Good morning folks. The thread title says it all. Today I am going to be getting my ego tank atomizer and tanks in the mail. I already have 2 egos and will be using the 650 ego battery with the tank setup. I have read numerous threads on the tank and have come across those who have had trouble with leaking, burnt tastes, bad atty's, etc. I only ordered one tank atomizer so I don't want to do anything wrong that would result in disaster. I thought I would only buy one atomizer and see how I like this system and if I love it, I will order more attys soon.
As I understand it, I would take the atomizer apart and blow all of the primer out before filling up the tank and connecting it to the battery.
Questions:
Do I fill up the empty tank cartridge with a syringe?
Do you prefer to fill up the tank from the top or bottom (I've read where most say do not remove the CAP on the tank, but fill from the bottom. This is where I am really clueless as you can tell.
There are ridges that must fit when putting the atomizer on the battery.. is this right? I am going to be receiving this atty and empty tanks (5) in around 2 hours and wanted to learn beforehand about the best way of assembling it. I do not want to screw this up if at all possible.

My thanks! Now I'm off to get another cup of coffee :)

When you first get the atty it may be filled with alot of primer. One of mine was, the other didn't have much at all. Blow out whatever you can.

Do I fill up the empty tank cartridge with a syringe?
You do not need to, the tank cover snaps off. I just use my fingernail. Just drip the liquid in and snap the cover back on.

Do you prefer to fill up the tank from the top or bottom?
It can only be filled from the end that attaches to the atty.

There are ridges that must fit when putting the atomizer on the battery.. is this right?
There are ridges, but I have found that it does not matter how they line up in the atty, others have noticed a difference in performance if they do line them up with the open part of the plate.

From what I've read, folks are having big differences in satisfaction with these. I'm one of the lucky ones I guess, no big problems. The huge thread in the general section has tons of good info if you encounter problems, hopefully you will not.

I clean mine in alcohol every other day, this seems to keep them running good.

Good luck.

Mine should be here in the next couple of days...our situations are almost identical, sickofanalogs: I purchased one atty and four tanks to try, but couldn't keep myself from getting one of the new eGo-T batts that have on/off capability; it was also 1000mAh, so party on!

Thanks for the 411, Uncle Screwtape...I was wondering if you can treat the new eGo-T atty like you would a regular 510...now I know!

Congrats on the new products, SOA...enjoy!

There's a huge thread on the EgoT with lots of good advice from some of our resident pros here. Since I got mine I've only used one atty and one tank. I would recommend the following to get going (iow, this is all I did and it's working well for me so far).

1. Insert empty tank into atty making the puncture for the wick tip to go through. (Make sure straight edges are aligned. Don't force it too hard, it should go in fairly easy.)
2. Remove tank from atty.
3. Remove cap from tank and fill. (I don't fill tank completely, I always leave a little room.)
4. Insert full tank back into atty.
5. Screw atty/tank combo onto battery and start vaping.

Good luck

The only part I had issues with was puncturing the top. I thought you needed a syringe at first, so I grabbed mine and stabby stabby.... found that was unnecessary as not only the top pops off, but you have to insert the tank into the atty to open it.

As was previously mentioned, don't overfill, leave an air bubble at the top, also don't shake it, that causes leaking. My understanding is they function like a fountain pen... if you've never used a fountain pen before, when you shake them, ink goes flying.

I'm loving it. I can mix flavors to my liking in the tank (a few drips of vanilla and chocolate into my coffee.... omnomnomnom)

I have noticed it's a HUGE pain to change flavors, the attie seems to hold onto more juice even after being blown out than standard 510 atties did.

Somebody please link to the huge eGo-T thread you are talking about. I'm just starting to look at the T and am VERY interested!

Thanks!

(I may have enough info from this thread, but just want to see what others are saying)

OH! Since I'm here. I already have an ego. Do I just need to buy the T tanks and T atomizers? and they'll work fine with my regular ego batteries?

