Just to give a little history here, today is day 23 with my Ego T and until last night, I've not had a single problem with it. I've been using the first atty the whole time, moderate daily use (3+ ml a day), nothing but MadVape juices (PG/VG mix, not sure exact ratio), mostly Minthol (fairly thin, clear juice).
So, last night I noticed that the draw on my atty was getting really tight and decide it was time to bust out the second atty - which, I fully expected to work just as well as the first. This was not the case. I blew out the primer, dropped a few drops of juice in the battery side and blew it through. Put on a almost full tank of Minthol, primed it and set it down for a few minutes so it could start to wick. Now, I'm ready to enjoy a nice long draw of Minthol goodness....Go to take a draw and...wait, something isn't right here...
The draw on the new atty was non existent - I actually took it off of the battery to make sure something wasn't physically covering the hole, it was that bad. Thinking that I could take a few puffs to loosen it up, about 5 drags into it I get a mouth full of juice - tank is completely empty! Full tank, gone...
At this point, I've read enough on this forum to know that these attys are a fickle beast. I decide that this is "one of those attys", and promptly go to cignot and order a eGomega Cone atty and some eGomega carts - better safe than sorry since I've been off cigs for almost a month now, don't want to get stranded without some way to vape.
Now, just for heck of it, I decide to boil a cup of water and throw the "bad" atty in there - it can't get any worse, right? I let it sit, shake it around a bit, remove it, blow it out and set it out to dry overnight. I figure if it doesn't work in the morning, it's going in the trash.
Well along comes morning - birds chirping, coffee brewing, kids are actually dressed for school (this is a big deal, you know..) - I take one look at that atty and think to myself "this is your one shot at staying a member of this starter kit...blow it, and you're off the team" (not word for word, but something like that). I blow it out, drop a few drops of waffle juice and blow it through. Pop on a tank, take a few primer puffs and get ready for a draw.....WOW!! I almost choked on the massive amount of vapor! I mean this thing is out of control - the flavor, the ease of draw and the PLUMES of vapor are unbelievable! I ended up putting down my windows while driving to work today because the vapor was making it difficult to see!
I'm not saying that this is the answer to all ego t atty issues, nor am I suggesting you even try it (my disclaimer!), but this little experiment has given me hope. I just saved about $15 by taking 5 minutes to clean this atty, and I'm glad I did! I'll be ordering a few backups to have on hand, and believe me, they will get the "Bath" prior to their first use.
If anyone can back up this story with personal experience, that would be great. Thanks for reading!
