Ego Tank problem

Hey All,

I have been analog free for 11 days and feel great and love vaping. I do have a problem. I have an ego T that I love, no leaks or anything. My problem is the hits are getting really weak. My friend got the same setup 2 days ago, using the same juice and everything, hers hits much harder...like mine used to. What's the deal here? Please help...

Switching has been very easy...Starting yesterday and today I notice I need more hits, and after filling her tank because she ran out I know why. Mine doesn't hit as hard as it did new 11 days ago....

I had a similar problem with mine, when I first got it. If you're using the same atomizer, I would recommend tossing it into a cleaning bowl or something and using the 2nd one. If you're rotating the two and it's both of them...my inclination is to say that it's a compounded problem.

A: The atomizers get clogged up with gunk when they're used, over time. It's something that can sometimes be cleaned out.
B: It's also likely that your body is reacting to the switch and you're craving a harder hit, and just not getting it from them.

Most likely it's a combination of the two. My recommendation is to take and clean out your atomizers, and/or order some more. When I clean my tank attys, I soak them in vodka for an hour or two, making sure to swish them around a bit. Then I run hot water through, and soak them in a bit of hot water for a while...then onto a drying rack for a few hours.

Also, I'm not sure where you ordered them from. I got mine from AltSmoke, and they also carry LR (Low Resistance) tank attys. The LRs give a much warmer and stronger hit, I'd recommend you try them also.

Best of luck!

I find that I get about 5 strong days at 3-5 tanks/day before the hit gets weak. Then it's time to clean the atty. Personally, I rotate 4 atties, cleaning 2 or 3 on the weekend, and just swap out as they get gunked up.

I've also found that the darker juices tend to caramelize on the wick and coil faster, regardless of pv/vg ratio, so, that's good to know. I'll get about 3 days on an atty with a real dark juice.

Always glad to help. One more vaper is one less smoker, right? :)

I'm also fairly passionate about my eGo-T, and it's kind of disheartening that there are so many people on the forums that say "Tank? That's junk, throw it away and get a -insert personal favorite-"

Honestly, there's nothing -wrong- with them, and I feel that they're a good system to have, especially for a beginner. They're amazingly simple and easy to operate, and as long as you follow a few simple rules, they work fine. (Yes, I know there are defective parts out there, and I'm sorry if you happened to be one of them that encountered one of those.) I mean, you can't let it go dry unless you honestly don't look at the tank...ever. The batteries work great, and feature a lock so that they don't fire in your pocket and burn up.

I recommend that link for a good, quick clean that has worked wonders for me. Make sure you don't hold the battery button down too long because you can kill the atty. 2 - 3 second bursts are plenty. Also, make sure you dry out both ends with a rolled up piece of paper towel before reconnecting to the battery. You can clean a really dirty atty with this method and be ready to vape again in 15 minutes.

I use a ego T tank system (type A) every day, and it works great for me. I've been using it about 5 weeks now with the same two LR atomizers.

Every weekend, I take the one I'm using off for cleaning, and put the other one on. I soak the one I was using in isopropyl alcohol for 20 or 30 minutes, pulling it out now and then and dropping it back in again. Once it's had time to soak, I let it drip dry for a minute or two, then blow it out, then set it aside. I'm told that with the isopropyl alcohol, you shouldn't use it until it's had at least 48 hours to dry. That seems excessive to me, but in my case, it's not going to be needed until the next weekend anyway.

Every weekend, repeat.

    in a cave, eh?
The Egos are PCM regulated at 3.4 volts. They actually rapidly cycle between 3.4 and 0 volts. If PCM doesn't give your volt meter fits, you might read it as 3.3 or 3.4 volts. You'll never see 3.7 volts out of an eGo. Unregulated 3.7 volt batteries on other systems may read as much as 4.2 volts for comparison.

As for waiting 48 hours, don't vape isopropyl alchohol. However, like the poster above suggested, it should dry much quicker than that. I test the atomizer before I pop it onto my battery and 12 hours is generally enough even for my tank atomizers.

You can try blowing out the atomizer on a daily basis and doing a more thorough clean when it gets really gunky.

Glycerin based juices tend to clog up the atty a little more than propylene glycol based juices. I've found that it's a good idea to blow out the atty every time you change or refill the tank, and you will eventually want to clean it out with some kind of solvent. So, it's definitely a good idea to have at least 2 attys on hand.
