Once I started down the subohm path, it was either reduce the nic or make myself sick. Now I find myself having to completely eliminate nic due to requirements for medical insurance at work. I have to take a cotinine blood test. If it's positive for nicotine, I'll have to pay a $60 surcharge monthly. For me, it's really not worth paying. I need to reduce my nicotine use to 0 for 2 weeks in order to test negative on this test. If I can go 2 weeks with no nic, there's no point to vaping.

Wow, Lynn! That rather sucketh! Once they do the test, is that it, or does it have to be repeated? So are you saying you plan to stop vaping? :(

If you find these three parts please post the links.

Kat I too am glad this topic has come up. And I am particularly glad YOU posted the comments that you did. You are one of a handful of members in these forums that many people, especially new vapers, look up to for advice on all things vaping. You are definitely NOT the odd man out. There are many of us who feel the way you do, even if they dont say much.

I wonder if many of these people might be getting caught up in the "I need to get to really low or zero nic" mode of thinking because that is what they perceive a vaper's optimum goal to be, based on comments they read.

If that is what's happening, thank you again for bringing up the topic because these vapers need to know it's ok to stay at THEIR comfort level of mgs…if it keeps them off cigs. And, that there isnt one BEST mg level that fits all.

Thank you, Bea. That's very kind of you, but I believe I'm part of a HUGE group (and you guys are all included) who brings info to the table. Isn't that why we're here? It's a constant and fluid learning process. And we love it!

I think you're warm. People often seem to think that it's the same as getting off cigs, or they (still) think that the nic is the "harmful" part, when in fact, it's such a pleasantry, and can be so brain-helpful! It MAY be a goal for some (to quit nic altogether), but I don't see it as MY goal, or the RIGHT way to go.

I'm with m'dude on that badge!!!!!

yepper, don't think you are missin anything big...
I THOUGHT the frosted might look cool - not really...
I wanted one mostly because well, it's a different Joyetech family piece (Wismec)

but without the sentimental attachments, the eggroll v2 is a better deal...

Welp, in all fairness, I AM running one frosted tank (a KF Kompact) and also have it on a GMZ Provi. NOTHING looks bad on a Provi tho!

Just over the past 6 months I've converted from 1.8 - 2.4 ohm to .5 - .7 ohm and reduced the nic level in my Jooce accordingly.
Of course I've quadrupled or quintupled my jooce consumption. While I'm certainly no math professor it's not difficult to understand that I've lowered my nic consumption very little if at all. Just makes me smile when I see folks waving their badge of 3mg on a .125 build and pumping 30ml a day thru it.
On the other hand, I'm most likely gonna go back to above ohm. I just can't stand having a cabinet full of perfectly good but useless devices that can't fire sub.

Another of my favorite idiotsyncrasies amonst vapers. ;)

I also seem to think it is ODD people want to get off of NIC
is it the bad rap from cigarettes, is it the media, maybe the Moon...

my sister is obsessed with getting to ZERO and then her look of shock when I tell her
" I have NO intention to leave NIC " - NIC has a calming effect to me (a peaceful easy feelin) ♪

I also don't follow the game plan of LOWER the NIC / Raise the TEMP
1%-3% NIC @ 150 watts just doesn't compute to me... o_O o_O

YEP ! me and NIC are in it for the Long haul...

:thumb: Ever asked her why she is obsessed to get to zero?

Decided to pair the Armour with the P3, for the time being anyway. Built a 2.4Ω coil, and running it at 8.2 watts, and it's working really well. I have the Air flow turned almost all the way down.

See???? Gorgeous on a Provi!!!

well now, you guys got me curious so I broke out the 2.5 " ZENCOATs " (gold & grey)
spun the `ole frosted tank on and surprised it looked rather sophisticated... :img:

;)

Gorgeous AND sophisticated! :D

My lil frosted "glass" KF Kompact : (I may have posted this before, so sorry if it's a dupe.)

OK, cool then...

I've used both - can't say I like one over the other
just be careful about 'stripping-out' the screws (wire hold) they have a bad history
a good screw driver and a bit of good thought (no over-tighten)

forgot this, maybe somebody will care...

Why would anyone want to put vertical coils in these coil heads when they are so easy to rebuild horizontally?

LOL, I did hesitate before posting this video because he is so loud. But he gives simple direct instructions on how to coil and wick so I decided to go ahead. Besides, sometimes I don't even turn the sound on but use the closed caption instead to totally tune out personalities of some of these hosts. lol
I stumbled onto one of his early videos once. He was very calm and subdued. Nothing like he is now.

Kat, yep! It's repeated every 6 months. And more than likely I will quit vaping especially if I have to do without nic for 2 weeks to get a negative result. I quit smoking cold turkey in 1998 and never smoked at all or even wanted to until 2005 when a totally crazy ex husband stressed me to the max and sent me back to the world of tobacco. I just don't see a point to vaping 0 nic. I have until April 1st to comply.

why did you say that / did you see a V coil somewhere (guess I missed it):blush:
On that video you posted. The prebuilt coil head that he showed had a V coil. My question is why? These are so easy to build horizontally. I built nautilus vertical coils and said nope, no way...I'll just buy them since I very rarely used them. :)

I think you're mistaken :):blush::blush:

he NEVER shows a coil in the RBA

then the factory Kanger coil is a V he plays with

I wasn't referring to the RBA. I was referring to the prebuilt coil head(that I also rebuild) with a v coil in it. I specifically said in my posts prebuilt coil heads, not RBA's. :D

I don't worry about nicotine either. I used to believe it was super addictive but I now think it's the thousands of chemicals, natural and added by tobacco companies, that cause the dependency.

I'm hoping the Alzheimer's doesn't get me but you never know.

Nicotine and Alzheimer's/senile dementia...

Like with many "scientific" studies on the healthy aspects of substances/vitamins...

I always figure...if something can't hurt me...and may help me...why not go for it???

Ok, you experts, I just noticed that on the factory coils that came with my Armor, the positive wire just comes straight up the side of the pin, and is not bent over the insulator as the CLR's are. Any real reason it shouldn't bend over on the CLR. Just one less wire to maybe contact something it shouldn't I just built one and cut the top of the wire even with insulator, and it checks good on the ohm meter.
The pic below is the stock coil.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo OK (duh) sorry sweetie

yep I missed that

was looking about the RBA since that was what he asked about ;)

V-coils do require more agility, more time
THEN, I don't think they vape as good (to me)

most definitely prefer HORIZONTAL wire style coils . . .

just BAD quality control (didn't get snipped off)

take your wire cutters and trim it down

as long as it don't interfere with the threads and it ONLY touches POSITIVE wouldn't be a problem tho

just a qwik *snip* all better
