Ego T Tank and Juice questions

Hi,
I just started vaping at Christmas, when my kids bought me an ecig, and I recently bought the ego-T. I love this thing, but have a few questions.

On the tank. After I vape for awhile, I get a lot of condensation in the mouthpiece, and sometimes some juice. I hated the bubbling sound when I tried to draw through it so I removed the two little pieces on the mouth end, so the mouth end is now open. I like this much better, as it doesn't build up so much condensation, and when it does, it is easy to clean out with a tissue. My question: Is there any problem with using these tanks with the two mouth-side pieces removed?

Also, on the juice mix. I have been using 60%pg/40%vg, and I have one juice that is 50/50. Both seem to work about the same. Sometimes my tank leaks a bit into the atty, and it gets kind of wet in there. When I remove the tank, there is usually juice all inside the atty, a drop or so after a few hours. Is this normal, or is the juice mix or something else to blame? Should I be removing the tank frequently to clean this out?

Another question on the smoke or vapor. Can other folks smell it at all? I can't tell, I hope not?

I greatly appreciate this site! I have learned so much from it.

Welcome to ecf. It sounds like you have some pretty wise children! :)

I've heard of others taking the mouthpieces out of the tank with the same results that you've mentioned. It shouldn't cause any problems.

I don't think the leaking issue you've reported has as much to do with the makeup of your liquids as it does with the tank system itself. There have been several reports of leaking tanks, but it doesn't sound like yours is leaking badly enough to worry about. There are other threads about the T that you might research for more information.

Yes, folks can sometimes smell your vapor, but this is not always a bad thing. My husband "complains" that when I vape waffle it makes him hungry. Most vapor smells a LOT better than analogs and is not usually disagreeable.

Hi TigerLily,
Thanks for the response. Yes, my kids are wise, and I told them it was the best Christmas present I ever got.

On the vapor smell, I guess my worry is that people who smell it thinks it smells like smoking. The vapor looks so much like smoke, and it seems to take a long time to dissipate, so I fear sometimes that it smells like smoke, and folks will think I am smoking. Especially when I get one of those bad vapes that taste burnt, I wonder does it smell like burning to others?

I've never had anybody say it smells like cigarette smoke. It's funny because just today my son asked me what I was vaping because it smelled good. It was caramel popcorn.

I don't know if you are male or female, but I've heard some men comment that their vape sometimes makes them smell like perfume which raised a few eyebrows, lol. Women never complain about that though.

I regularly vape in public places and whilst i may get an initial 'he's smoking' reaction as soon as they smell the vapour and see it disipate they relax and often ask what the PV is. Most would complain about smoke but are intrigued by vapour. If i use menthol they'd assume it was for my sinuses! LoL

I've had the tank for about a week and had quite a bit of leaking after the 2nd or third refill. so far after 2 days they have all leaked too badly to keep using. These are red ones from volcanocigs. I use a menthol 100% pg for most vaping--perhaps too thin...re: smell recently i started shaking things up with chocolate fudge, cinammon and the like and folks definitely semll it. I've never smelled one that smells like actual tobacco smoke --but i don't actually seem to like the ones that are said to taste like tobacco because to me they don't. People will still give you a hard time about "smoking" whether they can really smell it or not.

Sounds to me like that the leaking is actually the condensation, not leaking. You'll probably want to clean it once and awhile. There are posts about that as well as some u tubes, I believe. Someone wrote a great advice about long slow draw. Something like push button for a second, long slow draw 2-3 seconds & then inhale if you want. I believe we get the condensation by too long and/or too fast. I've found it not good to get juice up into the mouthpiece part, can easily get in mouth...so leave the parts in....but I know some like it better without them! ( If they do get juice--nice time to wash out. )

Agree with other posts re the smell.

I have been using the ego tank for about a month now, and yes some tanks start to leak after a few refills. I think the hole just starts to get to big to fit tightly enough around the piercer on the atty. But, there is a good bit of condensation that builds up. You can usually just gauge it on the amount of juice you are using.

I blow out my attys throughout the day, and I wash and flush them with hot distilled water every few days and it seems to do the trick. I haven't tried taking the mouthpiece parts out but I have found that a few things help with flavor. Every few puffs take a primer puff where you draw on it without activating the atty. This lets juice flow into the atty because these work on that vacuum created by airflow. Also take long slow draws for 4-5 secs.

I have found that a 70/30 PG/VG mix works the best for me. Anything more VG than 50% and the tank atty seems to have problems wicking at least for me. As for others smelling it, it probably depends on what type of juice and how strong the flavor is but it certainly is nowhere near the stench of cig smoke and is probably quite pleasant with some flavors.
