So, I have seen the you tube by DenvishNG to make a pretty good wick.
Joye eGo-T Wick Replacement - YouTube
and I read some where about tying knots to create a good wick.
I was wondering what others out there are doing as my method is not working all that great.
My current process is a combo of the two.
1. cut about 3' of silica rope to work with
2. use thread to pull the rope through the wick needle, basically doubling up the rope through the needle ( I have been playing with thickness)
3. tie a knot (or knots) in the top end of the rope and wick needle to keep rope together and hopefully allow it to be more firm in the wick needle
4. lower the rope into proper needle placement
5. cut the rope on the other wick needle end facing the atty
6. adjust the cut until it's right
The problems I run into is, A) if the rope is too long and after a couple awesome burns, the rope gets stuck to the atty and I have to pull it all off and re-thread it in the wick needle, B) cutting the extra rope on the atty end is really tuff (even with a really sharp pair of scissors), and C) the knot/s doesn't allow for good flow b/c the rope is U shaped at the juice end of the needle and not cut cleanly like a normal ego t wick.
Any other suggestions or alike would be appreciated..
Thanks
