at least off the rocket. Just a roasted coconut with a bit of a cinnamon twinkle. I can see where you get the oatmeal sort of flavor, though.

I will say this, though. It doesn't make my mouth feel as crappy as PG based liquids do, and I think it'll be a grower as it settles down. Incredibly impressive throat hit, tougher than a couple of my PG based liquids, honestly.

But the Gorilla juice is really shining to me right off the get go. It's like a grilled banana chip in such a delightful way.

That's the funny thing about Boba's. Everybody describes it differently. I did not taste any coconut at all. Nor did I taste any tobacco, and AV markets it as a tobacco flavor. Then again, all of us former smokers supposedly have screwy taste buds.

Yes, good throat hit especially for straight VG. And I love the fog bank in front of my face.

JJ :)

I can taste the tobacco-y element in it as well, but not a traditional tobacco. It's like a weird undertone I got from mister-e-Liquid's 555 variant, but without the horribly in your face nutty flavor. It is an enigma, and it'll probably screw with me more and more as the juice matures. I'm also pretty sure I'm going to be getting more soon.

That sounds good to me - I appreciate your information and review. I don't care how much noise they make as long as they work. My next purchase of the EMDCCs will be the clones from VZ. Several have had the same experience as you had.

... so I built a cheapy one with a syringe. Lacking a 510 size carto, I built it around one of the EMDCCs I have here (after stripping off the paint, thankfully) and it actually worked! Quite spectacularly, too, haha. I was expecting it to end in a cool looking failure, but it's actually pretty neat, and usable.

Oh my, I like that! Where did you put the cut? Anything diff from the original instructions?

Not really, no. Just made bigger holes in the syringe caps to accommodate. I did have to trim off a bunch of the inner lip that fit around the plunger. I punched two holes slightly above where the skirt ended, but two may have been too much, it flooded somewhat easily. On top of all that, it ended up being leaky and came apart while unscrewing it and I trashed the whole contraption. Cool idea in theory, and with a little revision I bet it'd work well.

Yup. Those are the ones :)

40% VG might be a little thick for these things? Maybe try cutting your juice with a few drops of distilled water before filling - EMDCCs don't like thick juices much :)

And - how are you filling them?

i just drip it onto the filler til it looks good and saturated. and yeah i was thinking of cutting my juice down a bit.

on my ego tank, i need thicker juice to keep the damn thing from leaking, and with these i need thinner juice... headaches... blah. i have VG to cut thin juice with. didnt think to use water with the thick stuff heh

hey everybody! my kgo is back ... left it in a drawer and thought i'd give it another whirl, and she took a charge (twice now) and is working like a champ. go little kgo!! :D just wanted y'all to know ... these kgo's are great!

i did have an ego bite the bullet, tho. three flashes of the button, and it stopped. i tried to charge it and it was getting hot to the touch ... never had that happen before, so i took it off the charger and put it in the drawer ... might should be the trash.

I'm thinking 40% VG might be a little thick to wick down from the top of an EMDCC but I sryinge fill them anyway. If you're gonna top fill them it might be wise to cut your juice with a few drops of PGA, distilled water or vodka, whichever you've got laying around. They stand up really well in a shot glass - you could top fill and leave the thing for awhile, then top it off again and when you're done, recover the excess juice from the shot glass.

I'm all VG using Nic-in-VG and 5% flavoring with 10% H2O. So around 85% VG, 3% PG (from flavoring) and 10% H2O. Thick, clear and syrupy, but no problem wicking. I fill with a 18 gauge needle down the side the first time, it's very fast. Then drip ongoing reloads along the side.

An empty weighs 11 g and full it weighs a bit over 15 g, so at 1.2 g/ml, I'm not quite getting 4ml in there.

The Echos are indeed able to vape almost dry without burning, but they are conservative 2.5 ohm devices. The EMDCC outvapors the Echos, and just keeps on, with no flavor loss at all after a week anyway.

Mine (purchased from MadVapes last week) say SMOK, but if I look, they are IDENTICAL to the photos on the VapeZone site, same exact silver lip, corrugated black silicone rubber sucker, filler, wire, airtube, and they work great (snap-crackle exploding vape molecule sounds and all). I would guess they come from the same production line. Maybe there are more than one such production line, and nobody can pick where their next box will come from?

Just one thing .. the vapor is quite warm, and there is more of it than when the brontosaurus roamed the planet. I mean these are severe artillery! For the first time I sometimes wake up with a full feeling like maybe it's a bit much to inhale SO much vape ... anybody else? ... but who can resist ...

But where do we get replacement chewy sneaker-rubber mouthpieces? Ideas anyone?

I can vape the same mix in an EMDCC - made up a batch and did it yesterday. Got two thoughts on that, which may or may not be right - first, that H2O is a lot thinner than PG and cuts the mix more and second, that I also syringe-fill. Once the carto's wet it might wick just fine; everybody with whom I've talked that had problems with thick juices only had them on the initial fill.

edit: Apparently Iffy's vaping 60/40 with no issues - I'm gonna sit down and be quiet on that one now :D

On the VZ clones - Smoktech says on their website that madvapes has exclusive US rights to their EMDCC and I have some of each here. Some companies are masters at cloning stuff but the aluminum skirts on the VZ clones appear to be a slightly different color than the Smoktech ones - someone else pointed that out originally. The VZ clones (at least the ones I've used) have slightly lower resistance - the two or three I've measured came in at 1.4 ohms, have a lighter draw and are a fair bit noisier than the original EMDCCs. Also, VZ's website says they're not Smoktech devices and so far I actually prefer the clones as they run a tiny bit hotter and QC appears to be a bit better. I've never had to adjust the center pin on a VZ device.

Chewy rubber mouthpieces? I haven't seen anybody sell them separately yet but I don't throw mine away. An eGo Type B drip tip will fit these things but they're not chewy :(

I ran a single Smoktech EMDCC exclusively for a month before a coil died then a friend of mine x-rayed it for us and the picture's posted a few pages back in this thread. My friend said the inside of the carto was pretty nasty - it should have been as I ran more than 70ml of juice through it but *carefully* ran a paper clip up the center hole three or four times a week.
