wow, that's pretty expensive

$4.50 for a 100' spool of 28g SS and you can make 300 coils
You're leaving out the value of your labor. Mine isn't free. I can build a house cheaper if I cut down trees and saw my own lumber and plane it too lol. As I said I'm after convenience, someone else can make those perfectly shaped ready to install coils at 65 cents a pop, I already have a good job :D

This woman is not poor by any stretch of the imagination so I've been playing the angle that her health is priceless. She suffers from COPD so she has to see a respirologist and even that doctor is telling her to use vaping as an alternative.

Fun fact: just after Christmas she went out and spent several hundred dollars on nicotine patches, used them and threw them away (as one is supposed to do with them). Stopped smoking for 6 weeks and was a miserable witch and ended up going back to smoking. I asked her where those patches were now? In the garbage of course!

I just rolled my eyes  (yup, just like that)

Sounds like you definitely have your work cut out for you. Good luck.

It's probably just the Monday cynic in me, but I some point I hand her a carton of Marlboros and an oxygen mask.

but you're NOT building a house, you're building a vape and YOU are putting the coil INSIDE anyway
so I'll just say again $4 bucks for 300 coils vs 5 coils for $4

matter of FACT, you are not far away from just buying the whole coil - no work/labor involved at all ; but then who will you pay to install the new coil into tank base... :?: ;)

One of the many beauties of this vaping thing is that we can each do what works for us; and even in the worst cases it remains magnitudes cheaper than smoking (after the initial "rush").

I, for example, do both (build some, pop some).

Exactly. I coil for my KF clones playing around with different wire types and sizes, that's about all the hobby I want in vaping for now. For general vaping I want convenience at a decent price. I go through coils with NETs like some people change wicks and no I'm not gonna dry burn anymore, especially the CLRs with that plastic insulator on the legs.

Well, this is one bad one out of 8 that I have bought. I contacted TW about it, so I'll see what they will do.
I've got an ego one mega I can't use either, so, for an item that costs $10.00, you have to expect, I think, that they all aren't gonna be perfect.

Just to update this, TW is sending out a replacement. :)

Excellent! And TW ships out fast, ordered Sunday and a notice today it's being shipped. I'm getting 6 packs of those prebuilt CLR coils with wick at $3.19 a five pack that Puffzep is so jealous about, all he has is spools of wire lol. I have those too. In a drawer for a rainy day and when i retire :D

"Eight vape", just remember that there is a slight overhang /gap on 22mm attys. The mod curves down... it's kinda annoying to look at, but I'm crazy like that. Org. got it for one of my KFs (gap/overhang) but put my Nautilus Mini on it and it fits great.. I just started looking at this thread because I think a Ego v2, not the Mega might fit on it.. and was wondering about the rebuildable coils..

Nice shot, Winblows. Your Egg Roll colors are a LOT prettier than mine. ;)

David Wolf, I like your style (I always have). I'm kompletely into lazier and lazier (=more convenient) vapes these days, and if I can pop in, why would I locate the roll of wire. What it's worth, often, is even more than money in terms of time value. Do I have rolls of wire? Sure I do. Do I prefer the whole mandrel and koiler thing? Not so much. Will I, have I done it? Yep Yep, but at the end of the day......

ALL I WANTED WAS A GOOD (and easy) VAPE. :toast:

An Oldie...but Goodie...

..

I was SO klose to that one, too, gerry. I believe it was the weight of it that led me to the white Kbox (which has gone to a friend on the East Coast for scuba diving adventures).

To you, little ol' Kbox mini. Thank you for our time together. :thumb:
