I recently purchased the new ego-T system. Since it was not wicking properly I tried to remove the spike to modify the wick. After I managed to get the spike out I was shocked to find that the the internal design is different from those shown on youtube. The wick did not come out with the spike, instead it remained fixed firmly to the coil. It is in such a way that the middle of the wick fibres is firmly adherent to the center of the coil with the free ends on the sides. Now I can't thread it back into the spike with the atomizer inside the cone and I can't get the atomizers out of the cone. Any ideas as to how I can salvage the atomizer will be appreciated.

Been there done that, bauways tank attys are like that, a upside down Y with the two ends secured to the coil.
Best thing I could do was pop the atty out of the cone casing using a socket or pipe and tap it out. Then buy some replacement wick and insert into needle and attach to atty, then tap it back into the cone casing.