My thanks to all! I'm loving this thing!
uncle screwtape, straightforward, really great info! Thanks hon :)
porkchop, I want one of those 1000 mah batteries now :( You are going to LOVE the tank! It's well worth the investment and I would be stalking the postman till it gets delivered lol
pav, some more straightforward and helpful info! Thanks hon :)
pixiedust, aint it the truth, I would be nowhere without all the help around this place! It only took me a matter of minutes too, this thing is not as complicated as I had thought, just was so worried about leaks. Thanks hon :)
dirgon, you said: "I'm loving it. I can mix flavors to my liking in the tank (a few drips of vanilla and chocolate into my coffee.... omnomnomnom)". Hey I hear ya! Thats the best part of this tank imo.

Gatorfan,
I was concerned about leaks but I have had none to speak of. It was more simple to setup than I imagined it would be :) I made sure I had blown out ALL or close to every bit of primer in the atty before I used it and I think that is one of the tricks. Made sure I didn't fill all the way and I think i put in 26 drops total in the tank. I have refilled the tank 3 times today! Had no idea I would vape much more with this thing. Is this normal? I didn't feel as though I was overdoing it nicotine wise.

Pizza2me, I was apprehensive about the tank but now I'm SO glad I went ahead and invested in the atty and tanks. You should do it, you won't believe how much nicer it is than dripping! I was getting so tired of continual dripping on my ego that I almost went back to analogs! Now I can truly see that I won't most likely go back to the cigs :)

Camelkicker thanks for that link! It's a fountain of info, love it :)

Jennie,
Didn't seem to have that chad to deal with thankfully, but thanks for the heads-up because I'll have to watch for that on the next tanks I use.

Just that I wouldn't have believed that I would be vaping so much more than I was with dripping... Seems to me I've seen this discussed around the forums before.

Thanks again folks!

I'm enjoying mine very much, and ordered a second one. The only issue I'm still having is that chad thing...I took the cap back off and used some small jewelry pliers to twist the chad off. The second cart I tried after puncturing it first with the atty was even harder to do that. Little buggers are stubborn for me! Don't know if my atty spike is short or what but it isn't poking out that hole well. I don't want to weaken the cap but that hole being too closed over can be a problem.

I just got my tank system about an hour ago...it's going really well, but I'm trying a Bauway RY4 with the system that I've never vaped before...not the smartest thing to do, since I'm not sure if it tastes correctly (first time for the RY4 for me)...it's also PG...I'm mostly a 100% VG user. I've read that this might be an issue with the tank system, being the liquid is thicker, but I also read that a few users have successfully vaped Alien Vision's Boba's Bounty, which I love.

I spent 10 or so minutes blowing out the primer fluid...it was pretty dry after I did this...LOTS of primer fluid in there. I started vaping and it works pretty great! RY4 is interesting enough, but I don't think I'll be vaping it as much as my "goto's" from AV.

QUESTIONs:

1) Am I able to remove the tank now and try a different juice at this time?

2) I figure I'll be blowing out some of the RY4 and still tasting it with some other juices for awhile...experiences with this? I currently only have one eGo-T atty, although I have another one on the way.

3)Can I position the inserted tank to line up with the battery button once I put the tank on the atty? Or will this have an adverse effect?

I'm excited for the system, but questions always arise with something new...looking for the optimal situation, y'know?

Thanks for any and all replies.

Three things I discovered to be true with the tank which I found to be important:
1. When you insert the tank and puncture it the first time, take it back out and make sure it completely knocked out the little circle hole. Mine only knocked out half of it and I got awful burning plastic taste! I had to remove the other half of the circle. It only happened on one tank though.
2. If I use anymore than 30% vg, it will not wick right and I get burnt taste.
3. If you take a couple of puffs without hitting the battery every now and then it stays wet and wicks better. Now when I puff, I continue dragging 2 seconds after I let go of battery button every time and it primes it for the next drag. I just automatically do it now.

Hope this helps. I LOVE the tank. Im very happy with it and hope you find it the same!

How did you blow out the primer fluid?

Good luck. Hope you love the tank as much as me!
