Always start your coils at low wattage and work up , many believe it can prolong a heads lifespan when not shocked by high power first .

It is also true that some heads are dud's from the start , toss those .
Brother I know that from experience. That's what started me rebuilding my OCC heads for my Subtank Nano.

I'm just going to share that I had a similar problem with the subtank and what I did was unorthodox. I kind of strayed from what your supposed to do. See they always say prime the coil by adding drops to the coil and the exposed wick on the side. My problem was I shake so I have a really hard time doing that so what I did was prime it how you would a bcc. I just installed the coil filled my tank with juice made sure the coil was sitting in the juice let it saturate naturally for a bit. Then I took some primer puffs (without activating battery) and no issues. No dry hits. Doesn't spit juice at me.
