shaude - can you take pictures? I'd like to see a compilation of eGo-T pictures here?

Sorry, no can do. I found a way of removing the superfluous wick and the mesh in the two types. This left the attys we know and love. Just rewicked them in usual way and they work fine now.

I get all my stuff direct from China. Attys, batteries and juice. The cost is less than half I would have to pay TW and my orders are with me in less that 10 days. Worth waiting for. These links will take you to the web pages on the 'Ali Baba' site.

FOR juice: http://www............com/fm-store/...garet-e-liquid-50ml-wholesale-and-retail.html

FOR ATTYS: http://www............com/product-f...rett-atomizer-5pcs-wholesale-wholesalers.html They always include bottle of juice and 20 empty cartridges with the attys).

FOR BATTERIES: http://www............com/product-f...-T-battery-1100mah-wholesale-wholesalers.html

I've had many orders with the above. They are very reliable and answer all messages promptly. The store name is Ocean Sun and all their shipping is free and can be tracked. My recent orders have been:

5 X T-tank attys for $34.99. They include 20 clear carts and bottle of dekang in the package too!
5 X 1100mah T-batteries for $52.63
10 X 50ml (500ml) Dekang juice (any strength or flavour) $67.37

I'd like to put in my experience with fixing the nasty taste of some eGo-T atomizers... First, I ordered a replacement wick kit from NHaler and ripped out the nickel mesh from a dead eGo-T atomizer. The wicks from NHaler are in strands of 6 but I remove one... then wrap a very small amount of nickel mesh around the remaining 5 (no overlap of the mesh, cut it with wire cutters or a scissors). Keeping it moist with spit or e-liquid will keep it from fraying when cutting it and putting it into the spike. The nickel mesh will hold it in place inside the spike plate itself...

The important thing seems to be to allow a bit of air between the nickel mesh and the fluting inside the spike. I used a very, very thin needle to open it up and press against the mesh... all 3 flutes get this treatment, all the while with the wick trying to escape (using my fingers to hold the wick in place while pushing the needle through between the plate and the mesh)...

I put the spike plate back and test it out a bit then removed it and cut any bit of the wick that seems too burnt - this seems to be an indication that it's too long - except a little brown that's closest to the spike plate. Cut too much and of course, it won't work at all...

If it still tastes bad, take it out again and re-do the needle treatment. I've already rescued 3 nasty tasting atties this way... and I hope I can rescue more.

By the way, the nickel mesh idea is from looking at the inside of atties from the Janty Korea store... nickel mesh is easy to work with and you can get it from almost any dead atty (not just eGo-Ts).

If anybody tries this technique, please give some feedback here.

ordered some silica rope. been tinkering with making wicks of different length and width. just seems like when i fix one problem another arises.

how far down to the coil do you guys have your wick end? do you have it touching or just above? ive got mine adjusted to where it doesnt leak and still wicks ok.. ive held a lighter to the end of the wick to burn off chemicals. it does blacken the rope a bit. not sure if this is what im tasting, but yeah the end of my wick is pretty brown and i can taste a hint of burnt. i washed it out and did an alcohol soak and it cleared up for a little bit. but a day later its back.

for my juice, which is 80-85% PG / 10-15% VG, i found that it helps to have the wick closer to the coil.

also, i did not fold the wick/PTB in half. i simply rolled it up and threaded it through, and trimmed the ends. if you ordered the 3/8 rope from the aforementioned site, i found that using just less than 2 full strands makes for a pretty good wick. it fits snug when wrapped in the PTB and is easily adjusted.

but yeah, i accredit the burnt taste to the wick not being close enough to the coil. if its that hot dry burn taste, thats prolly caused by the same thing. slide the wick so its down onto the coil.

on a side note. i decided to order some of the CE2 clearomizers. ive gotten to the point now, after close to 2 years of using the 510 type atties and such, that im tired of having to jack and tinker with everything for a few days to get it to work. time to start trying different hardware and find something that i dont have to f$#@ with every other day.

Hi,

Been trying to do this wick mod with limited success but I've found a much easier way to do these providing that you use 1) 510 atty and 2)clearomizer and have dead ones of each. The 510 atty provides the wire mesh and the clearomizer provides the wicking material.

The wire mesh can be salvaged from the 510 atty by pushing the coil assembly out from the bottom (the part that comes into contact with the battery) and unwrapping the wire mesh that surrounds the coil, you'll get a good couple of inches out. It's about 0.5cm wide and I just cut across the short side with a pair of scissors about the length of what should fit into the needle. Then I take this part and wrap it around the wicking material salvaged from an xl clearomizer then snipping it off to form the wick that goes down into the coil.

Voila a new wick with very little work!

From the looks of it, I've got enough wire mesh to make about 10-12 more wicks and clearomizers die pretty quick so no shortage of wick material and it doesn't have to be treated in any special way.

Hope this helps those like me that are having trouble working with the tea bag material and rolling up the silica strands just right but love using the ego-t tank system. :D

I'd like to comment that I think some versions or clones of the eGo-T atomizer are flawed. After repairing a genuine Janty eGo-T, it's awesome. No leaks, no bad taste. After repairing a questionable model (see my Type A), it was good for a short time but now has a questionable taste.

I also seem to get different results from different batteries. These atomizers might be super-sensitive to the voltage they receive. I suspect they'd taste better at lower power
