strange, I have MANY MANY eGo ONE tanks and never had this problem (or any)

BUT used to have this type of troubles with the old Kanger gear (with afc base)

can only imagine those with troubles have done this , but it should be said...

the set up is just a simple insulated center pin thru the bottom of the base transferring 'contact' from coil to battery
the pin NEEDS to be extended PAST the 510 threads(red arrow) of the base - to ensure this, just PUSH from inside(green arrow) so pin pushes OUT beyond

Thank you and yes, I have screwed the tank base on without the coil!!

you mean it is tighter than OTHER 1.0Ω heating wires you've used ??

.5Ω have big 'center' pins // 1.0Ω have small center pins - try switching the pins ;)
I've never used the .5 coils, only the 1.0's. But the draw seems tighter on this coil than the others I've used. And I've never run this tank with the airflow wide open before. I'll look at my other coils to see if I see any difference.
