Some folks have acetone in their garage and or paint remover yes it can be harsh but should easily remove paint off the ego tank.
When i was stripping a few lionel trains i would use the paint remover and then a wooden handle brass brush dipped in acetone can and it took off paint in hard to remove area's.

Some have dremels like me and they come in handy for such small projects as one mentioned for tank base
there is a round shaped buffing wheel that is embedded with emery that will remove the base paint as well.
Forget the wheel number.

I LIKE that tip, Jumpin'. Seems it would look great on a Provi with the little tear drops. Nice!

My wife has been calling me 'Clash Gordon' for 40 years.

LOL!

Okay here's what it looks like now after the 3M green pad. Not the best picture

Color me (or uncolor me) impressed, Beam. I'm super pleased to see the result of the your labors. Looks great.

. . .

Short is out-of-stock:

Odyssey BBS (Big Bore Short) Mouthpiece

Think mine is short. Not sure if they will re-stock.

Longer:

Odyssey BBR (Big Bore Regular) Mouthpiece

Not too bad, especially if you can catch them on 25-30% off sales. The regular is probably better for most tanks. The Odyssey tanks have a raised drip tip connection that makes the tips seem longer than they really are. (See tank pic linked in my earlier post).

Funny that they call them "big bore" tips.
