Does anyone know if it is ok to use a standard mini usb cable rather than the supplied cable with the eGo?

I only ask since I have a mini USB charger for for my tmobile G1 and the business end of the cell phone charger fits into the eGo. I plan to charge the eGo passthrough at night with my cel phone wall charger.

BTW - the eGo passthrough is a pretty sweet device. I like the draw with the cone and I chose the stainless finish with a stainless delrin drip tip and it looks really sharp. A little long once everything is connected, but doesn't look out of place. Only negative is the plastic button. I miss the rubber one on the 510 battery. The eGo button feels cheap.

5V d.c. 0.7 A - it's for an older style blackberry before they went to the thinner usb.

So far so good. Really enjoy this eGo passthrough with a drip tip. All I need is a juice bottle and the device, since the cell phone chargers are already in place (work, truck, bed). Need to find a good case for the assembled piece. I have the 1000 mah battery.

Bought my kit from cignot for $50, which included the tip, 2 atomizers, 2 cartomizers, cable, atomizer cover, some carts, and 5ml of juice. I requested some ecopure rather than the selection they had you chose w/ the kit and they kindly obliged. More expensive juice than stock and they didn't give me grief.

I have had nothing but great experiences with cignot.

USB cables are very standardized. It sould be fine. The 700mAh of the charger concerns me though. My eGo charger is 500mAh.
Also not sure about polarity? I guess if you try it and the magic smoke doesn't come out of the battery, you'll be ok.

I would just get a charger that is ment to work with your eGo if I was you.

I agree that you should check the fine print on the charger . . . I've used an old Blackberry mini-USB wall charger at the house for the past 2 months on my eGo passthrough with no problems. Still use USB to mini USB at work off monitor port. (Still not crazy about charging PV off actual computer port.)

(Yes, I know it's not a TRUE passthrough . . . but it's a sweet, convenient way to charge a battery.)

You atually have to charge an eGo passthrough to use it?

What do you mean exactly that its not a true passthrough?

Based on what I've read it seems that the eGo passthrough is basically just an eGo battery that you can use while it's charging. And if that's the case that would be very disappointing because that would mean that you're not actually vaping at 5 volts.

No, you are not vaping at 5 volts with an Ego pass through. The pass through is really not a pass through at all, rather just a USB chargeable ego battery. The end of the battery has a cap that you can unscrew, exposing the charging port. This gives you the ability to use the ego while maintaining a charge at the same time.

It's the easiest way I've found to never have a dead battery . . . and not having to screw off the cone, and atty or carto to charge is a blessing. Just pop it off the mini USB charger to go! And there's a TON of these mini USB cords in my world. They're everywhere these days.

Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining about them. I think the ego pass throughs are great for an ego user. I was simply explaining DCrist721 what they were.

I was curious if anyone has tried to charge an eGo Passthrough 650-mah battery using the standard eGo charger not the USB cable?

Reason I ask this question is because I was considering buying the portable charging case that allows you to charge the eGo batts on the go and I just don't know it the eGo PT can be charged from the 510 connector end.

JoyeTech eGo soft sided personal charge case (PCC) - Genuine JoyeTech!

So what is the voltage when its plugged into my pc? 3.7? Does it have to be fully charged AND plugged in to get 3.7?

And it resolves that whole occasional the battery pin gets pushed too far in and won't charge conundrum.
