As a fairly new vaper (about six weeks), I have raved over the success I had over the first 10 days with the Ego tank system in several threads, despite the problems many others seem to have had. Mine was absolutely flawless.

I think a large part of this is I really thought THIS would be the product to move the masses to ECigs...no fuss, no muss, no dripping, no syringes, etc, etc.

Let me say that based on days 10, 11, and 12 that I was WRONG to have recommended this product here...so wrong, in fact, that I'm probably going to go back and edit/delete those other posts.

Atomizer #1 has a burnt taste that no amount of work can get rid of...cleaning, dry burns, overnight soaks, etc....Atomizer #2 (different vendor) simply refuses to work right, and (within 20 puffs) is starting to develop that same burnt taste.

Have 2 more T-Atomizers that I've yet to try...so we'll see about them.

I've disassembled, played with the wick, cleaned the wicks, cleaned the burners, and done everything imaginable.

No big deal to get $2 cartomizers (or even $7 attys) which aren't great, but for what these are selling at ($13+ a pop), my new recommendation has to be for 'newbies' to AVOID them like the plague.

This product, unfortunately, has the potential to turn people OFF from eCigs if new users dump this kind of money and can't get these things to work right out of the gate, which is NOT what this industry needs.

I appreciate your honesty, thanks for making this follow-up post. I agree, I have given the tanks an honest try and of the three atomizers I tried I have one that is tolerable (but not pleasurable) I no longer recommend them to newbies either (except as an add-on to a standard eGo order, since I know that some people are still satisfied with them).

A better newbie order IMO is the regular eGo kit, two boxes of cartomizers and a drip tip.

Can't wait to hear what you discover with your next two T-atty's :)

I'm about to receive my package. V worried abt how it might turn out.

many, many people love it... don't judge until you use it. I do recommend you get an additional system as back up though, a standard 510 atomizer (>$10) and a drip tip ($3) either way because they do have their place in any vapers routine.

I'm on day 21 w/ my Ego-t, still using the first atty (haven't even taken the second out of the box) and I've had very few issues. Most issues I had were from being a newb to the kit - little juice around where the tank butted into the atty, a few "burnt" tasting draws - but I'm am 100% happy with it. I would think it's a fluke, but I bought my wife the same kit in white, and same thing - first atty, no leaking after about 18 days of moderate use - her: 1+ ml a day; me 3+ ml a day. Maybe it's because I'm still new to this, and don't have much to compare it to, but I love it. I figure if I have to buy an atty or two a month, It's worth it. I hate that people are having so much trouble with it because when it works, it's a great device.

*Edit - just noticed my banner is a few days off...that's what people mean when they say the banners lie! Oh well, close enough...

Both the atomizers that came with my Ego-T kit had a burnt taste and a burnish TH for the first few tanks. Ive been using them for 4 days now and probably ran 3 or 4 tanks through each. The burnt issue seems to be mellowing out. Both atomizers were swimming in primer juice. I plan on cleaning them both really well with alcohol and water method tomorrow to see if that totally kills the burnt taste. Even with a possible break-in period Im sure happy with my Ego-T setup. I'm planning to get a 510-Kr808 adapter as I also use 808 carts. You just cant beat the 1000mah Ego-T batteries with 5 click shutoff protection, unless you start talking MOD of course which Im not interested in. It's interesting to see the crazy mixed reviews on the Ego-T system....

You are going to get mixed reviews on any pv. I have an EGO T and have had great luck with it. I realy like it. The Boge Leo also has mixed reviews and I love the one that I have. In fact the flavor is better that the Ego T IMO. The only isue I have had with the Leo is haveing to replace the atty which is routine maintenence on any pv. And once I found the blue foam, it made it even better. I'll deal with a lil "maintenence" if it will keep me off of analogs! No pv is going to be perfect all of the time..every one will have its isues.

I hope yours is problem free also, rko. But I had exactly the same experience as the op. When I first got my tank I loved it and raved about it on the forums, even going so far as to compare it with the REO. After a couple of weeks I started experiencing the same problems mentioned by numerous other posters. My husband, on the other hand, has been using his for about 6 weeks now and has not had any problems so far. I like the idea of a tank system, but I think I'll wait until it's perfected before being brave enough to try it again. In the meantime, I have been recommending the regular eGo to new vapors. Seriously, filling cartos is much easier than fiddling with a tank system to try to get it to work properly.

I'm going on about week three of my tank set up. I went back to using my 510Mega attys/carts with my ego batteries. I go through between 6-10 ml of juice a day, it's pretty sweet juice too, so when I blow it out its REALLY dark. But I ran into the wall I think. I'm not getting too much vapor out of the tank attys anymore. I boiled them and did a dry burn when they were done, and it was back to day one. Fell in love with it all over again. But a week later I had clogged the attys up again, and the vapor had dropped off again. So I'm actually looking into getting a REO Grand at the next time they are available.

I guess 21 days, averaging 8ML a day, is pretty good. That's 160+ML, but that is three attys. I did favor two of them, and I think I ruined the third one trying to clean it. That's not so bad I guess considering the attys are considered temporary, I could take them apart and clean them further, but I'm too lazy for it.

I have done the same thing... raved about the eGo-T

I do have some problems with it like you mentioned, the problem is, I dont know what else works better.

This thing has me off of cigarettes. I am going to experiment some, try a cartomizer, this spring I may build that box mod someone posted about and try that.

Unfortunately all my money is going into 2 weddings of 2 daughters, 2 months apart that are starting next month ( please send donations foks :) ) So I cant start spending hundreds of dollars trying other stuff right now.

I am still excited about the eGo-T as it has done well for me... but I do agree it has some issues, I am not completely sure what the next step should be for me.

It is my first kit, it has not turned me off of vaping, but I am indeed becoming more reluctant to suggest this kit to someone else new.

I wish I knew for sure what was a better plan for someone new as I have read about problems in just about everything else as well other than the more extreme mods.

I have been happy with mine so far. I might be adding to a tank thread in a negative way one day but for the month I have been using the Ego T I really haven't had any major problems. Mine tasted weird in the beginning and took a couple cleanings to get the primer taste out. Once I did that the flavor was better too.

Here is something I have noticed that I haven't seen mentioned. If it has I've missed it. Whatever juice I fill the tank with gets progressively darker. Like its cooking it. My atomizers have been fine. Only cleaned one of them 2 times and I don't really think they needed it I just figured I should do it since I had been using it for awhile.

Maybe I will be griping about it in a week or 2 but so far I am really happy with it.

For me, I've been vaping for about 6 months now. I do love the eGo-T, however, my first atty was clogged with a week's time. I think that may have something to do with that fact that I was very messy with filling the cart. Instead of taking the cap off, i would just squirt fluid through the hole out of laziness. I cleaned the atty with IPA, and I've been letting it dry for a few days now, I think I'll try that atty again and see if the cleaning helped at all. In the meantime, I've been filling the carts the proper, way: take the cap of the cart off, and put the fluid in. I really hope that this model is improved upon, since I've tried everything short of pv mods (cartos, cart mods, mega attys), and I love this the best. Even if I have to replace an atty 26 times a year, it's still much cheaper than smoking analogs for me. Still, I'd much, much rather avoid that.

That's a good point!
