I did a search and found where others are having the same issue as I am with these soft caps. Because I was getting some leakage into the vapor path, i.e. through the mouthpiece, I replaced the hard plastic (nylon?) cap with a soft one I got today. Instant burnt paper taste. Before the switch: great taste.

My search didn't turn up a viable solution, though. :( Is there some trick to using these soft tank caps, some method of preparing them so they work properly? I believe I'd rather put up with getting a bit of ejuice in my mouth than that funky taste these silicone caps impart to the vapor.

Agreed, the little piece of cap must be removed. It will offset the pressure of the spike somewhat as it puts more pressure on one side of the hole of the cap compared to the other. I did buy soft caps, but haven't had the need to use them. I'm 4 months in and still using the original hard caps with no leakage. I took all the excess plastic from the caps after my initial spike of the tank. I also use a blunt end syringe so that I need not take the cap off when refilling my tanks. My wife's and mine are leak free. The burnt taste could be a wick problem, ours work just fine. Maybe trying a new routine of vaping...vape a bit without hitting the batt button, then hit the batt button and do a vape might work. Allowing more liquid to get to the coil before you vape. I also never vape my tanks dry(always leave a drop) and only refill the tanks 90%. I use the black tanks with a small window to view what is left in my tanks. They can be bought thru vendors here. I got mine at NicFitNation.com - Canadian supplier of e-cig kits, parts, accessories, and e-liquids - Buy ecigs in Canada E-Cig E-Juice
GL with your probs.

1. Seems to help.
2. Good plan.
3. Part of my problem might have been overfilling, leaving no air bubble in the tank. The soft caps are a bit thicker than the hard ones, it appears.
4. Thanks. :) Good points.

I have had leaking issues with my ego-t type b. I have been taking the flap off of these caps and it helps a bit. im going to check out other companies that sell the soft caps. And about the burnt taste, priming a few times helped me as well!!!

I think the B attys are slim and don't give alot of room for the vape...am I wrong? And if you use a soft cap wouldn't they reduce the space because they are a bit thicker? Just my thoughts.
