I got my new eGo and decided that I wanted to use cartos on it. Bought the 510 cartos to be prepared. My question is...with the cartos do i have to use the cone ? I put the carto on with the cone and the draw was very hard. When I took the cone off it was a lot better. I am not gonna do any damage to it if I don't use the cone am I? It sounds like it is getting more air flow with it off.

I messed with my eGo and cartomizers ALL FREAKIN' DAY yesterday...with the cone, without the cone, with the paper on the carto, without the paper on the carto, with the original cap on the carto, without the cap and insert modified cartridge to extend the length of the carto....blah blah blah...what I ended up with is a carto without the paper, used rubbing alcohol to remove the sticky, and a modified cartrigde (cut some of the bottom off so it wouldn't touch the carto filler) and put the cone on. Vapes great! Then...today, I loaded a blank carto (paper on, cap on, no modification at all) with Ms. T's Snickerdoodle, put it on the eGo, put the cone on and PERFECTION. No modding at all...so now I don't know what the hell to think...is it about the carto? the cone? the air? or the juice??? Good grief.

I vape carto's 100% of the time. I also didn't like the taste of metal on my lips from a bare carto. So I used to leave half of the tape on the mouth end of the carto.

Then one day I saw someone say that they sanded the small end of their eGo cone making the diameter bigger, letting more air in.

Worked great for me and no more cutting and peeling and glue on my cartos.

OK, get your popcorn ready.

What you need is a 2 or 3 piece of 220 sand paper and a flat surface like a desk.

You put the sandpaper rough side up on the desk, spay out your fingers on your left hand and hold it down. Now you take the eGo Cone and place it small end down on the sandpaper. Then you rub the cone back on forth keeping the cone straight up and down.

It’s like erasing a mistake with a pencil eraser. The key is to keep the cone straight up and down. It will take a little while so don’t try and rush it. If you do it to fast, you will snag on the sand paper and skin your knuckles on the sandpaper. Or worse, scratch the side of the cone.

I go back and forth 10 or 15 times in the same spot on the sandpaper, Blow off the dust on the cone, check the fit on the carto, rotate the cone 90 degrees, move to a fresh area of the sandpaper and then repeat the process. You’ll probably use 2 full pieces of sand paper and it will take you about a half an hour.

I don’t recommend using a power tool to do this kind of sanding, Too easy to take off too much or get the end crooked.

When your done you will have a cone that has a nice easy draw if you put your lips on the carto end. Or a heavier draw if you put some lip on the cone.

You can also use this technique for all kinds of things like making washers thinner or squaring up the end on things you cut off at a slight angle.
