Ego-T system - 12th day review

I switched from the eGo with Boge 2ohm catomizers to a REO Mini just before the tank system came out. I haven't tried it, but just looking at it, isn't it trying to make a juice feeder out of something that really doesn't need the upgrade? The eGo is a wonderful first pv, and with the 2ohm cartomizers, pretty simple and effective. But it has it's limits. It has proprietary batterys, and does not operate at a true 3.7v. It seems kind of counter-intuitive to me to try to make it into an effective juice feeder at twice the price of the basic eGo. Why not get something that is already designed to do that well?

This isn't intended to insult anyone who loves their tank systems, I just don't have any experience with it and I'm really puzzled about their current popularity.

Because it's so easy Mlinky! No more messing with cartomizers. You just fill up the little tank with juice and your good to go. You can see when you need to refill it. It cost me like $17 for the atty and about $5-6 for the tanks to try.

I had a couple of atty issues. Other than that, I love it.

I just purchased these that someone recommended in the Go Go thread. I haven't tried it yet.

After seeing some of the reviews on here, I bought an eGo-T kit. It seems like the atomizer floods easily. I have tried adjusting the wick but, I find myself blowing it out to get a few good hits. When I do that, I can see the cartridge draining and flooding it again. I've ordered some 510 atomizers, cartridges and a drip tip. It may be that expecting it to vape the same way all the time is unreasonable but, I feel I need some experience with different configurations to even have a basis to judge.

The only easy setup is a pack of smokes. And we know where that got us. Anything worth having or doing takes work I guess.

I have been happy with mine so far. I might be adding to a tank thread in a negative way one day but for the month I have been using the Ego T I really haven't had any major problems. Mine tasted weird in the beginning and took a couple cleanings to get the primer taste out. Once I did that the flavor was better too.

Here is something I have noticed that I haven't seen mentioned. If it has I've missed it. Whatever juice I fill the tank with gets progressively darker. Like its cooking it. My atomizers have been fine. Only cleaned one of them 2 times and I don't really think they needed it I just figured I should do it since I had been using it for awhile.

Maybe I will be griping about it in a week or 2 but so far I am really happy with it.

On the liquid darkening ... I think I go thru them too fast to notice such a thing! Honestly, tho', I have noticed that too - when there's still a lil' left when I go to top off tank #1 - the same liquid I'm adding is much lighter than the bit left from the previous top off. I'd say the wick is working 2-way

I go through 3ml per day, and I used to just carry some filled cartos with me. But, maybe the price will go down on the attys...that would make it much better. I thought paying almost $9 for my Cisco attys was bad, LOL.

Well, my basic kit was around $30, so $25 wasn't that bad. $60 or so for a start up kit isn't really that bad, all things considered. It'll get you off the analogs. Here, a carton is around $70. And that didn't last me a week. I go back and forth with the cartos. I'm using them now because I'm frustrated. I'd much rather have the tank working correctly.

I'm sure I have mods in my future too!

Not to worry, I may well decide that the eGo-T is the best. I just don't know enough to say that yet. Not planning to go back to analogues though. Fortunately, I can afford to try a few things before I settle on one.

I do think that the tank set up appears to be fairly new. We may well see some improvements coming.

I do find that a quick dry fire with the wick doodad out seems to help.

Seriously, I had no idea how freaking easy and consistent vaping could be until I got my REO...and the Mini is close in size to a Zippo lighter. I don't know why every pv looks HUGE in pictures.

i've had mine for a lil over a month. until i read this thread, i thought i was the one doing something wrong(what with the burnt taste all the time). no doubt, this product has many issues with it, but, in my opinion, my 510 even w/ an ego batt had just as many if not more. aside from the obvious issues involving carts, they too had an enormous down fall w/ burnt tastes. the ego-t burnt tastes while mildly annoying were no where near as harsh as some you would find w/ a 510 atty(which were next to impossible to fix). at least w/ the tank, you can blow it out and it'll work for a bit longer. also, the problem seems to happen less and less as time goes on.

all in all, as much as i hate my tank sometimes(so much so, it'll send me back to analogues for a day, i couldn't imagine going back to the hassle of my 510. at the very most, i'll keep one up as a backup

I want a nice juice feeder, but it bugs me how hard they are to get. There's always a wait list or they are 'currently out of stock' or they don't come with everything you need to start (so the unit costs $150 but you need to add atomizers, charger, batteries, etc....)

I wish I knew a place to go where I could just go online and order the darned thing complete and not have to wait forever for some dude to make more of them. I get too confused because I hear the names of the things and google them and it leads me to some thread talking about them but half the time there aren't even pictures or else it says "e-mail so-n-so to order one". E-mail? Really?

Yeah... I like the looks of some of the wood bottom feeding box mods, expensive but look really nice.

Yes, but the Grands will be available 3/20. I understand the frustration, but he makes each one, and they have been in so much demand that he hasn't been able to get ahead of it, although having minis available on the site for over a week is a step in the right direction.

I've been 2 weeks with my ego T and have learned it's quirks. I like 100% better then the ss choice micro no 7
I did kill 2 atomizers learning. Now I have 5 working in rotation all with different tanks and flavors going. I just change atomizer/tank set up. I even have a TW LR atomizer in the mix. All good for me.
i don't go nut cleaning anymore, just a good hot water rinse and blow out.

It only took a couple of days of messing with carts and reading about the ego-t system to decide to give it a try. Cignot had a tank and atty to me in a couple of days. Even if I'm not going to use menthol I wet a new atty with it and blow it out several times, then drip and puff until most of the primer taste goes away. Menthol seems to work best for that imho and cools the burnt taste cosiderably. Yesterday was a total success. It was like having an all day sucker to a kid. Went through about three tanks and a batt. Again today, same thing only tastes even better. It seems to run a little wet which gives me a really cool draw with lots of vapor but no flooding yet. From reading a lot on them it seems to be the general concensus that I'm probably going to have trouble within two weeks or so to a month. My answer to that is order some more attys and keep a good supply of tanks on hand. If I go through one a week and a tank a day it still won't come anywhere near what I was spending on analogs and my health is worth more than that to me anyway. I'd like to just buy my equipment once and use it for years but the realities are it ain't gonna happen. My lifestyle doesn't allow for something I've got to spend a lot of time fiddling with and the ego-t seems to take care of that. If I were to get busy and not have something to satisfy my nicotine cravings guess what. I'd take the easy way out which would be to stop at the nearest convience store and buy a pack of analogs and a bic. All that being said I'm going to use it until something better comes along.

both me and the wife have each been using one for a month now, hers has been perfect, mine has been off and on. I did have a leaky atty and one that had a burnt taste. I "fixed" them both by replacing the original wicks. They have a little more muted flavor, but neither leak, and neither have a burnt taste any more. The flavor has been coming around a little now after a day or two so I think they are ok now.
